Chapter 120 - Leon S. Kennedy

AN: Happy Sunday😛 and Happy birthday to everyone celebrating their birthday today. đŸ„łđŸ„ł

.....

30 minutes earlier

At that time, Karena had just arrived in Raccoon City, coming in by helicopter and landing not far from Allen's apartment.

Well, she had deliberately stayed a bit longer in L.A. beforehand—mostly because she wanted to relax for a while with Raviel and the others there.

However, this time she didn't return alone. She was accompanied by Michaela, also known as Bertha.

Not long after arriving at the apartment, Karena headed inside, planning to look for her lover right away.

"Where is he?" she muttered, glancing around with a slight frown.

She checked his room first—but he wasn't there.

"Has he already left? But it's still early in the morning
" she wondered, clearly confused as she looked around the quiet apartment.

Not to mention, the place looked a bit messy—probably because of the party from last night.

She then finally decided to look for her daughter first, but when she entered Laura's room, Karena was a little shocked because she saw Allen currently sleeping with Laura, and their current condition was like they had just finished having sex not long ago.

Yeah, she had already suspected that this would happen, but she was a bit surprised that it would be this soon.

After that, Karena tried to wake her daughter, her tone carrying a hint of irritation as if she was about to scold her. This startled Laura, who quickly sat up—clearly shocked that her mother had returned and seemingly caught them red-handed.

But when Allen woke up and with his casualness kissed both of them and calmly said, "Come on, let's talk about this. You don't need to be scared—your mom's just teasing," Laura looked confused for a moment before nodding and hugging him tightly.

"Yes, we definitely need to talk about this," Karena said, crossing her arms. "And really, how long are you two planning to stay glued together like that?" she added, with a tone a bit pestering and a touch of jealousy in her voice.

Laura blushed deeply and glanced at Allen, who simply chuckled.

"Alright, let's go clean ourselves up first, then we'll talk," Allen said as he gently guided Laura toward the bathroom.

Karena stood there speechless, watching their behavior. In the end, she could only sigh and give up, dropping her act—after all, she herself had already fallen for this man, so she decided to just let them wash up first.

After they finished showering and cleaning up, Karena turned to Allen and said softly, "Allen, honey
I think I'd like to talk to Laura alone this time."

She knew that if Allen joined their conversation, it would probably go nowhere—he had a habit of spoiling the women around him.

Allen nodded in understanding. "Alright
I just hope you won't be too hard on her," he said gently before leaning in to kiss both the mother and daughter on the lips.

Then, with a calm smile, he left the room, giving them space to talk.

....

Allen then decided to head down to the lower apartment where Yoko was staying with January. He wanted to introduce the two of them—his plan was to make January Yoko's new work partner, since January's skills weren't far behind Yoko's.

"Allen, what do you need this time?" Yoko asked, crossing her arms. She'd learned by now that every time Allen showed up, he usually had something new for her to work on.

"Ahh, not a job this time," Allen replied with a grin. "I just came to introduce you to your new partner."

He stepped aside, gesturing for January to come in.

"Well, I'm sure you already know her—this is January, the top hacker I rescued a while back," Allen said, reminding her of their brief meeting during last night's wine party.

"Ah, right. Come on in," Yoko said as she realized January would be her new work partner. She actually felt a little relieved—working alone down here had gotten lonely.

"Wow!" January said, genuinely impressed as she looked around. Her eyes widened when she spotted the massive supercomputer that served as Wednesday's main server, along with an assortment of electronic tools, rifles, and sleek combat wristbands. "This place is amazing."

"Yeah," Yoko said with a proud smirk, noticing January's curiosity. "Those are nanotech-based self-defense gear—the newest prototypes."

"Can I touch them?" January asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she examined the tech up close.

"Of course," Yoko replied.

The two women ended up chatting for quite a while, completely ignoring Allen in the process.

"Well then," Allen said with an amused smile, watching the two of them already getting along. "I'll leave you both to it. Have fun, ladies."

