The cruiser drives through the rolling hills of the grassland as live footage of a Gloom plays on the windshield of the cruiser, next to that an open pokepedia tab.

A Gloom has a flower on top of its head that can store and release spores.
Evolutionary Stages: 3 - Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume. With a divergent evolution option at stage 3.*
Gloom evolves from an Oddish when it accumulates enough energy to undergo the process of evolution.
It drools a sticky nectar from its mouth which emits a foul smell, the smell can induce headaches and vomiting in humans and pokemon alike.

Glooms have the ability to absorb sunlight for nutrients and energy. They can control and make plant life.
They can also create toxins, which can induce sleep, hallucinations, paralysis, and often times can also be lethal.

Glooms are more likely to live in forest or grassy plains with ample sunlight.

"Alright, so you wanna do this Aurora?" Lazarus asks.
Aurora nods with determination. She can't stand the stupid looking pokemon drooling all over itself.
"Okay. You and Sol will fight the Gloom. It is a second stage pokemon but you two will have the type advantage so you will be able to defeat it. Eidolon and Kamish will fight the Pidgeotto flock because they can fly."
After they confirm their next target, the cruiser drives towards the Gloom. On the way their Eidolon and Kamish fly out of the vehicle and leave to fight the four Pidgeotto that are opposite to where they are.
Lazarus sends a drone to follow Eidolon and Kamish to observe their fight.
Minutes later, they arrive at their target destination.
The Gloom looks at the cruiser with some curiosity and wariness.
Aurora and Sol jump out of the car followed by two spherical drone that hold pokeballs inside them so if anything goes wrong Lazarus can recall his pokemon inside their balls.
Gloom is now fully alert and ready to fight, the first thing it does is emit a gas from the flower on top of its head. A pink mist like gas spreads around. The gas is a biological agent that is meant to incapacitate its victim by inducing sleep.
Aurora summons a small blizzard storm to counter the sleeping agent. Aurora then creates a dozen of ice shards but by then the Gloom has surrounded itself with thick vines.
Aurora unleashes her ice shard attack at Gloom who uses the vines to protect itself and shatter the shards. Sol puts his palms forward together and unleashes a flaming pillar towards the Gloom.
The vines start burning but Gloom creates more vines and wraps the new ones over the old ones to snub the fire.
Aurora uses Ice Beam at the grass pokemon which is countered by a wall made of crisscrossing vines, they freeze and then shatter into tiny pieces.
Gloom panics and secrets a poison gas from the top of its head, a purple miasma spreads from it and threats to engulf the two pokemon attacking it.
"Get away from there, the gas is poisonous." Lazarus's voice comes out from the drones hovering above them.
Aurora and Sol get away from the Gloom and the purple gas.
Aurora uses ice slides to get away from the poison, Sol uses flames to launch himself as far away from the epicenter of the poison gas attack.
After they are far enough where the gas will not reach them, they wait to see what's happening.
Lazarus also can't see anything because the purple mist is covering the Gloom and its immediate surroundings.
Inside the mist Gloom uses a move called Bloom Doom to kill the nature around it. Bloom Doom siphons life from the plants and gives it to the pokemon in the form of usable energy.
The ground becomes blackened as the lush green grass and the colorful flowers wither into a dried and dead matter, completely opposite of their previous state.
Gloom uses that energy to create a plant, but not just any plant, this one is two meters tall, it's stem is thick and made of vines, as are the branches.
Gloom controls the vine plant as an extension of its own body, it creates long tendrils that creep towards Aurora and Sol as the purple gas disperses in the air.
Lazarus looks at this and think of a strategy.
"Sol use your flamethrowers at the big plant thing. Do it from the sky. Aurora keep distracting the Gloom, keep the vines busy, let Sol finish this."
Sol uses Flame Jet and takes to the skies like a rocket. Aurora uses a lot of energy into creating ice shards. She makes hundreds of them and hurls them all at Gloom.
Gloom uses all the vines to protect itself from this attack, using half the tendrils to make a wall to block the approaching shards and uses the other half to try and capture Aurora.
A vine warps around Aurora.
"Freeze it. It will shatter."
Aurora uses ice beam on the vine and shatters it, freeing herself from its grip.
Sol unleashes a flamethrower as he descends down.
Flame engulfs the plant and Gloom tries to damage control by doing what it did before to snub the fire.
It recalls the vines that were engaging Aurora and uses them to wrap around the big plant while also creating new ones with its dwindling energy reserves.
While falling, Sol uses Flame Jet again and rockets back into the sky. A few of the newly created vine tendrils crawl towards the sky to grab him but he uses flamethrower towards the ground again.
The pillar of flame descends upon the plant and Gloom, burning the sky crawling tendrils in the process.
Gloom quickly wraps itself with vines moments before the flame makes contact with the plant.
The plant burns again, but this time the Gloom doesn't have any remaining vines to kill the fire, neither does it have any energy left to create more.
All it has left are the vines that protected it from the flame and even those are burning.
Aurora uses an ice beam on the vine shield that Gloom has protecting it. And then the last thing protecting the grass poison pokemon shatters into pieces.
Gloom looks at Aurora with fear, panic and desperation.
The spherical drone comes near Aurora and Lazarus says, "Don't go close to it Aurora. It might use a poison attack as a last resort, let Sol finish it from a distance or just leave it be, you two have already won the fight."
The Gloom is met with a flamethrower, strong enough to be damaging but not enough to kill.
After that Aurora and Sol run back towards the cruiser, jump inside through the windows, and when the drones get inside the cruiser as well, it immediately takes off towards Eidolon and Kamish.
And the Gloom lies there. Injured, but alive, it will take a while before the Gloom fully heals.
"Good Job." Lazarus says as he checks the both of them for any injuries and is satisfied after he confirms both of them to be injury free.
"I'm going to put you back into the pokeball to check your energy reserves. Okay?" Lazarus says as the puts the both of them inside the pokeballs.
He suspects they are running low, which is fine, they are done for the day anyway, but if things so south with the Pidgeottos these two might need to go and help out. Unlikely, but still a possibility.
Lazarus checks their energy levels on his wristcomm. They are indeed low, but he doesn't think it's going to be a problem.
After he checks this, the brings them out of the pokeball again and sends them both in the back seat.
Looking at the map the position of the drone following his two pokemon and the position of the drone observing the flock of Pidgeottos is getting shorter. Eidolon and Kamish are about to fight in less than a minute.
