Jubilife City, General Headquarters

The alarm suddenly blared.

"Quick, quick, quick!"

"We can't be late for Section Chief Zorro's summons!"

All officers who were not on outdoor duty or special assignments arrived at the conference room immediately.

Zorro, impeccably dressed in a brown suit, took a sip of tea. "Everyone's here, right? Let's begin."

"Yes!"

All the officers had their notebooks ready, appearing prepared for anything.

They had to be serious, as Zorro would ask questions randomly.

Zorro pressed a button on the remote, and Hunter D's picture immediately appeared on the projection screen.

"Pokemon Hunters are a criminal organization that illegally poaches and sells Pokemon. You're all aware of them."

"Code-named Hunter D, he appeared on the north coast of Jubilife City, attempting to capture a Shaymin from Floaroma Town. Wayne from Jubilife Breeding Center reported it and assisted in the arrest."

The projection switched to on-site photographs, including Wayne treating Shaymin's injuries.

"However, we cannot state that Wayne made the arrest, as this would cause the Pokemon Hunters to transfer their hatred onto him."

Zorro looked at the Officer Jenny responsible for public relations. "When reporting, obscure Wayne's information. Just say it was a kind-hearted citizen who was happy to help."

This Officer Jenny was specifically in charge of liaising with reporters and handling public relations. "Yes!"

"Pokemon Hunters are a very large organization. They won't stop until they achieve their goal."

"They are highly likely to attempt capturing Shaymin and other rare Pokemon again. Floaroma Town and Jubilife City must strengthen their patrols."

"I have submitted requests for assistance to the League Investigators and International Police, and I believe someone will arrive to assist with the investigation very soon."

"Additionally, I plan to strengthen police presence in some important locations, which will involve jurisdictional transfers. You can also submit voluntary applications after the meeting. Others, please convey this to those who are absent."

"Yes!"

Several locations appeared on the projection.

Leading the list was Jubilife Breeding Center, along with several remote locations like Floaroma Town's flower fields.

Places like the Global Trade Center, Eevee Video Network, Poketch Company, and Trainer Schools, while important, were all in the city center.

The city was a region that Pokemon Hunters never ventured into. They always operated in the suburbs or deep in the mountains.

Zorro's meetings were always highly efficient. When it was time to end, it ended. "Meeting adjourned."

At the same time, Greenfall Officer Jenny also explained the general course of events to Fumie and the others.

"After Mr. Wayne reported the incident, the police forces of Floaroma Town and Jubilife City immediately dispatched.

With Mr. Wayne's help, we successfully apprehended the Pokemon Hunters."

Although it was somewhat fabricated, fortunately, Greenfall Officer Jenny's acting skills were good.

Clap, clap, clap—

Shion spontaneously clapped her hands.

Noticing everyone looking at her, Shion playfully stuck out her tongue. "I think Wayne is really amazing!"

Floaroma Town Officer Jenny gave a kind smile and also started clapping, and the applause immediately rose like a tide.

Perhaps Wayne wouldn't be able to appear on Jubilife TV or the popular Sinnoh Now program, but both Officer Jennys believed that Wayne deserved applause.

"Then we shall take our leave."

Fumie suggested, "It's getting late. Why don't you stay for dinner?"

Floaroma Town Officer Jenny actually really wanted to stay. She knew about Wayne's cooking, as she was a fan of his.

However, she wasn't the one making decisions.

She was just the younger cousin.

Greenfall Officer Jenny shook her head. "I really can't. Perhaps another time."

Fumie picked up two boxes of packed muffins. "Then, take these to eat on the way so you don't get hungry."

Greenfall Officer Jenny wanted to refuse, but she couldn't decline such warm hospitality.

"Thank you very much."

After the two Officer Jennys departed, the others turned to look at Shaymin in Lucario's arms.

"Is this Shaymin?"

"Shaymin."

Although this Shaymin had been hunted by Pokemon Hunters, it did not fear humans because of it.

"This is my dad, this is my mom..."

Wayne introduced everyone in the room to Shaymin one by one, and everything proceeded normally.

"This is Alan..."

"Shaymin!"

Shaymin only showed its backside to Alan, its head tucked into Lucario's embrace.

"Again?!"

Alan and Incineroar stared at each other.

"Gao!"

Incineroar used Leer on Alan.

"You're looking down on me now? You're not much better!"

Wayne shrugged. "It's still because you're too imposing."

If Wayne possessed Affinity at Intermediate level, and Kinsley had Affinity at Master Level, then Alan possessed Intimidation at Master Level.

Whether human or Pokemon, facing Alan would unconsciously experience fear and apprehension.

This wasn't entirely a negative trait.

At least no one dared to push Alan around.

Some Pokemon possessed unruly, mischievous personalities.

If gentle persuasion didn't work, then Alan could prove useful.

Last time, a group of wild Mankey got too carried away fighting.

Alan went over and gave each Mankey a punch, and they immediately sobered up, becoming obedient.

"In any case, Shaymin will be staying here for now. Just so you know—don't spread it outside."

Shion chirped, "Got it! Don't worry, Wayne!"

The others also expressed their understanding.

"It looks like it's almost dinner time. The Master League opening ceremony is about to start, right?"

Alan nodded. "It starts at five, but with commercials, it should be around 5:15."

Leon asked, "Why are you so familiar with this?"

"Did you forget what I used to do?"

"Oh, you were a boxer."

"What do you mean, 'just a boxer'?!"

Leon was already ignoring the enraged Alan. "Lance vs. Cynthia—that's going to be a fantastic match!"

Claire pushed up her glasses. "The second match, Steven vs. Diantha, is pretty much a foregone conclusion. Steel-type is too strong against Fairy-type, and Diantha's ace is Gardevoir."

Today, Diantha will be... defeated.

However, it was normal for Claire to say this. She was a Steven fan.

"Work first. We'll watch the match together when it starts."

Since Comrade Fumie, who managed the accounts, had spoken, everyone dispersed to work.

"Take good care of Shaymin."

"Lucario."

(Leave it to me.)

Because Lucario had appeared like a divine protector and saved it, Shaymin loved staying in Lucario's arms.

After instructing Lucario, Wayne went to the room specifically for grooming.

"Uncle, are you available?"

Uncle Levin hadn't been around earlier and didn't even know Officer Jenny had visited. He was busy designing a hairstyle for a Vulpix.

"Just say it directly."

Even now, he was styling a Pokemon while chatting with Wayne.

"Can you design something for me from this that I can wear? A pendant, ring, bracelet, or tie pin would all work."

Uncle Levin adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, and after a closer look, he was stunned.

"A Key Stone—where did you get it?"

"I seized it from a Pokemon Hunter."

Wayne directly shifted the blame.

"Alright, keep it for now. I'll need your input before I can design it."
