Mephisto put on his sunglasses. Just then, he felt a gaze land on him.
Mephisto's expression changed slightly. He saw a mysterious smile on Vincent Hall's face. Clearly, he had been discovered.
"Is this a warning?"
Mephisto suddenly found this less fun. His figure gradually faded. Although this was just an avatar, Mephisto understood clearly that even the destruction of an avatar would be a significant loss.
"But even if you know of my existence, what can you do to me?" Mephisto sneered as he left New York.
But in the next second.
A golden beam pierced through spacetime, landing on him. Before he could react, it impaled his avatar.
His soul roared. "Damn Ice Demon!!!"
"I will return! I will find you and make you pay!"
The Gates of Hell opened. His soul returned to the inferno.
In a certain Hell dimension, Mephisto's massive true form roared at the sky, letting out a thunderous bellow. He was unwilling.
Mephisto knew well the cost of entering a dimensional world. And in the infinite multiverse, accurately finding this specific world was extremely difficult. Countless Earths existed in the multiverse. Each one was different.
As hellfire carried his soul back, Mephisto's face grew grave.
A beam of light pierced spacetime, pierced dimensions, and landed in Hell.
It locked onto his soul.
Hmph! He snorted coldly.
His massive body wrapped in a pitch-black energy shield.
BOOM!
The shield shattered.
The Omega Beam pierced his heart, exploding his body.
Under the repair of Hell's dimensional power, Mephisto quickly recovered. But his expression was ugly.
This was a warning. And a deterrent. A deterrent against Mephisto stepping into the Ice Demon's territory and provoking hatred.
"The taste of death... truly addictive." Mephisto bared his teeth in a sinister smile.
Vincent's single attack would have killed him if he weren't in his own dimension. The terrifying power pierced his throne, even punctured his Hell dimension. As the Dimension Lord, he continuously repaired his world.
Mephisto deeply memorized this human. A powerhouse flourishing in the human world under the name of a demon. His terror made Mephisto deeply wary.
"This was our first encounter, but definitely not the last. Human Vincent Hall, I will forever remember your name. No matter how long the spacetime, your soul belongs to me."
Mephisto looked greedily at the gaping hole in Hell's sky. Evil spirits were fleeing through it, but Mephisto ignored them.
He needed repair. He needed massive amounts of souls to nourish his injured spirit.
The sports car roared.
Vincent left the police cars far behind. Gwen screamed crazily. The sensation of extreme speed made her feel like she was flying over New York.
When she was a hero, she didn't have her boyfriend by her side. She loved this speed. It was much more domineering than the Lincoln Navigator she usually drove.
The manor remained as before. Oscorp's security had withdrawn. Before Vincent arrived, they had checked the manor inside and out, finding nothing amiss.
"Vincent, did someone offend you just now?" After parking, Gwen finally couldn't help asking.
"A devil from Hell ran into my territory to spy on me. I just gave him a small lesson." Vincent raised an eyebrow.
"Hell really exists?" Gwen asked curiously.
"Gods exist, so naturally demons exist too." Vincent shrugged.
He wrapped his arm around Gwen's sexy waist, leading her into the manor.
"We haven't been to this villa in a long time. It's really a waste," Gwen sighed. Her studies were heavy, leaving her little time to accompany Vincent.
Gwen occasionally heard rumors about her super-rich boyfriend. But she didn't take them to heart. She had witnessed Vincent's growth into a top-tier powerhouse. Moreover, her boyfriend was one of the world's top ten billionaires.
He was creating his own legend. No, he had already become a legend.
The Battle of New York had passed a year ago, but Gwen still remembered the tsunami sweeping New York, turning into endless frost dragons under Vincent's control, charging at the alien invaders. With an invincible posture, he destroyed the alien battleships.
Since then, her boyfriend had become one of the world's most influential figures. Though Vincent was low-key, media reports never stopped.
