Chapter 90: Neighbors Dropping By!
The clock hand moved slowly, finally pointing to exactly 2 o'clock.
At that moment, Johnny snapped his eyes open, as if awakening from a long, drawn-out dream.
He gave a long stretch, yawned, walked over to the basin, and quickly washed up with some cool water.
After finishing, Johnny quickly donned his gear and began a new day's journey.
Bill was on watch duty today, standing at the entrance with his gaze fixed on the distance.
Seeing Johnny rush out of the camp on horseback, Bill couldn't help but shake his head, sighing to himself:
"This guy is really busy! Who knows where he's rushing off to for an adventure now."
Before long, Johnny arrived in front of the Valentine saloon.
A group of people was gathered in front of the saloon, each mounted on a fine horse; from a distance, they looked like a massive dark shadow standing there.
As he drew closer, Johnny could clearly see the figures in the crowd—it turned out Arthur and Oliver had already been waiting on horseback for quite some time.
"Hey, Johnny!" Arthur shouted impatiently the moment he saw him.
"I swear, next time I'm making you get a taste of being a teacher! It's absolute torture, so painful!"
"You must have had a very pleasant couple of days, haven't you? You've barely been seen in all of Valentine!"
Facing Arthur's teasing, Johnny simply rolled his eyes and replied crossly:
"What do you know? I've been discussing important matters with the Boss these past few days."
"I've got some good news for you: before long, we'll be heading to that Tahiti you've been dreaming about. Well, Arthur, shouldn't you be happy now?"
???????
Arthur had a look of total confusion on his face:
"Tahiti? Didn't we just get to Valentine? Did he change his mind?"
Johnny wanted to leave the surprise for Arthur to discover himself, so he didn't answer. Instead, he turned back to the crowd and said:
"Gentlemen, I have a good plan. Everyone here will be responsible for shooting the guns out of the enemies' hands or breaking their limbs, to provide the best shooting experience for our Mr. Robin Hood."
Hearing this, Oliver grew even more excited, so much so that he couldn't help but grip the handle of his revolver tightly, as if afraid it might suddenly vanish.
His fingers turned slightly white from the exertion, but he didn't notice at all.
At the same time, he kept taking out the cylinder of his Schofield, carefully checking if the bullets inside were fully loaded.
His movements were stiff and clumsy, and every check seemed exceptionally serious, as if it were a matter of life and death.
At this moment, Oliver looked exactly like a child about to go to an amusement park.
His originally serious face was now filled with anticipation, as if the word 'expectation' was written clearly across it.
Before long, led by Johnny, the group arrived at a spot not far from Six Point Cabin.
Just then, John, who had been staying alert, suddenly sensed the sound of hoofbeats approaching from the distance.
With years of experience and excellent observation skills, he realized that quite a few horses were approaching.
So, John quickly picked up the binoculars beside him and looked in the direction of the sound. When he saw who was coming, the heavy weight in his heart finally lifted.
It turned out the newcomers were Arthur and another companion.
A moment later, everyone dismounted and walked quickly to the observation camp where John was.
Among them, Oliver impatiently stepped forward first, reached out to pat Johnny's shoulder, and said solemnly, "I'll follow your lead for everything in this operation!"
Johnny didn't respond immediately. Instead, he walked forward to John's side, stopped, and asked with concern:
"John, has anything unexpected happened during these past few hours?"
John replied calmly and without changing his expression:
"Hey, don't worry, Johnny! It's really nothing major.
It's just that two unlucky souls stumbled upon these guys and got robbed.
Those two are now locked in the small cabin over there, and as for the stolen goods, they're all placed by the edge of the camp."
Hearing John's words, Johnny felt a slight sense of relief but still didn't dare to let his guard down.
He quickly pulled his binoculars from his satchel and began to observe carefully in the direction John had pointed.
He was shocked by what he saw—it turned out the items John mentioned were actually a complete set of brand-new brewing equipment!
It was truly a case of finding something by chance after searching in vain for so long!
Johnny's eyes lit up instantly, his excitement plain to see.
But he quickly calmed down and immediately turned to whisper to his companions behind him:
"Listen up, everyone! Be extremely careful. Do not shoot the wagon carrying the brewing equipment under any circumstances! That's precious cargo!"
Hearing Johnny's warning, everyone turned their gaze to the wagon and nodded in unison, showing they understood.
Then, Johnny turned back to Oliver, who was standing aside and eager to go, and said with a smile:
"Haha, come on, our brave Mr. Robin Hood! Today's show is exactly what you've been dreaming of.
I think it's more appropriate to hand the command over to you.
Just give the word on when to start the attack, and we'll charge in and give these bandits a proper fight!"
Already unable to contain his excitement, Oliver waved his hand forcefully, signaling his Bodyguards to spread out and prepare for a direct assault.
Meanwhile, Johnny followed closely by Oliver's side, advancing with careful steps while not forgetting to turn and instruct Kieran, who was standing at the rear:
"Kieran, this operation is crucial. You need to be on high alert and ensure Arthur's safety is absolutely guaranteed!"
He was truly worrying himself sick for Kieran's sake; in truth, Johnny could have avoided the trouble of this operation entirely.
However, he couldn't bear to rob Kieran of what should have been his moment of glory, so he could only give him repeated, careful instructions.
