Finally, Ellen realized the harsh words Flint had spoken. She immediately let go of Bastian's hand and turned around to look for Flint. Indirectly, Flint wanted to ask her out because he still owed her 200 cents for buying her a beautiful dress. What was she supposed to do now? How could she find Flint when he was nowhere to be seen?
She slowly backed away from Bastian with a nervous expression. "I'm sorry."
Bastian swallowed nervously as he grabbed Ellen's hand. "Why are you apologizing all of a sudden?"
"Because I just remembered the mission I have to do with Jonathan. How stupid of me to forget the debt I owe him."
"So what about the dance party? It's about to start."
"No. I can't attend it with you. You'd better give it to another woman."
Now it was Bastian's turn to feel heartbroken, his chest tightening. Indirectly, Ellen had now rejected him outright, despite previously being so enthusiastic about wanting to be his partner.
"But, you promised me!"