Some media even broke news that the demon who froze the Vatican was Oscorp's chairman. Not a hero, but an out-and-out demon. Countless believers marched in protest. But it had no effect on Vincent.
The Vatican even held a special press conference to clarify the matter. Did the Vatican not know? Naturally, they knew. They had reconstructed the events of that night in Rome.
Someone targeted Vincent, and the Judgment Legion's arrogance got them killed. It also put the Vatican in a terrible position.
Now, the Vatican had fully unsealed and begun orderly recovery. But the entire Church inevitably faced problems. The evil entities suppressed by the Church for a millennium had escaped.
With the frozen night in Rome, countless devils fled the Church's grasp, plunging the Church into a dark age. They had no spare energy to trouble Vincent.
So, without Vincent needing to clarify anything, the Church wanted to stay far away from this demon. The adult world always prioritized current interests. The Church was no exception. With the fall of an Archangel, their losses were already severe.
After news spread of Vincent killing Apocalypse, the Church instantly fell silent. They knew of Apocalypse's existence. In a way, Apocalypse was the incarnation of a human god—God walking on earth. But the Church found its own God only after Apocalypse had issues. Apocalypse was the origin of their legends.
"A waste?" Vincent picked Gwen up in a princess carry. "We left many beautiful memories here. It seems Miss Stacy has forgotten. I think it's necessary to refresh your memory."
Vincent's smile bloomed brilliantly.
"Ah~" Gwen started like a frightened rabbit. "Not today! Last day of my period."
Gwen looked resistant.
"Then we'll take the unusual path." Vincent smiled even more wickedly.
"No, we can't! Damn guy..."
Night fell.
An ice boat sailed into the wind.
Gwen glared at Vincent, muttering to herself. She found Vincent increasingly hard to handle. Her hard labor only barely relieved his pressure. The disparity in their physical strength put great pressure on Gwen.
But to keep her boyfriend, she had to satisfy his little hobbies.
"By the way, I heard Warner Bros plans to turn your novel into a movie." Thinking it through, Gwen changed the topic.
"Warner asked for my opinion. My opinion is: the male lead must be handsome, and the female lead must be a great beauty." Vincent shrugged.
He almost forgot that to gain enough capital to complete missions, he had done something absurd. He became a copycat author and wrote Fifty Shades of Grey!!!
Now, the novel was finally being adapted into a film.
"I'm increasingly curious about the effect of your novel on screen." Gwen looked at Vincent with adoration.
That was a novel he wrote in high school. Back then, she was a naive student, and Vincent had just arrived in the US. Yet he wrote a worldwide bestseller. Regardless of the content quality, her boyfriend's identity as a bestselling author satisfied her.
"The scale might be toned down. Knowing Hollywood's nature, they'll add some theoretical conflict to deepen the film's content," Vincent said dissatisfiedly.
Gwen rolled her eyes. "You shouldn't have given it to Warner. You should have sold the rights to a company in San Fernando Valley."
"You know a lot." Vincent spread his hands. "I actually hoped someone in the Valley would shoot it, but you know, they have small budgets. They couldn't afford my rights."
Vincent knew he really needed money back then. Without that copyright fee, he couldn't have acquired Oscorp. That fee, in his hands, earned hundreds of times its value. It was Vincent's most satisfying business deal ever.
"That's a pity. I wanted that version of the movie." Gwen looked boldly at Vincent.
Vincent smiled brilliantly. "Actually, I have a suggestion. Why don't we film it according to the script? I play the lead, you play the heroine."
"Hmph, I don't want to." Gwen refused, but her tone wasn't absolute.
"That's really a pity."
The two chatted happily, unnoticed as the dark sea grew turbulent. The hurricane intensified, waves becoming frightening. But in the ocean, they didn't care.
Facing natural disasters, especially in the deep sea, Gwen was powerless. But she knew Vincent inside out. Ocean dangers couldn't threaten him.
