Chapter 7 - INTERLUDE 4:

Understand that,

this life is a journey of discernment between two destinations shaped by our choices, influence, and alignment.

Across this journey, the role of the human heart is to make choices, whisper motivations, and act as the spiritual eyes for the soul. When it is clear, the soul sees truth and walks with direction. But when it is covered with the dust of corruption, its sight is gradually distorted.

Allah SWT said in the Holy Quran:

"For indeed, it is not the eyes that are blind, but the hearts within the chests that grow blind." (Surah Al-Hajj, 22:46)

Just as dust affects physical sight, the heart is affected by:

-- repeated wrongdoing,

-- unchecked desires,

-- arrogance or denial,

-- constant distraction from remembrance.

These spiritual dust of wrongdoings do not destroy the heart instantly; they layer over it. And gradually: clarity reduces, truth feels distant, wrong begins to look normal. When that buildup continues, people can see reality outwardly but misinterpret it inwardly.

Just as dust in the eye leads to distorted movement, and blindness leads to loss of direction,

likewise:

-- Corruption in the heart leads to distorted judgment.

-- Blindness of the heart leads to wandering without guidance.

A blind eye limits movement, but a blind heart misguides the entire being. For the body follows what the heart perceives, and when perception is corrupted, the path itself becomes lost.

Think of a situation where a person has dust or particles in their eyes, then tends to it with a dusty hand, a dirty finger, or peppery water; which could eventually lead to blindness.

But in our situation, it is the heart that is the eye and the soul that is the body.

The dust that affects the heart; which is the eye of the soul; is created by continuous indulgence in practices against the command of Allah SWT and repeated wrongdoings. Without cleaning the dust with sincere repentance away from those deeds, the dust spreads, slowly and slowly with further indulgence in those practices, until it conquers the eye, blinds it, and puts the soul on the free lane of the misguided; where many no longer see their wrong choices as wrong. They wander blindly while they think they are rightly guided.

Allah SWT spoke about the spiritual disease that affects those who repeatedly reject good guidance and turn away from truth. He said:

"But in their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease." (Quran 2:10)

Know that there are different categories of these defiantly disobedient practices as categorized in the above-listed sinful and defiantly disobedient practices.

But the acceptance, justification, and indulgence in these practices; either minor or major; without discernment and without seeking forgiveness of Allah SWT is where the silent diversion into the Inescapable punishment begins for many of the descendants of Adam. Accompanied by the manipulative whispers of the ordained devil companion that makes beautiful to them other ungodly practices if the former fails, further amplified by the future rejection of truth and Divine guidance.

When you forget Allah SWT in your choices and delve into disbelief and defiantly disobedient practices for gains; or pleasure; or to feed fleeting desires, or indulge in them out of ignorance but reject truth when it is made clear to you, then the dust on the heart begins to accumulate. Slowly and slowly. Until they get to the stage where they can no longer recognize truth or accept it when it is made clear to them.

This is the most dangerous stage: when the warning of Allah SWT no longer stirs the heart.

When the heart loses clarity, the soul does not stop moving.

It continues to move, but without direction.

That is how people forget themselves in sin. They begin to:

-- chase illusions for gains and validation,

-- mistake what harms their soul for benefit,

-- move in cycles while they think they are progressing.

There is an adage that says: "The peace of the tree is the peace of the bird."

The peace of your heart anchored in the obedience, guidance, and trust of Allah SWT is the peace of your soul - but many of us do not know.

A heart trained with holistic discernment in choices is the sound heart, and it enhances the just use of the brain to support the heart in judgment and choice making.

When the heart is sound, when it is clear, the soul sees truth and walks with direction. A person becomes attentive. They value truth, reflect deeply, discipline their desires. That is how thinking sharpens, learning improves, decision‑making becomes clearer, and the path forward aligns with the decree of Allah SWT.

But when the heart is covered with the dust of sinful practices and corruption‑rooted choices, its sight becomes distorted. And when it eventually turns blind to truth, the soul continues to move - but wanders without guidance, mistaking illusion for reality.

Know that, even those smallest deeds you ignore, and how you choose when no one is watching also reveal your state of belief.

-- Do you pray sincerely and fervently daily, anchored in good work and sincere fear of Allah in dealings?

-- Do you make choices that are not in line with Divine order?

-- Do you choose honesty when it costs you?

-- Do you walk away from forbidden ease that brings the wrath of Allah SWT even when it is considered right by many?

-- Do you trust in slow provision with sincere prayer and return to the WORD of ALLAH?

-- Do you bow to idols, and pray to intercessors, and practice polytheism and think no one sees you?

-- Do you return deeper into Allah SWT after failure and adversity, or go deeper into ERROR‑ROOTED CHOICES because you lack faithfulness?

The truth is, most of the people who justify, accept, and indulge in sinful and corruption‑rooted practices without remorse, and those who reject guidance when it is made clear to them think they are smart or wise enough to have neglected and bypass the command of Allah SWT for gains and temporary fulfillment. But no! They have only foolishly neglected the future unseen spiritual consequences of their own disobedience on their individual souls; while many think they are on the right path.

What many of us do not know is that, the punishments of Allah SWT does not usually arrive suddenly, or instantly, as many of us might think. Nor will they necessarily come upon this generation like they came upon the former people.

Across generations, the Judgement of Allah SWT did not come upon people merely for isolated deeds.

People are judged after: time, reminders, opportunities, warnings, reflection, continuous indulgence, repeated openings for repentance.

The punishment of Allah SWT is not abrupt injustice. It comes after sustained mercy.

That is why the door of sincere repentance is never closed until the soul reaches the collarbone and it is certain that it is the Day of return.

