In the midst of celebrating his victory with all his loved ones, Flint suddenly received a call from David. Initially beaming with joy, his expression turned grim after reading the simple text message.
Ellen also became uneasy seeing her lover's sudden gloomy expression. For a moment, she held his soft hand, trying to calm him down.
"What's wrong with you?"
Flint sighed heavily. "I don't think I can date you after this."
"It's okay. I don't mind."
"That's not really the problem. It's just that I'm too lazy to deal with my stepfather."
Bastian rested his chin on his hand. "Is he going to threaten you openly this time?"
"He just wants to talk to me."
"You should just meet him," Ellen suggested with a serious look.
Flint nodded to signal that he agreed and wanted to obey his lover's words.
"Okay, I'll meet him after lunch."
Alfonso raised his right hand. "Do you need me to be your bodyguard?"
