Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: The Problem with the System

Luna directly questioned her System in her mind.

After all, she was a bit confused now as to why the Straw Hat Pirates were running so fast that they hadn't caught up in days.

But if there was anything magical about the Going Merry, it was the ship spirit that had already been born.

Especially on the night at Skypiea, she heard that special knocking sound and specifically went out to see it: a special energy sprite shaped like a little boy, wearing a yellow raincoat and holding a small wooden hammer, repairing the ship.

She witnessed it with her own eyes, and at that time, she couldn't help but marvel that the ship spirit was truly a magical creature, like a real, nimble sprite.

Soon, the System also answered her.

"Host, there is indeed a ship spirit's bonus, but you all let the other party run for a day first, and the Straw Hat Pirates didn't encounter any obstacles at all, whereas you all successively ran into several waves of Pirates and Marines."

"...? So, part of this is our own fault," Luna said with a bitter, helpless smile, not expecting it to be like this. "Oh, right, I completely forgot about the several waves of Pirates and Marines we've encountered over the past few days."

But at the same time, it also surprised her that the Straw Hat Pirates hadn't encountered any obstacles, meaning they had a smooth journey at sea.

It must be said, Luffy truly lives up to his title as a Child of Destiny; everything is God's arrangement.

"Then how far are we from them?" Luna asked curiously again.

"You are at least two and a half days' journey apart. In other words, the Straw Hat Pirates should arrive at Water Seven two and a half days before you."

The System answered Luna's question once more, but after Luna heard it, she was stunned, her small eyes widening beautifully and adorably.

Two and a half days, wouldn't that mean? By the time they arrived, wouldn't the Straw Hat Pirates already be fighting CP9 at Enies Lobby?

This... this timing is perfect.

Luna's eyes lit up, a wicked glint flashing in them, and a cruel smile appearing at the corner of her mouth.

Because by then, they would just catch up to the Marine's Buster Call. The Straw Hat Pirates at that time never directly confronted the Buster Call; at most, Luffy kicked a warship in half and broke many masts with one kick. Later, it was Onigumo, that bastard, who suddenly ordered cannons to be fired and even shot a Marine Soldier who tried to stop him.

The Straw Hat Pirates ultimately chose to escape; after all, they didn't have the ability to deal with the Buster Call.

But they did! This time, Luna vowed to devour the entire Buster Call, killing every single one of them, from Vice Admirals to ordinary soldiers.

But there was still one thing: she hadn't yet decided what kind of test to give Shana once they arrived at Water Seven.

And now, she had made up her mind... Time continued to flow, and things indeed unfolded as Luna herself had envisioned. When their Pink Hat Pirates were still a day and a half away from Water Seven.

The Straw Hat Pirates had already arrived at Water Seven, and before entering, Robin and Luffy had recovered, even earlier than expected, thanks to the Pink Hat Pirates' help with their treatment this time.

At the same time, they began their adventure.

The journey was exactly the same as in the original plot; even the arrival of a huge variable like Luna did not affect this part.

They met Yokozuna, Kokoro-baa, and Chimney before arriving at Water Seven. Nami, Usopp, and Luffy went to exchange gold for cash.

Robin went missing, actually encountering CP9 and being threatened, due to previous trauma and not wanting to implicate Luffy and the others.

Iceberg informed Luffy that the Going Merry couldn't be repaired, Usopp and Luffy argued, Usopp left the crew, Usopp dueled Luffy. That night, the Straw Hat Pirates stayed in an inn, and Iceberg was attacked.

The entire city of Water Seven learned of Iceberg's attack due to CP9's framing, and the straw hat crew was consequently wanted.

Franky returned, seeking to settle scores with Luffy. The Shipwrights also sought to settle scores with the straw hat crew.

Iceberg suddenly regained consciousness and revealed the truth, and the Straw Hat Pirates immediately went in pursuit.

By the second night of the Straw Hat Pirates' arrival in Water Seven, CP9 removed their masks, then Luffy and Zoro were sent flying by Lucci, while Sanji boarded the Sea Train. The straw hat crew learned the truth about Robin's departure, and the straw hat crew boarded the Rocket Man, rendezvoused with the Shipwrights, and the Franky Family headed to Enies Lobby.

And it was at this time that the Pink Hat Pirates finally arrived at Water Seven, but Luna had no interest in exploring this aquatic city before her.

After all, there was still a battle to be fought, a very satisfying, one-sided massacre.

And just then, the System once again assigned Luna a task, which immediately made her happy; it came at just the right time.