Hearing that Allen was about to leave, both women turned toward him and simply nodded. "Okay," they replied casually.

"Oh, and I hope you don't bully Yoko. She's a kind and very simple girl," Allen added before finally leaving for good.

"Seriously? What does he think I am?" January muttered, slightly annoyed, before turning back to Yoko.

"Yoko
can you tell me what this is?" January asked, pointing toward the massive supercomputer.

"Oh, that's the main server for Wednesday
" Yoko replied, then began explaining what Wednesday was—an AI created by Allen himself.

"An AI? Wow
is this for real?" January said, her irritation fading as she stared at it in amazement.

Meanwhile, at Raccoon City University, Echo Six members Caroline and Sienna were currently disguised as college students. This happened after they successfully obtained the access codes needed to infiltrate one of Umbrella's hidden facilities beneath the campus.

The two of them quietly made their way down into the underground complex. Inside, the laboratory felt dark and gloomy — vials and chemical containers were scattered everywhere, and the faint smell of antiseptic mixed with something metallic lingered in the air. It looked like a fight had broken out recently.

"Looks like there was a battle here
could our target have already been taken?" Sienna muttered, scanning through the scattered notes on a nearby desk.

"I don't know
" Caroline replied uncertainly.

"Hey! Is anyone in here? We're Federation agents sent to protect you!" Caroline shouted, hoping for a response.

Moments later, one of the locked lab doors clicked open.

"Show me your IDs and state the code phrase," came a cautious male voice — Dr. Mueller, who clearly wasn't about to trust anyone easily.

Sienna quickly tossed over their work documents, which included their identification papers. "Those are our credentials. The code is 229J.K. Evacuation R.C.," she said firmly.

Dr. Mueller examined the documents closely, then finally let out a relieved sigh. "I can't leave yet. Umbrella's people are still monitoring me
and my work isn't finished," he said, limping slightly as he stepped forward. The lower part of his body appeared to be bandaged, and he seemed to be in some discomfort while walking.

"How much longer will it take to finish your work, Professor?" Sienna asked.

"I don't know
maybe a month or two. That's the fastest I can manage," Mueller replied, motioning for them to enter. "The Federation promised to protect me while I complete my research."

It was clear the man was still obsessed with his project — and burning with quiet hatred toward a man named Nicolai, whom he believed had shot him in the groin, rendering him impotent.

A pity, really — since Nicolai likely had no idea he was being blamed for something he might not have even done.

"One to two months, huh? Fine—but we'll need to report to our superior first," Sienna said, clearly showing her dislike toward the eccentric scientist standing before her.

"Huh? Are you refusing?" Mueller snapped, his tone sharp and arrogant. "Fine, let me contact your superior myself. Hand over your phones."

Sienna glanced at Caroline, who gave a small nod. "Give it to him," Caroline said simply.

With a sigh, Sienna handed over her phone. Mueller immediately dialed the Federation command channel and waited a few seconds before a voice came through the line.

[Party Girl, report your progress. Have you secured the target?] came the stern voice of Mr. Morgan.

"This is Mueller," the doctor interrupted bluntly. "I'm calling to inform you that my research will require another month or two to complete. However, it seems your two subordinates here aren't too eager to serve as my security detail while I finish my work."

There was a brief pause before Morgan's voice returned, calm but calculating. "Hmm
as long as you can deliver relevant battle data and research results, I think we can come to an arrangement."

"Good. Then it's settled," Mueller said coldly, his voice carrying that arrogant edge only a man drunk on his own genius could manage. "But I want additional units assigned for my protection."

"That's acceptable," Morgan replied after a short pause, his tone as icy and calculated as ever. "I'll dispatch the remaining members of the team to assist you."

The line went dead, and for a moment, the underground lab fell silent except for the faint hum of the generators. Morgan Lansdale leaned back in his chair, a faint smirk curling on his lips. He was a master manipulator—men like Mueller were easy prey for someone like him.

