After speaking with his father, Magnus was disappointed. Caesar dismissed his warning as a foolish dream and kicked him out.
Still, Magnus was prepared. He returned to his room, stripped off his clothes, and revealed scars from countless battles. Changing into training attire, he headed to the mansion's training ground.
Two knights, both promising level‑5 young men, were sparring, exchanging blows in their daily routine. When Magnus arrived, they stopped and saluted.

Magnus waved them off with a sigh.
"At ease."
Watching them, his thoughts drifted to memories of the original Cato. His gaze fell on the weapon racks.
"I wish we had firearms."
