Warm light spilled across a minimalist gray-white conference room. Three geniuses standing at the summit of intellect were exchanging thoughts around a massive holographic star map.
But what the map displayed wasn't any known starfield.
It was a strange structure—a model composed of seven interconnected particle-spheres: the simulated framework of the Super Beast universe.
If Huo Linfei—or Welt—were here, they would immediately recognize it:
Those particle-spheres looked exactly like Earth.
Ruan Mei's slender fingers swept lightly across the projection of the Third Parallel Universe, where a live simulation showed slaves laboring under oppression.
She frowned slightly. Her voice, gentle as always, carried a trace of confusion.
"Herta, I'll admit it—when I received the meeting notice and saw you had constructed this… world… one steeped in primitive conflict and slavery, I was surprised. I would've thought this kind of crude social experiment was more the sort of project that Doctor Primitive—mysterious, hard to track, and full of malicious taste—would be obsessed with."
The words were faintly critical. It was obvious she didn't fully approve of the world's "low-level" presentation.
"Hm. Ruan Mei, don't trap yourself in appearances."
Herta's puppet leaned back in her chair and gave a short, dismissive laugh—equal parts arrogance and excitement.
"Slavery? Tribal conflict? That's just the top-layer backdrop. It came packaged with the data—default parameters I didn't even need to embellish."
Her gaze drifted deeper into the star map, as if she could see through the simulation and into the underlying truth.
"What I'm truly interested in is not studying how inefficiently intelligent life evolves its social structures."
"Then what's your objective?" Ruan Mei pressed.
"To go fishing."
Herta's lips curled into a cryptic smile.
"I'm using a world big enough, complex enough, and—most importantly—fundamentally different from our universe at the rule level, as bait. I want to see if it can draw out that presence buried deep in the simulation's data layer: faint, elusive, but almost everywhere."
"It seems to influence everything… and yet it can hardly be observed directly."
Screwllum—who had been silently listening—let the steady glow of mechanical light flicker in his eyes. He took over with a calmer, more precise explanation, his voice carrying a measured metallic resonance.
"Ms. Ruan Mei, Herta's basis comes primarily from the 'materials' provided by the Silent Lord. Those materials indicate that within this seemingly 'primitive' world system, three powerful individuals once existed simultaneously."
Three extremely radiant points of light ignited on the holographic star map. Each carried an energy-level marker that made one's chest tighten—yet the specific details were deliberately blurred.
"Each of them possessed power sufficient to rewrite the entire world order through individual will alone. If we force an approximate comparison to our system, their energy-level responses may even surpass some Emanator-tier entities."
"However, due to missing information, we cannot presently confirm their identities or whereabouts."
Screwllum lifted a mechanical arm; the dynamics of the three points began to shift.
"The key issue is that these three ultimate forces—more than enough to form a stable 'triangle'—failed to establish effective mutual restraint. Two sides were weakened or suppressed for unknown reasons over a long period, causing the universe's macroscopic will and fate trajectory to be steered almost entirely by a single ideology for an extended era."
His tone grew heavier.
"This is an extremely dangerous imbalance. The universe's entropy increase, the progress of civilization—perhaps even physical laws—were twisted and deflected by that singular, overwhelming will."
"That is far more… concentrated and authoritarian than the way Aeons influence reality through Paths."
Herta nodded. Folding her hands on the table, she delivered the conclusion, her eyes shining with a researcher's pure excitement.
"Exactly. Our original Simulated Universe focuses on Aeons and the Paths they represent—trying to understand how those supreme existences shape our reality from the level of concepts."
She pointed at the Super Beast universe model.
"But this demo is a perfect control experiment. It simulates a world with no Aeons at all—where the power system and philosophical foundation are entirely different."
"By observing it—especially by observing how it might gradually shift from an extreme, one-sided 'single dominance' state toward some form of 'equilibrium'—"
Herta's voice rose, sharp with enthusiasm.
"We might glimpse how the concept of Equilibrium itself is born—from nothing to necessity, to eventual establishment."
"And that could even help us understand what kind of cosmic demand gives rise to an Aeon like HooH."
"Isn't that vastly more interesting than merely simulating a slave society?"
The meeting room fell into a brief silence.
Ruan Mei studied the three blurred light points, and the shadow of one force that nearly blanketed the entire universe. At last, she slowly nodded—her eyes brightening with the kind of interest only a new problem could ignite in a genius.
"An iterative process from 'one' to 'equilibrium'… interesting."
"So the variable intervening in this world is Huo Linfei?"
"Correct!" Herta grinned. "Let's see whether this accidental 'wildcard' can stir stagnant waters and force the hidden 'equilibrium' opportunity to surface early."
"And while we're at it, we'll collect more data on that 'mysterious presence.'"
"What the hell is going on here…?"
Huo Linfei rubbed his eyes, half-convinced he was seeing things.
Among the Golden Elephant Tribe slaves—skin brown-yellow, dressed in ragged burlap—there were also plenty of blue-skinned Whale Shark Tribe members mixed into the crowd.
They wore shackles too. They did the same brutal labor. Their expressions were the same: blank, numb.
Sometimes they were even scolded and whipped by Golden Elephant overseers, just like everyone else.
But if this followed the original story—
A hundred thousand years ago, it should be the Golden Elephant Tribe enslaving the Whale Shark Tribe.
A hundred thousand years later, it should be the Whale Shark Tribe enslaving the Golden Elephant Tribe.
Either way, the two tribes shouldn't be mixed like this.
He tried stopping an older-looking Golden Elephant slave who was passing by and asked politely, "Sir—do you know where Elder Yuan Zheng is?"
The slave acted as though he hadn't heard a word.
Those cloudy eyes held no focus. He simply hauled his stone load forward, stumbling past Huo Linfei as if Huo Linfei were nothing but air.
Not giving up, Huo Linfei turned to a Whale Shark slave who seemed to be resting.
"Friend, quick question—Yuan Zhen—"
The Whale Shark slave snapped his head up.
Terror flooded his blue face, as if Huo Linfei had spoken a word that should never be said aloud. He shook his hands wildly, then hurriedly grabbed his tools and retreated—fast—like Huo Linfei was a plague.
