Chapter 85 - Chapter 85: A Small Gathering of avatars

Unlike Reze's eagerness, Makima's movements were elegant and unhurried, carrying a sense of control befitting a superior. One slender, slightly cool arm slipped under Su Modie's armpit and rested lightly on her chest, gently pulling the whole girl into her own embrace.

Immediately after, Makima's soft body pressed up against her from behind, perfectly filling the last bit of space.

"Move over... a little, Reze."

Makima's voice was lazy and husky. Though phrased as a suggestion, it carried an undeniable tone of command.

"No, you're the one crowding us."

Not to be outdone, Reze hugged even tighter, even provocatively nuzzling against Su Modie's chest.

Su Modie lay stiffly in the middle, feeling like an Oreo cookie about to melt.

Two equally stunningly charming bodies, separated from her by only a thin layer of fabric, had her firmly wedged between them.

The sensation of skin against skin was slick and soft, strands of hair tangled together, indistinguishable as to whose was whose.

If Su Modie moved even slightly, she would bump into Reze's knee or Makima's arm.

"Alright... sleep, time to sleep..."

Su Modie weakly tried to maintain order, her voice sounding a bit breathless due to the pressure on her chest.

"Goodnight, Modie-chan."

Reze rubbed her chin against Su Modie's, perfectly content.

"Goodnight, Master."

Makima whispered in Su Modie's ear, her lips brushing faintly against her earlobe, sending a tingling shiver through her.

Su Modie closed her eyes, feeling the heavy weight of affection pressing in from both sides.

This treatment of having one's arms around two beauties was indeed the dream of countless people, the pinnacle of happiness. But... could someone please tell her how to endure this sweet torture—where she couldn't even roll over, her arms were gradually going numb, and she had to constantly worry about them getting into a fight in the middle of the night—until dawn!

...The next day... noon.

It was a rare weekend. Sunlight flooded the midday dining room, forcing Kumashi to hide in the shadows of the storage room.

Lux had also just returned from her training at Kamar-Taj, having changed out of her form-fitting mage attire into loose, comfortable home clothes.

The five of them sat around the table, which was piled high with paper bags bearing the Golden Arches logo.

They chatted animatedly while eating, the air thick with the sinful aroma of fries, burgers, and gossip.

"I just couldn't stay at that convenience store anymore,"

Reze said nonchalantly as she unwrapped a Big Mac, a hint of laziness in her tone. "There were always a few idiot guys trying to hit on me, making the place feel grimy. And I couldn't just blow them up... McDonalds is much better."

Welcome to McDonalds~

She pushed a large box of freshly cooked Chicken McNuggets in front of Su Modie, her eyes curved into happy crescents:

"The manager now is really nice. She knows I have a little glutton at home who loves junk food, so she gives me a great employee discount. Modie-chan, these are just fried, eat them while they're hot."

Although Su Modie wanted to refute this statement, she honestly didn't know where to start. She did love eating... "Little glutton" Su Modie unceremoniously stuffed one into her mouth, her face beaming with happiness.

The continuous feeding of high-calorie food had a noticeable effect. Her originally thin cheeks had now plumped up slightly, gaining a soft, squishy roundness.

Makima propped her chin on one hand, her golden eyes fixed on Su Modie's puffed-out cheeks. She didn't eat or speak, but simply extended a slender finger to gently pinch Su Modie's cheek, as if playing with a piece of fine, soft jade.

"Mmm... Makima, stop pinching... it hurts..."

Su Modie protested indistinctly, but didn't pull away, letting everyone enjoy this rare weekend leisure.

Just as everyone was eating happily, Lux wiped some ketchup from her mouth and looked at Su Modie with excitement.

"Oh, right, Sister Su Modie! The Sorcerer Ancient One said I've been performing exceptionally well lately and specially gave me a new magical artifact to play with!"

"Oh?" Before Su Modie could say anything, Perona, who was busy swallowing fries, leaned over. "Let me see?"

"Look!"

Lux said, tugging hard from the magic pouch behind her—

"CLANG!!!"

A heavy metallic clang rang out. The entire solid wood table shook violently, and the ice in the soda cups clattered.

A double-bladed greataxe with an ancient design and a chilling gleam now sat conspicuously among the McDonalds wrappers.

Eerie magical patterns flowed along the axe blade, and the aura of solemn killing it emitted instantly overpowered the scent of fried chicken.

"This is the Axe of Angarrumus!" Lux said, holding the axe handle with one hand, her smile bright and sunny. "Isn't it cool? I think it feels much more natural to swing than a staff!"

The Chicken McNugget in Su Modie's mouth nearly got stuck in her throat.

She stared wide-eyed at the axe, then at the innocent-looking Lux, momentarily at a loss for words.

As a Marvel fan, Su Modie naturally recognized the weapon before her.

The Axe of Angarrumus.

In the comics, this was Doctor Strange's prized treasure, kept for emergencies. Whenever Stephen Strange found chanting incantations too troublesome or when his magic was drained, he would grab this axe, transform into a Master of physical purification, and hack away at villains until they questioned their life choices.

It even made a cameo in the movie *Doctor Strange 1*—when Stephen was brawling with Kaecilius in the corridor of the Sanctum Sanctorum, he got so worked up he tried to grab this axe from the wall, only to be yanked back by the Cloak of Levitation behind him.

That Cloak of Levitation was probably worried Stephen would stray from the path and become a terrifying close-combat mage.

Who would have thought, who would have thought... that this violent artifact, which even Doctor Strange couldn't get his hands on immediately, had ended up with Lux. And seeing how easily Lux's slender arm swung the massive axe... Su Modie figured the artifact must have already acknowledged her.

Su Modie's feelings were complicated for a moment.

On the happy side, it truly was a powerful magical artifact.

Since the Axe of Angarrumus acknowledged her, it meant Lux's talent and combat will had been affirmed. She definitely wouldn't be at a disadvantage in future fights.

But... Su Modie pictured the scene in her mind.

What if, in the future, Lux ran into her brother Garen again? In the middle of a fight, he turns around to see his originally delicate little sister suddenly pull out an enchanted greataxe twice his size from under her skirt, charging into the enemy ranks with maniacal laughter, hacking everyone to pieces... Garen would probably be scared enough to pop his eyeballs out on the spot.

Although it's not an axe, it's probably something like this... "Sister Su Modie?" Lux waved the axe. "What's wrong? Don't you like it?"

"No... it's great, really great." Su Modie swallowed, reached out to pat Lux's head, and said earnestly, "Promise me, if you ever see your brother in the future, try to... give him some psychological preparation before you whip it out."

What if Reze delivered takeout (not really)