After all, this was the same man who would one day orchestrate the Terragrigia Panic, unleashing the Regia Solis and reducing the once-proud floating city of Terragrigia to ruins.

.....

Back to Allen, who had decided to take a walk to get some fresh air while heading toward the R.P.D. to take care of a few matters there. This time, he was accompanied by Michaela (code name Bertha) and Svetlana.

It had been a while since Allen really took a proper look at Michaela—her hair had grown a little longer, and the outfit she wore today was enough to turn heads everywhere they went. With her face resembling Anne Hathaway's, Allen found himself unable to stop glancing at her.

Svetlana, noticing exactly where his eyes were focused, sighed and lightly pinched his arm.

"So tell me, dear," she said with a sly smile, "what's the point of this little stroll, hmm? If all you wanted was to stare at this girl, you could've just stayed in the apartment and asked her to dance for you."

Allen gave a short, awkward cough. "Khuk—hmm, yeah, yeah
I just got a little distracted by the scenery. Alright, let's keep moving," he said with a sheepish grin before continuing down the street toward the Raccoon Police Department.

He had received a direct call from Chief Brian Irons, who had requested his presence at the station.

Svetlana only shook her head, clearly unconvinced by Allen's flimsy excuse.

As for Michaela, who had noticed Allen's gaze lingering on her for quite some time, she simply offered a faint smile. She didn't really mind—after all, both Lupo and Raviel had already given her the green light to return to Raccoon City and rejoin Allen's circle.

When Allen arrived at the R.P.D., he went straight to Chief Brian Irons' office.

"Oh, Allen—you're here. Come in, have a seat," Brian said, gesturing toward the chair across from his desk.

Allen stepped inside, but quickly noticed that Brian wasn't alone. Someone else was already sitting in the chair next to where Allen was supposed to sit.

When he finally got a good look at the man's face, Allen froze for a brief moment—his expression betraying a flicker of surprise.

It was Leon S. Kennedy.

'Wait
why is he here this early?' Allen thought to himself, realizing a bit too late that his earlier request to Chief Brian might have caused a small butterfly effect, bringing the rookie cop to Raccoon City sooner than expected.

'Well
at least this means Leon won't have that kickass first day
yeah, that's probably a good thing for him,' Allen thought, trying to stay positive. As he continued to look at Leon.

Brian, completely unaware of what was going through Allen's mind, smiled and decided to make the introductions.

"Alright, let me introduce you two properly," he said, leaning back in his chair. "Allen, this is Leon S. Kennedy—your new partner. And Leon, this is Allen Winter. He's your senior here, so from now on, you'll be reporting to him and following his lead."

Leon gave a polite nod, his rookie confidence showing through, while Allen returned the gesture with a faint smile, already wondering how much this early arrival might change everything that was supposed to happen in Raccoon City.

After chatting for quite a while in Chief Brian's office, Allen and Leon finally stepped out into the hallway.

"So, Leon—can I call you that?" Allen began casually, flashing a grin. "How about we celebrate your arrival with a few drinks and some food at the bar first? I figure your first day's going to be dull if I throw you straight into patrol duty."

Leon blinked, slightly caught off guard by the offer. "Ah
 thank you, si— I mean
Allen. But, uh, are you sure that's okay?" he asked, his tone carrying a bit of rookie hesitation.

Allen chuckled lightly. "Relax—and drop the 'sir.' Just call me Allen. No need to be so formal with me. We're partners now, after all."

As they made their way toward the lobby, Leon noticed two women waiting near the lounge area.

Allen raised a hand in greeting, smiling. "Oh, right—let me introduce you. These are my girls, Svetlana and Michaela," he said casually.

Svetlana gave a calm nod, while Michaela offered a faint smile but remained quiet. Neither of them corrected Allen's words, which only made Leon blink in surprise.

"Ah, nice to meet you both," Leon said politely, extending his hand. "I'm Leon S. Kennedy, but just call me Leon."

As he shook their hands, he couldn't help but think to himself, 'Damn
my senior's got some unbelievable luck here.'
