Eli sensed the eerie stretch in the air at the same time; she felt his breath crashing through the air in the car.
She wanted to ask but the sense of awe was prohibiting her from doing so.
The place went silent, Tristan's eyes were fixed on the road but his mind was reflecting differently, he was lost in something perilous that he was guarding.
His silence was crushing her sanity, she was not allowing herself but she was desperate to know what was going on in his mind.
She gulped her hesitation and dared to ask, "Is everything alright" Her few words just melted the thick ice over his mind.
He abruptly subsided the thing that was going on with him and turned to her with a glistening smile, " You don't have any idea about that power you hold," his smile got profound, and his gaze lingered on her face still.
"You grabbed me out of the void, what are you having in you?" He said and her breath hitched, and her cheeks blushed, she looked down as she sensed his intentions.
"Stop Tristan," she sneaks a glance and tries to look out.
But suddenly when she looked inside she saw his eyes were stuck on her with something in them for her.
Her breath stopped the atmosphere changed and she became still with the stillness of his gaze.
She politely turned her gaze down and Tristan smiled as he saw her doing that
"How much time is left....," Tristan asked to shift the atmosphere.
She finally found her voice, took a slow and deep breath brushing away her hesitation.
"It's going to be a long time," she let out the weight of numbers hanging in the air, "Nearly 3 years,"
"And probably yours is going to end, right?" She asked and he smiled while nodding.
"How are you going to survive without me?" Suddenly his words stunned her.
"What.... What?" Her heart stammered and she kept roaming her gaze.
"I don't know how long you are going to deny it," he let out, "but I will make you mine one day," Tristan says it loud and she gulped her as her heart is a drum.
" I ..... I don't understand....," she whispered, and the sound of her breath while her blood was overwrought as her blood rushed through her veins and arteries as she felt his gaze moving on her body.
"But I understand everything," he said softly, "and you do not have to," he turned his gaze to the road and Eli gasped as her fingers were brushing too hard on the back of her hand.
" When will you be available?" Tristan asked and grabbed her attention instantly.
" This week is not possible, tomorrow is a full-day stint," she said and Tristan gasped as he didn't want her to do that.
She saw him grinding his jaw and asked. "What happened?" He smiled and tried to fix his let out.
"Nothing," he took a pace and then breathed with some words.
"Why do you want to do this job?" He asked and she smiled.
"Clearly, to support myself, my family," she replied and her tone was calm and courteous.
" And if you find someone who would support you and your little family then?" He asked and she smiled lightly.
"Then I have no idea about that, but for now I want to stay here where I am right now," Elysia said and Tristan smirked to hear her thoughts.
He stopped his car in front of her door and Eli came out and looked inside the window while standing outside.
"Should I?" A question crawled through her mind.
" Would it be perceived as grace or a foolish invitation?" Her eyes were flickering as she looked into his face.
"And if I won't ask then it would be rude?" She was in a war of thunder with her mind.
But she has to make a move so he wouldn't feel awkward.
"Would you care to.... come inside?" That was a brittle invitation and she was hoping for his decline but a slow knowing smile spread across his lips.
"A good deed requires no counsel," he remarked and immediately opened his car's door, Eli was frozen there while her floor was empty she was not able to feel anything at that instance.
"What.... Why.....?" She stepped with open eyes as she heard a ghost.
Tristan heard her and smirked slightly. "Eli, what happened you just said that," he asked while trying not to burst into laughter.
" I... I said that.....," Her mind was frantic
"Yes, you said that now shall we....?", he walked to her and clutched her arm,m and then stepped towards the door of her house.
Eli was giving him the look of sinister as he rang the bell on the door.
"The keys....," she muttered, and fishing them from her pocket, her fingers brushed against his as he took them from her hand.
"My grandpa better be sleeping," she said, giving a tight smile.
"Impressive....." He retorted. "I am quite eager to meet him....," Tristan said and unlocked the door, they moved in and Eli took off her shoes and took out a pair of flip flops from the cabinet.
