"Interesting."
It was the first time Shinji had ever encountered users of Swift Release or Steel Release.
But meeting him was just their bad luck!
Noticing Sasuke's expression, he thought for a moment and asked:
"Wanna try a combination attack?"
Sasuke's eyes instantly lit up.
"I am the toughest man in the entire ninja world! No one can break through my defense!"
Chun — whose brain really didn't seem to work too well — suddenly started flexing his muscles and striking bodybuilding poses.
His massive pectoral muscles bounced up and down with every move. If Moxi had been there to see it, she would have immediately burst into tears of envy and jealousy.
Then Hidan rose from the "dead". Refusing to believe it was impossible, he spun his Blood Scythe and began hacking wildly.
The Rotten Bug Brothers were startled, but Chun's Steel Release really was incredibly hard!
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Hidan struck with all his might right on the man's forehead — yet nothing happened. Not even a white scratch was left behind.
After hacking away uselessly, the only result was that Chun's clothes were shredded into rags.
Eventually, Chun simply lowered his arms and let Hidan hit him all he wanted.
Steel Release was the natural counter to physical attacks. Very few taijutsu users could ever hope to break through its defense.
Of course, being tough didn't mean being invincible.
There were plenty of ways to defeat him. The simplest example: a single Water Prison Jutsu would trap him forever!
So he could only act tough and arrogant in front of someone like Hidan.
"Had enough yet?! My turn now!"
He swung a fist the size of a sandbag with crushing force, confident it would smash his opponent's brains out.
But the figure of Hidan suddenly vanished. He punched violently at empty air — effectively suffocating twenty billion molecules of air in the process.
The frustration of missing despite using all his strength was maddening.
"Brother!!"
Chou shouted.
Chun instinctively turned around — only to realize it wasn't the enemy who had disappeared… it was himself!
The moment Chun launched his attack, Shinji had simply clapped his hands.
Instantly, the two of them swapped places.
Now Shinji and Hidan were facing Chou, while Sasuke stood roughly four meters directly in front of Chun.
At this moment, Chun still didn't realize how serious the situation was.
Deep down, he was even delighted — now he could just twist this little brat's head right off!
The very second that thought formed in his mind, Sasuke activated his Mangekyō Sharingan.
"Amaterasu!"
Pitch‑black flames instantly erupted and completely engulfed Chun.
He let out a blood‑curdling scream!
Steel Release?
Even real, molten steel would melt and boil away under the fire of Amaterasu!
"What kind of fire is this?! It burns! Brother — help me!"
Chun rolled desperately on the ground, trying to put the fire out.
But the flames of Amaterasu could not be extinguished — not until everything they touched was completely burned to ash.
"Brother!! What did you do to my brother?!"
Chou's eyes turned bloodshot. He used his incredible speed to shake off Hidan and Shinji and rushed to his brother's side — but could only watch in horror, afraid to touch him.
He had already seen how terrifying those flames were; even the ground they touched caught fire and kept burning.
"Save me, brother! I don't wanna die!"
Chun's Steel Release did help in a way… it simply prolonged the burning process — which meant he had to endure agony for much longer.
"It was you! That little brat must have done this!"
Chou was frantic. But then he noticed Sasuke, struggling slightly while maintaining the black flames.
If I kill him, my brother will be saved!
With that thought, Chou rushed at Sasuke at maximum speed, raising his short sickle high.
Die!
Squelch!
Blood splattered everywhere!
"IT HURTS, YOU BASTARD!"
Shinji had just clapped his hands — instantly swapping Hidan's position with that of the Kusanagi Sword, which Sasuke had stabbed into the ground earlier.
As a modified Cursed Tool, the sword perfectly met the conditions required for Unjust Game to activate.
And unlucky Hidan… ended up getting stabbed straight through the heart by the enemy's weapon this time.
Ignoring the pain, Hidan gripped Chou's arms tightly, blood running down his chin, grinning savagely.
"Gotcha now, you little rat running around everywhere!"
"Let go! Let go of me!"
Chou struggled furiously. He never expected something like this could happen — which was exactly why he got caught so easily.
And that "bastard" he shouted about? He was actually cursing Shinji!
Hidan decided he would settle this score properly with Shinji after they finished killing these two brothers!
CRACK!
Hidan forcefully snapped both of Chou's arms right out of their sockets.
"AAAAHHHHHH!!!"
Chou screamed in pure agony.
Then — a flash of cold steel!
Shinji appeared behind him and cut his head clean off with a single stroke.
As Chou's spinning vision finally settled on the ground nearby, his brother's screams slowly faded away.
Chun had become the first "lucky" victim to die from Amaterasu.
In the original story, Amaterasu was called "the fire of mercy" because it never actually managed to kill anyone.
But that was just an illusion.
Now reality had proven it clearly: if you get burned by it… you die.
Haa… Seeing both enemies dead, Sasuke immediately closed his left eye, breathing heavily.
Amaterasu consumed immense energy. Every time he used it, he felt like his whole body was drained dry.
To put it simply, his chakra reserves and ocular power just weren't high enough yet.
Even so, Sasuke felt incredibly excited.
He had personally killed a powerful enemy!
Just a few months ago, even using every trick he knew, he wouldn't have been able to even scratch opponents like these.
But now… he could summon black flames and burn them alive.
How could he not be thrilled with such progress?!
Meanwhile, Hidan was less than happy.
"I had him! I already caught him!"
"Oh?"
"You actually teleported me over just to take a stab for the kid?!"
"Mhm."
"DAMMIT! Today I'm gonna cut you down for real!"
"Come on then."
"..."
Hidan fumed. He raised his Blood Scythe high… but couldn't bring himself to swing it down.
Finally, he just threw out a tough line: "Today… I'll let you off… out of respect for Tobi!"
Tobi — who had been standing well back at a safe distance the whole time, doing absolutely nothing — immediately chimed in:
"Huh? Me? What respect do I have? I only have a mask! Go for it, Hidan‑san! Don't hold back on my account! I believe in you! Go, go, go!"
"..."
Hidan felt incredibly awkward. Why was it so hard to get a simple way out?
Luckily Shinji didn't press the matter.
"Tobi — clean up the bodies. Corpses of people with rare Bloodline Limits should sell for quite a high price."
Shinji wasted absolutely nothing. Tobi sighed inwardly but obeyed.
Although Shinji possessed the Shadow Pocket, it had nasty side effects — who knew when it might bite his hand off?
For tasks like this, Tobi's abilities were far more convenient!
After the bodies were taken care of, Shinji actually praised Sasuke a few times — a rare thing indeed.
Sasuke became so pumped up and energized that he wished for ten or eight more enemies to show up so he could "warm up" some more.
Nothing special… he was just getting a little too proud and overconfident.