"Detecting that the Host will encounter special circumstances, the following tasks will be assigned to the Host."

"Destroy the Marine Buster Call. Reward: Two soul extraction lamps, one Special Bloodline."

"Flatten Enies Lobby and sink it into the sea. Reward: 20 tons of kaila giant crocodile meat, one Electric Web skill card from the Pokémon World."

"Slay Spandam and Spandine. Reward: 25 bb corn kernels, one guiding light."

Three tasks were assigned at once. After reading them, Luna felt they were all very simple.

Only the last one was a bit troublesome, which was that Spandine didn't seem to be at Enies Lobby, but she quickly thought of a solution and smiled.

The focus was still on the reward items for these three tasks, but to be honest, she only recognized three.

First, there was the kaila giant crocodile meat, and also bb corn. She recognized these two, just like the sweet cola already stored in her system space.

These were also special, top-grade ingredients from the Toriko World.

A piece of this crocodile's meat was said to be worth 100,000, and it was best prepared by simple pan-frying.

Its texture was like taut king crab, yet full of fat, with a taste even smoother than B5A-grade Wagyu beef, melting in the mouth with just a light bite.

The juices inside would flow out like a flood, and although it didn't seem to have any special effects, it was definitely a very good meat ingredient.

Although in the Toriko World, it was considered a mid-to-low-tier meat delicacy.

Then there was the bb corn. One kernel was as big as a basketball, worth at least 1 million, a top-tier ingredient that could pop a million popcorns from a single kernel, but it required temperatures of at least 1000 degrees Celsius to pop.

It didn't seem to have any effects either, as neither she nor The Girls possessed gourmet cells, but deliciousness was enough.

Luna was already looking forward to it. Then there was another reward she recognized, which was the Electric Web skill from the Pokémon World.

In the anime, Ash's Pikachu learned this move in the Sun & Moon arc. It could release a spider web made of electricity, which could be used as a trampoline or a capture net.

However, the former was best used by the user, and the latter was best used against enemies.

Luna planned to use this Electric Web skill card on Asada Shino once she obtained it, so Shino could master this skill. After all, Shino didn't have any control skills yet, and having this skill would enhance her strength to a certain extent.

But she didn't know what the other three reward items were, so she could only immediately ask the System, "What are these things?"

The System also immediately provided an answer.

"soul extraction lamp: Can extract souls from objects containing special souls, then store them in the lamp. At the same time, point it at an object, preferably a similar one, open the lampshade, and inject the soul into it."

"Special Bloodline: Randomly helps the Host draw a special bloodline from the myriad worlds. Consuming it will grant powerful strength."

"guiding light: Used in conjunction with the person-seeking staff. The System will help the Host find a new companion in the underwater world that meets the Host's requirements."

"Oh, now I understand," Luna suddenly realized, and if the System hadn't reminded her, she would have almost forgotten that she also had a Magic Search Wand. Since she used it to find Carmen last time, it had been gathering dust in her system space, and she had forgotten she even had such a thing.

But now it was great! As long as she got this "guiding light," which seemed like a small orb of light, it could be directly absorbed by the person-seeking staff. Then the System would automatically help her find a new companion that perfectly met her requirements, and she would be guaranteed to be satisfied.

She also understood the Special Bloodline. For example, taking Carmen as an example, she ate the Phoenix Fruit and had the power of the phoenix in her heart, flowing through every vein in her body.

And this Special Bloodline, perhaps she could obtain a drop of true Fire Phoenix essence blood. If Carmen consumed it, she would become even more like a true phoenix-human, and her strength would be even more terrifying.

That was the principle. Then there was the soul extraction lamp. Its appearance was like a kerosene lamp, with the glass cover being where souls were stored.

To give another example, when the Straw Hat Pirates burned the Going Merry, letting its ashes and remains slowly disappear into the ocean, Luna cried when she first saw that scene. But this time, with this item, she vowed to resolve that lingering regret and let Merry continue to live.

But suddenly, Luna realized something was wrong. Why were there two? She could imagine that the System probably also wanted to save Merry, because her System had its own emotions and intelligence, like a true spirit living in her mind, which was why it gave her this item.

She guessed it also hoped she would step in to save Merry.

But even so, one would be enough. Why two? She didn't seem to have a short-term need for this item, though she also knew that the One Piece World should have similar things.

Similar to the existence of a ship spirit like Merry.

"Host, you are about to abandon the ship you are on, aren't you? Just like the previous one."
