Chapter 64 - 64: Gu Yue: It was Tang San!

The bright beam of light that had just cut through the night, followed by the thunderous roar of the dormitory walls falling apart, was like a sudden clap of thunder. It instantly shattered the peace of the holiday night at Donghai Academy.

Most of the teachers and students had already left for the break, but there were still a few people staying behind. This terrifying noise jolted everyone awake from their sleep or meditation.

Wu Changkong was the first to react. Like a streak of white lightning, he moved across the campus in a few quick leaps to reach the source of the noise.

The first thing he saw was the massive crater outside the dormitory building and the deep cracks in the ground. He leaned down to check the pit, feeling two different types of powerful energy still hanging in the air.

Wu Changkong realized how terrifying the energy was as his expression became very serious. He looked up, following the path from the crater to the huge hole in the dormitory wall; he realized it led straight to the room of Tang Wulin.

He felt a surge of panic and pushed his spirit power to the limit. His body became a blur as he rushed toward the damaged building at high speed.

He reached the door of the dormitory in seconds and burst inside, his eyes searching for the bed. He saw Tang Wulin lying there safely with his eyes closed. The boy was breathing evenly, his chest rising and falling as if he were in a deep, peaceful sleep.

Seeing that his student was not hurt, Wu Changkong felt the tension in his heart relax a little. But then, he realized something was wrong.

He wondered how Tang Wulin could possibly sleep through such a loud and violent explosion so close to his bed. He stepped forward and shook the shoulder of the boy, calling his name in a low voice.

Tang Wulin let out a sleepy sound and slowly opened his eyes. When he saw Wu Changkong standing there, he looked surprised and confused, asking why his teacher was in his room.

Wu Changkong looked into his eyes and asked him in a deep voice if he had heard anything unusual. Tang Wulin blinked and tried to remember, then shook his head and said he had heard nothing.

The boy did not seem to be lying; his eyes were clear and full of the natural confusion of someone who had just woken up. Just then, a cold wind blew through the hole in the wall and into the room.

Tang Wulin pulled his neck back from the cold and turned to see where the wind was coming from. In the next second, his eyes went wide and he stood there completely stunned.

He saw that an entire section of his wall was missing. In its place was a jagged hole that let the moonlight and the night wind pour into the messy room.

His voice shook with shock as he struggled to understand what had happened to his room.

At the Donghai Spirit Pagoda, Gu Yue was in her own room. The night was dark and quiet, but she had no interest in sleeping. She stood by the window, looking out at the city, but her mind was elsewhere.

She knew that by this time, Di Tian should have already made his move against Tang Wulin. She thought about how her power would grow once she had the bloodline of the Golden Dragon King.

She believed that with that power, her plan to save the spirit beast race would finally have a chance to succeed. As she was thinking about these possibilities, the air behind her suddenly began to shake.

Gu Yue turned around quickly and saw the space in the center of the room tear open. A tall figure tumbled out of the hole and fell heavily onto the floor with a dull thud.

When she saw who it was, her face turned pale with shock. The person lying on the ground in such a weak state was Di Tian.

His face was as white as paper and dark gold blood was dripping from his mouth onto the floor. It was a terrifying sight.

Even worse was the wound on his chest. He was trying to cover it with his hand, but Gu Yue could see a hole the size of a fist.

The black scales that usually protected him were shattered, showing the bone and meat underneath. At the edge of the wound, there were spots of blue and gold light that seemed to be stopping his body from healing.

Gu Yue walked closer and could feel the energy without even touching him. Her expression became cold and solemn.

She realized that the light spots were not made of spirit power, but a much higher form of energy. She stood up straight and whispered the words "divine force" with a look of anger in her eyes.

Di Tian struggled to sit up despite the terrible pain that felt like it was tearing his soul apart. He looked at Gu Yue with a mix of fear and guilt for failing his mission.

His voice was hoarse and weak as he told her that it was the Sea God. He explained that there was a protection left inside the body of Tang Wulin.

He coughed as he told her that the injury was caused by something called the Seagod's Light. He then explained everything that had happened at the academy in great detail.

When she heard the name of the Sea God, Tang San, her expression became even more serious. In her old memories, the Dragon God had been defeated by the Asura Sword.

She knew that Tang San was the human who had taken the power of both the Sea God and the Asura God. Even as the Silver Dragon King, she felt a lot of pressure thinking about such a powerful enemy.

Di Tian breathed heavily as he told her that the bloodline of the Golden Dragon King would be very hard to take because of this protection.

Gu Yue was silent for a long time as she thought about the situation. Finally, she spoke and said she finally understood why a human had that bloodline.

She looked out at the night sky and said that Tang San was clearly the one behind everything. She noted that if the God Realm was still there, they would have no chance against him.

But since the God Realm had disappeared, the power he left behind was limited and would run out eventually. She believed that if they planned carefully, they could still succeed.

The eyes of Di Tian brightened a little when he heard this. He knew that his Lord was the Silver Dragon King and was just as strong as any god.

He felt a little better about his failure and told her that she was wise. Gu Yue turned back to look at the terrible wound on his chest.

She told him his injuries were very bad and offered to use her power to help him heal from the Seagod's Light.

Di Tian shook his head immediately and told her not to do it. He said her power was still sealed and healing him would hurt her own origin.

He told her that he could return to the Star Dou Forest and use the Lake of Life to slowly heal himself over time. He begged her to focus on her own recovery for the sake of their race.

Gu Yue looked at his firm and loyal eyes and remained silent for a moment. Finally, she agreed and said she would call Bi Ji to take him back home.

Di Tian thanked her and then asked what they should do about Tang Wulin. Gu Yue let out a slow breath and said that she would handle that part of the plan herself.