Above the sea, Vincent was more like the Ocean Ruler, a new Poseidon. So, although Gwen sensed danger, being beside her boyfriend was the safest place.
Vincent raised an eyebrow. "It seems someone doesn't want us to enjoy our holiday quietly."
Gwen said excitedly, "You know I've been in New York too long. Helping old people cross streets is boring. If something happens at sea, this vacation would be perfect."
"Is that so?" Vincent beamed.
His white water magic activated, covering the entire ice boat.
The boat sank into the deep sea, undergoing a massive transformation. It became the Nautilus.
"You replicated the Nautilus from the novel?" Gwen observed excitedly.
Vincent nodded.
"Wow, you're amazing!" Gwen jumped for joy.
Through transparent ice windows, the seabed was clearly visible. The Nautilus submarine emitted light, illuminating the surroundings.
"Miss Stacy, may I have the honor of inviting you on a journey 20,000 leagues under the sea?"
"Of course, Mr. Hall." Gwen laughed melodiously.
Powerful water vibrations arrived. The seabed wasn't as calm as imagined. After entering the deep Atlantic, they saw a magnificent marine world.
It was like penetrating a spacetime tunnel to another world.
The Atlantis Empire.
The sunken empire was erupting in a massive war. Various marine mutant creatures appeared before their eyes.
"Incredible! Atlantis really exists!!!" Gwen was attracted by the magnificent underwater scenery.
Vincent was no exception. This was his first discovery of the marine empire. Penetrating the mysterious power guarding the ocean, he saw the deep sea's true face.
The entire seabed was in chaos. A marine war surpassing human technology presented a strangely beautiful scene.
"Warning! Warning!!!"
Sonar waves transmitted a warning to the Nautilus.
Gwen came back to her senses. "We seem to have intervened in a war?"
Gwen's eyes widened as she watched the Nautilus appear in the center of the battlefield.
Guarded by mysterious white light, the Frost Nautilus was surrounded by dense crowds of marine soldiers. Some humanoid, some fish-like. Higher creatures were closer to human form; lower intelligent ones retained seafood characteristics.
But that wasn't the point. The point was their submarine had appeared in the crossfire. It took many hits, but protected by the white light, Gwen felt no turbulence inside.
"Yes, our appearance made them stop fighting." Vincent spread his hands helplessly.
"Haha, Mr. Hall, you did a good deed. At least they don't know you're the fiercest demon on land," Gwen teased.
"It seems my fame hasn't spread far enough."
Sitting in the cockpit, Vincent clearly saw through the ice window. The marine tribes stared at him with hostility and shock. In the boundless deep sea, amidst the torrent of millions of elite marine troops, they seemed so small.
But because of his appearance, both sides ceased fire. After the shock, through the transparent window, the sea folk discovered the couple.
After the warning sound, a King in golden armor riding a massive white seahorse expressed royal anger at the humans who rashly crashed into their battlefield.
"Seize that human man and woman!"
King Namor of Atlantis waved his trident coldly. The Neptune Trident emitted terrifying energy, easily stirring the ocean waves. Atlantean soldiers riding strange sea beasts lunged at the Frost Nautilus.
"See, I just said it, and they attacked. Gwen, I didn't start this. These seafood just lack self-awareness and manners." Vincent smiled helplessly.
Gwen said helplessly, "Is it possible our appearance damaged someone's interests and violated their territory?"
"Did we? I definitely think it's not my problem, so it must be theirs."
As Vincent spoke, a group of Atlantean soldiers fired electric arc attacks from their special trident weapons. Hundreds of energy bolts transmitted through the seawater, slashing viciously at the ice-transformed Nautilus.
Gwen jumped in fright. But Vincent sat as steady as Mount Tai, watching these shrimp soldiers and crab generals disturbing him with cold eyes.
"Are we really not going to run?" Gwen asked suddenly, her voice still a bit nervous.
