As soon as I left his office and entered the hallway, I literally ran straight into Nia who was passing by. She took one look at my flushed face and disheveled appearance and smirked knowingly.
"Uh huh, it is not even close to the full moon rising yet and you are already clearly in heat," she teased.
I looked at her with what I hoped was an innocent expression. "You don't know what you are talking about."
"Well, today we she-wolves are horny as absolute fuck because of the approaching full moon, so maybe I do know exactly what I am talking about," Nia countered with a grin.
"And that is precisely why I cannot understand why Cole specifically chooses to disappear today of all days."
I tried to deflect. "Well maybe he is just out back somewhere doing pack business."
