Chapter 114 - Volume 3 Preview

(Written as a teaser based on a reader's suggestion)

Lava lamps of molten rock dance wildly against the night sky; flames roar through the silent dark. Thick smoke blankets the firmament, shrouding the day in a veil as black as night.

"In recent days, the long-dormant volcano on Isla Nublar has shown renewed signs of activity. It has now been reclassified as an active volcano."

"Geologists speculate that an unprecedented catastrophe will once again lead the world's last remaining dinosaurs toward extinction."

Since the collapse of Jurassic World, Isla Nublar has once again seized the global spotlight.

"Controversy surrounding Isla Nublar has reached a fever pitch. A temporary special committee has been established in the United States to debate this monumental ethical crisis."

Countless dinosaur protection groups have mobilized, taking to the streets with placards, bringing traffic to a grinding halt.

"The Chinese authorities have set an example, expressing a willingness to accept a small number of indigenous dinosaurs and establish a new sanctuary for them."

"The question is whether we should grant dinosaurs the same protections as other endangered species, or simply allow them to perish once more."

Inside the special committee, Ian Malcolm reappears in the public eye. The live broadcast captures his voice with chilling clarity:

"I believe... we should watch as these magnificent creatures vanish... along with the island."

His words ignite an uproar. The fate of Isla Nublar seems sealed.

"We cannot just stand by and watch them die!"

Extremist activists organize drone swarms to capture the tragic flight of the dinosaurs on the island, hoping to stir global empathy.

"We created them! We are responsible for them to the very end!"

"They aren't monsters! They are beautiful creatures that belong on this Earth just as much as we do!"

Searing boulders trailing black smoke soar through the sky like falling meteors.

Within the Primeval Ecological Zone, the air is thick with ash; the once-pristine atmosphere is gone.

BOOM!

A catastrophic rock hurtles toward the Giganotosaurus family, only to be intercepted by a figure as towering as a mountain. The boulder shatters into dust.

As the smoke clears, the Lord of the Primeval Zone remains standing, unshakable and unyielding.

"That thing... is that really a dinosaur?"

As one wave breaks, another rises. Fans of the "Primeval Lord" erupt into a frenzy, joining the protests to offer praise to the former "Little Giga." Some go even further, raising banners declaring a world ruled by dinosaurs.

"Claire, Mr. Lockwood would like a word."

Now a leading member of a dinosaur protection group, Claire gazes at the ancient, magnificent manor before her. She takes a deep breath and follows the attendant inside.

"Mr. Lockwood owns a private, pristine island. No humans, no fences, no cages. We can take these creatures there."

Eli Mills, dressed in a sharp suit, outlines his vision to Claire.

"The park has a tracking system. If we can get authorization, we can save more of them."

Two ships dock at the island; armored vehicles roll slowly into the jungle.

"Hey! I said wait for the signal!"

Owen Grady, in his signature vest, clashes with the other operatives on the mission.

Thump...

Heavy footfalls echo on the docks. The dinosaurs break into an uneasy riot.

"ROAR—"

In the dead of night, a cunning madman scales a rooftop, letting out a long, haunting shriek toward the stars.

"It needs a family!"

"And what do you want me to do? Find a dinosaur whisperer to be its nanny?"

Inside the lab, Dr. Wu and Mills engage in a heated argument.

Rat-tat-tat-tat!

Muzzle flashes illuminate the darkness in staccato bursts, briefly revealing a figure lurking in the shadows.

"This is your last chance, Claire."

Toxic gas begins to seep into the cages. Dinosaurs sense the change in the air, crying out in alarm.

"If you press that button, there's no turning back."

Claire's hand hovers over the release, her face etched with agony and indecision.

But they have clearly failed to realize the heart of the problem.

Once the dinosaurs leave Isla Nublar, their fate is no longer for humanity to decide.

"ROAR—!"

A thunderous bellow accompanies footsteps that make the very earth tremble.

The dinosaurs crowding the exit in a panicked frenzy suddenly fall silent, parting to the left and right in reverence.

CRASH!

The stone gates shatter.

"This is a human world! It doesn't belong to you!"

On the desert plains, rockets scream forth in a deafening blast, striking a colossal silhouette. The explosion kicks up rolling clouds of smoke.

"Target unit sighted."

Helicopters fly over the forest canopy as heavily armed members of an unknown organization shadow the behemoth below.

"Aunnng-roar—cough, cough..."

In the darkness, the Great Beast collapses, a falling mountain that sends dust billowing into the air.

Ian Malcolm removes his glasses, staring directly into the camera:

"We have entered a new era."

"Welcome… to the Jurassic World."