But the tragedy is that many deny the nearer punishments when it meets them because they cannot recognize it as the cause-and-effect of their own disobedient choices against Divine order.

They see the cease phase, the loss, the warning signs, the ailment from illegal indulgence,

and instead say:

"It is a season of bad business.

Humans are wicked.

Men are deceitful.

Women are wicked.

It is the economy.

It is the handiwork of my competitors.

It is the work of the enemy.

It is the devil.

God is not favourable to me."

Yet they never blame their wrong choices, and still, never repent sincerely away from their wrongdoings and instead would delve deeper into other errornous choices.

That is the hardness of heart.

When you know the consequences of your disbelief, defiance, sinful indulgence, but instead indulge in the practices and act like you don't know because of the gains and temporary fulfilments, that is hypocrisy; which is another worse version of sin. As it comprises of (arrogance+disbelief+defiance).

The biggest tragedy is that many people in our today's generation still indulge in many of those above-listed practices without sincere fear of Allah SWT, considering them as normal because society has justified them. Whereas countless people; both from among the former people and from among the people of our today's generation; have died in these practices without sincere repentance, not knowing the weight of what they carry into the grave and into the Hereafter.

That is why the door of repentance remains open until the soul reaches the collarbone.

For those who are still alive but justify and indulge in evil deeds, celebrate disobedience to the commandments of Allah SWT, spread corruption upon the earth surface, and have considered practices against the commandments of Allah SWT as normal; either for monetary gain, for temporary pleasure, out of ignorance, out of disbelief, out of hypocrisy, or because it was justified by the ancestors before you; without sincere repentance, we must ask ourselves:

-- If Allah SWT can create the heavens without a single crack and without pillars, can He not resurrect you after death and ask you what you have done with the little time He gave you on earth?

-- If Allah SWT can create you from nothing when you were in between your father's waistline, can He not hold you accountable for your wrongdoings?

Then can He not reward you for your good deeds amongst humanity?

But the unrepentant one who refuses the five daily prayers, who mocks the sincere worship of Allah SWT, who chooses the shortcut over patient, truthful work, who lived by spreading corruption upon the earth surface; will eventually discover that the very earth they polluted with their arrogant and disobedient choices will turn against them.

Allah SWT said in the Holy Quran:

"O [mankind], fear your Lord, and fear a day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life DELUDE you, and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver." (Quran 31:33)

"And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be taken from it, nor will they be aided." (Quran 2:123)

"O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,"

(Quran 82:6)

"Indeed, Allah is Knower of the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and earth. Indeed, He is knowing of that within the breasts."

(Quran 35:38)

"Nay! Verily, man does transgress (in disbelief and evil deed),

Because he considers himself self-sufficient."

(Quran 96:6-7)

"And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they turn away therefrom." (Quran 36:46)

"Then do they not look at what is before them and what is behind them of the heaven and earth? If Allah SWT should will, He could cause the earth to swallow them or [could] let fall upon them fragments from the sky. Indeed in that is a sign for every servant turning back [to Allah]." (Quran 34:9)

"And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed." (Quran 24:31)

"And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with an even balance. That is the best way and best in result." (Quran 17:35)

"And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart; about all those [one] will be questioned." (Quran 17:36)

"And do not be like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient."

(Quran 59:19)

"And whoever is blinded from the remembrance of the Most Merciful; Allah appoints to him a devil, and he is to him a companion. And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are rightly guided."

(Quran 43:36-37)

The neglect of fervent prayer, turning away from the remembrance of Allah SWT, not remembering the Day of Accountability in your dealings with others; these are the worst of the above‑listed sinful practices, because that is the root of forgetfulness and derailment.

Allah SWT does not force those who are defiantly disobedient or disbelievers into repentance. Instead, He sends a devil to accompany them; whispering, justifying, beautifying their evil! so that they only opt for continuation in evil. The devil companion encourages their ego, justifies the sinful practices, makes evil look good and needful.

Their disobedience led to forgetfulness because they have been rendered senseless in decision‑making, thinking they are making wise choices while they are on the wrong track to ruin.

Allah SWT said to the devil:

"And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers, and become a partner in their wealth and their children, and promise them." But Satan does not promise them except delusion. (Surah Al-Isra, 17:64)

The job of the devil companion when ordained; after the person has forgotten Allah SWT and diverted into corruption-rooted practices is to continue to make beautiful to its human companion what is before them and what is after them; of sin; and silently lead them away from their true life purpose. But most of these people never know. They follow the devil's error whispers because the sin feels right to them and is justified by their already‑compromised inner criterion, thereby making further wrong choices feel needful; while they think they are rightly guided.

It is hard for these people to differentiate the whispers of the devil; inclining them to indulge in beautified illusions; from Divine guidance that incline them toward truth and leads them to the path of light and bounty reward from Allah SWT without displacement; because they lack the sincere fear of Allah SWT. And it is hard for those who forget Allah SWT and divulge into disobedience to return to alignment because many of them think they are on the right track while their heart and their soul have become enveloped by the weight of what they do.

Know that, when you are not anchored in sincere, fervent daily prayers, and indulge in disobedient and sinful practices that have put you on the path to ruin without sincere reflection and repentance, you are thereby slowly removed from your own reality.

These are people that believe they are on the right path, on their destined path. Whereas, unknown to them, they are only being led into an inescapable ruin by their devil companion; as many accept each error whisper, justify it, make the choice, and venture into the practice without discernment and without thinking about the punishments of Allah SWT that is as inescapable and as 'Certain Death' itself.

When these people are warned they reject warning, and instead rejoice in the error that have been fed to them of knowledge.