As they moved into the foyer, a scent of familiar wood and herbs met them. That was the place where a short aisle led, on one side, stairs took steps upwards, and at the bottom was a place to store shoes and clothes.
"Am I not getting one?" Tristan asked, arching his brows, and she couldn't help but smile faintly, her lips curving upward.
"And why would you need them? You are a guest....," Eli said and Tristan's mock frown was deepening his face.
"And if I don't want to be a guest then?" Tristan countered his voice dropping to a low.
"But you are... She was letting out but then stopped instantly. Just for today....," she smiled and cherished.
"Now, this is a sentiment I could grow fond of, but still not convinced, give me the ones," he said. Elysia reached back into the cabinet and pulled out a fresh pair, she moved to set them near his feet but before she could reach the floor he moved at a sudden jarring speed. He dropped down, his fingers locking around hers as he snatched the shoes from her hands. .
"What are you doing?" His eyes were questioning and her breath got hitched.
He took them from her hands and placed them precisely near his feet.
" Don't ever do this again....," he said she saw him turning into a capricious state, she nodded while perplexity was clear on her face.
She watches him abide by all the rules she sets in her life.
"Have you ever done this before for anyone?" An unusual question with stray thoughts.
"Can you delineate it?" He frowned his voice was a low rasp. Her lips tug into a brave smile.
"I mean I am chuffed to see this sight of you, a man of wealth, a man who is always cogent, so controlled, and suddenly, you overturned everything, you changed.....," she paused and their eyes locked in together.
"You changed for me....," she finished softly.
"I never saw this coming," Tristan admitted. " I have no clue I don't know when or how, or where, I only know, I wanted all this.....," He gasped and moved closer, "All of this...., he breathed near the tip of her nose," bending himself to her.
"Tristan when will you stop making me so nervous?" Her eyelashes fluttered as she looked forward towards the floor, desperate to find an escape.
"I don't do this to unnerve you," he smirks. "This is my way to adore you," he murmured, and she gasped while pressing her fingers on her palm.
"Okay, if you are comfortable then we should move in right?" She asked and he nodded his eyes never leaving her face. "Anytime my dear, "
They moved in, and that was an average launch. The couch was placed in the middle, and a television was hung on the wall.
Beneath their feet a foggy grey carpet spreads immaculately across the floor the place was beautifully embellished, the walls acting as a gallery for her life. Everywhere Tristan looked, he saw Elysia captured in photographs with her grandfather, laughing with friends, her history laid bare in frozen moments of silver and gold frames.
The large windows stood sentinel behind the couch offering a clear, unobstructed view of the courtyard.
"Impressive....," Tristan gasped catching his throat as he grabbed her attention.
"I imagine your mansion is far superior to this modest space," Eli frowned with a teasing smile.
"My mansion is indeed capacious, it is luxurious, perhaps stupendous but it lacks the serendipity that I felt here," Tristan looked into Eli's eyes, she was stuck in her place.
"I feel a profound serenity here,..... in you....," he let out and his gaze pricked against her pristine skin.
"Tristan ....," She huffed and sneaked her gaze and hid her ragged breath.
"Are we having a guest today? You didn't mention it?" Suddenly a fine-looking old man comes from upstairs and enters the launch with quiet dignity, he was short stature with the hair color of frost winter and a broad, his forehead was creased and furrowed, he opened his hooded eyelids to see properly, his eyes were blue and his brows stood wiry and erratic, his skin was pale as pressed flowers, but all the imperfections were concealed by his endearing smile.
He was wearing a crisp grey Oxford shirt and heavy brown wool trousers for the bottom, his flip flops were struggling while he was stepping closer.
"Here's my grandpa.....," Eli looked away while smiling.
Her grandpa stops and suddenly his smile fades, his furrowed brows were catching a malevolent presence.
"Eli...," he gasped and Elysia turned as she didn't hear anything from her grandpa.
" Go upstairs.....," Her grandpa was talking in a very unusual tone, that she had never seen coming from him.
