'!?!'
Arvin just stared, the serving cloth slipping from her fingers to the table.
For a second none of them even knew how to argue because the sentence was so blunt it felt like a joke said at a funeral. Then all three started at once.
"No, husband," Sarah said.
"Raven, are you insane?" Kira demanded.
"My lord, that is suicide," Arvin said, voice cracking.
He stood.
That made it worse.
All three women got up too, chairs scraping in panic, reaching for him from different angles as if physical contact alone might stall whatever catastrophe he had calmly announced over breakfast.
"It is stupid," Kira said, grabbing his wrist with both hands.
"It is beyond stupid," Sarah added, clutching his other arm.
Arvin hovered close, then finally caught the side of his sleeve and blurted, "Please reconsider."
He looked at the three of them clinging to him and sighed.
"You all dare stop me?"
Their faces tightened.
He gave them a slow, dangerous smile.
"You need spanking."
