"Everything you believe in is nothing but an illusory bubble."
Madara's ancient voice whispered in the dark cavern, winding into Obito's mind like a serpent.
"Look at Kakashi. He inherited your eye, yet he has forgotten even Rin's birthday. And look at this brat, Kiyohara... he can easily replace you in her heart."
Madara's words, combined with the dazzling, heart-wrenching visual feed of Rin smiling at Kiyohara, made Obito feel physically sick.
His happy memories with Kakashi and Rin—the promises, the camaraderie—clashed violently with the cruel reality on the screen. The bonds he died for were crumbling into the ashes of despair.
Obito's remaining right eye snapped open. The single tomoe of his Sharingan spun rapidly, bleeding into two, then three.
He clenched his fist, his nails digging so deeply into his palm that blood dripped onto the stone floor.
"I want to go back..." Obito ground his teeth. "I must go back. I want to return to Rin's side!"
Watching the boy fall headfirst into obsession, Madara curved his lips into a satisfied smile.
'As expected. He is simple-minded, too easily swayed. He believes my words after just a few sentences. A perfect pawn.'
Madara wondered what kind of Mangekyō Sharingan ability a boy with such intense, desperate love would awaken. The stronger the trauma, the greater the ocular power.
....
Kiyohara had only been talking with Rin for a few hours when a shrill, mechanical alarm blared throughout the Uzushiogakure ruins.
"Enemy attack!"
"The Mist army has landed!"
Almost simultaneously, countless figures surged out from the thick sea fog along the eastern coastline. They were dense, stretching as far as the eye could see.
Kunai and shuriken rained down like a steel thunderstorm, followed closely by a massive barrage of Water Release.
"Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!"
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"
Towering waves and ferocious, serpentine water dragons roared out of the ocean, crashing into Konoha's hastily constructed fortifications. Forward outposts were instantly submerged and pulverized.
Shouts of battle, explosive tags, and screams of agony instantly transformed the previously quiet island into a bloody hell.
At the main camp, Orochimaru stood outside his command tent.
He watched the tidal wave of enemies and knew instantly: the island was lost. Even if Jiraiya were here to co-command, it wouldn't make a difference against these numbers.
"Everyone, follow the contingency plan," Orochimaru ordered, his hoarse voice cutting through the panic. "Use the terrain to obstruct their advance. We conduct a fighting retreat to the mainland."
"Yes, Lord Orochimaru!" a Yamanaka Jonin bowed, preparing to relay the orders telepathically.
"Also," Orochimaru added coldly. "Escort the Hyūga Clan away."
"All of them?"
"No. Only the Main Family members. The Branch Family have the Caged Bird Curse Seal; their eyes will seal upon death."
Orochimaru shook his head and threw a fire jutsu onto his own command tent, burning the maps and intelligence within.
"Understood," the Yamanaka nodded grimly. It was cruel, but necessary. If the Mist captured a living Byakugan, Konoha's situational awareness would be permanently compromised.
Orochimaru looked out at the roaring fires of war.
Over two thousand blood-crazed Mist ninja were crashing against a meager defense of seven hundred Konoha troops. The battle line was like a sandcastle being battered by a typhoon. Multiple sectors were already collapsing.
'I wonder if that brat can survive?' Orochimaru thought, Kiyohara's masked face flashing through his mind.
Even with the *Konoha Body Flicker*, Orochimaru felt the boy's chances were slim. To survive a meat grinder like this, potential wasn't enough. You needed raw, tangible, overwhelming strength.
"It's my turn to act," Orochimaru hissed. His sleeves rippled as hundreds of venomous snakes poured out, slithering toward the frontline.
....
Kiyohara and Kakashi's squad were immediately thrown into the chaos.
The sheer volume of enemies forced them apart, leaving them fighting in chaotic, isolated pockets within the ruins.
Kakashi's hands crackled with the Chidori as he tore through the crowd, each blinding strike claiming a Mist life.
Rin provided medical support from the rear, her hands glowing with pale green light, desperately patching up passing Konoha shinobi.
Genma and Kurenai fought back-to-back, fending off a surging tide of Mist Chunin.
Kiyohara was a blur.
His Tachi sparked with Lightning Release. He abused the Konoha Body Flicker, dropping Mist ninja with lethal efficiency, occasionally using subtle magnetic pulls to alter the trajectory of his thrown kunai.
Blood bloomed continuously.
He didn't even have time to loot. There were simply too many.
When multiple Mist ninja linked up to cast combination Water jutsu, the scale of the attacks became nearly impossible to dodge. The island was surrounded by the ocean; the Mist had absolute home-field advantage.
"This won't hold!" Genma spat a senbon into a Mist ninja's eye, his voice urgent over the din of battle. "The line is breaking!"
"Don't panic. The retreat order will come soon," Kiyohara yelled back, parrying a sword strike.
The Mist was employing a multi-pronged invasion. They were encircling the island, destroying the docked Konoha boats. The only way off this island would be to run across the surface of the ocean all the way back to the Land of Fire.
"Kill the Medical Ninja first!" a Mist Jonin shouted, pointing a dripping blade at Rin.
"Water Release: Water Whip!"
Two high-pressure streams of water lashed out at Rin like tentacles.
She barely managed to dodge, but the relentless assault forced her further and further away from Kiyohara and the others, isolating her near a crumbling wall.
Kiyohara's eyes sharpened.
Kakashi was bogged down fighting two Mist Jonin. If Rin died, their squad's margin of error dropped to zero.
'I can't hide it anymore,' Kiyohara realized.
Hiding his strength to avoid Danzo or Orochimaru's attention was pragmatic. But dying because he held back was foolish. If he died, he lost everything.
'From now on, I am a genius. If my growth is monstrous, they will just have to accept it.'
"Use the Rotation," the Radical Spirit whispered in his mind. "Your physical body has fully integrated the Bloodline Limit. It won't crush you this time. Show them the true Magnet Release."
"Understood."
Kiyohara stopped moving.
He closed his eyes for a fraction of a second and routed his chakra through the new pathways the Spirit had shown him.
He drew on the power of the earth.
The ambient magnetic field instantly warped and rotated around him. But this time, the crushing, suffocating weight was gone. Because his DNA had mutated to naturally harbor the Wind and Earth fusion, his cells didn't reject the magnetic force. They embraced it.
'How strong is this...?' Kiyohara wondered.
He decided to test it.
He pushed off the ground, tapping into the magnetic repulsion beneath his feet.
