Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Endless Evolution

The collapsing world descended.

A miniature singularity made from corrupted evolution itself.

Everything it touched—

Changed.

The corrupted realm warped violently around Morvain's attack. Broken Titan fragments fused together endlessly, reshaping into newer, stronger forms every second.

Adaptation without limit.

Evolution without restraint.

Storm's voice cracked through the unstable connection.

"…That thing is literally getting stronger while existing!"

Outside—

The Academy shook violently.

Mountains in the distance cracked apart.

The sky darkened further as reality itself began reacting to the corruption leaking outward.

Frost's expression tightened.

"…If that attack reaches the real world…"

He didn't finish the sentence.

He didn't need to.

Inside—

The singularity approached Harold slowly.

Not because it lacked speed—

Because it consumed space as it moved.

Everything near it bent inward and evolved into unstable forms.

Stone became flesh.

Air became crystallized Titan matter.

Even energy itself twisted unnaturally.

Morvain's monstrous voice echoed across the realm.

"Everything evolves."

The collapsing world pulsed violently.

"Everything changes."

Another pulse.

"And balance…"

His countless glowing eyes narrowed.

"…Only delays perfection."

Harold stood still.

Watching.

Understanding.

Inside—

Unity remained calm.

"Balance intact."

The Counter-Sovereign analyzed rapidly.

"…Infinite adaptation loop detected."

The Devourer rumbled deeply.

"…Corruption mimics growth."

The Monkey King growled.

"Then smash it before it adapts."

But Harold didn't move.

Because he finally understood Morvain's flaw.

Evolution.

Adaptation.

Endless change.

All of it required one thing.

Instability.

Harold stepped forward.

The singularity reacted instantly.

New forms emerged from its surface.

Blades.

Wings.

Eyes.

Armor.

Hundreds of evolving mutations appearing every second.

But Harold kept walking.

Calm.

The corrupted evolution reached him—

And stopped.

Not frozen.

Stabilized.

The endless mutations suddenly slowed.

Their rapid changes weakening.

Morvain's expression darkened immediately.

"…Impossible."

Harold's voice echoed quietly.

"Endless evolution means endless imperfection."

Unity flared brilliantly.

"Core imbalance identified."

The Counter-Sovereign aligned every thread instantly.

"Adaptation cycle disrupted."

The Devourer roared.

"…False growth exposed."

The singularity trembled violently now.

Its endless evolution turning unstable.

Conflicting mutations began clashing against one another.

Morvain raised his hand sharply.

The corruption surged harder, trying to force adaptation faster.

"Then I will evolve beyond balance itself!"

The collapsing world exploded outward again.

Larger.

More violent.

More unstable.

But Harold finally moved.

Authority descended.

Not as force.

Not as domination.

As law.

The entire corrupted realm halted.

Every mutation stopped mid-transformation.

Every unstable evolution froze instantly.

Morvain's eyes widened.

"…What did you do?"

Harold looked directly at him.

"I ended the cycle."

The corruption began collapsing inward immediately.

Not violently.

Naturally.

Because without instability—

Forced evolution could no longer continue.

Morvain staggered slightly for the first time.

"No…"

The Titan fragments fused into his body started destabilizing.

The countless powers he stole—

Began separating.

The screams trapped within the corruption grew louder.

Not in pain.

In release.

Outside—

The darkened sky above the Academy slowly began clearing.

The trembling earth calmed.

Storm blinked upward.

"…Wait…"

Frost narrowed his eyes.

"…The corruption is weakening."

Back inside—

Morvain finally lost composure.

"You think balance saves people?!"

The corruption around him lashed out wildly now.

"You think humanity survives by remaining weak?!"

Harold stopped in front of him.

"No."

A pause.

"They survive by remaining themselves."

Morvain roared.

The corruption exploded out of him desperately, trying to evolve again.

Trying to adapt.

Trying to survive.

But it couldn't.

Because Harold's authority now defined the realm itself.

Balance.

Stability.

Identity.

The corruption had nowhere left to spread.

Morvain's body cracked.

The fused Titan energies separated violently from him.

One after another.

Dozens.

Hundreds.

The Devourer rumbled deeply.

"…False Sovereign collapsing."

Unity pulsed softly.

"Restoration progressing."

The Counter-Sovereign confirmed,

"Corruption network dismantled."

Morvain fell to one knee.

For the first time—

He looked afraid.

"…I was saving them…"

Harold looked at him quietly.

"No."

A pause.

"You were trying to replace them."

Silence filled the collapsing realm.

The corruption continued breaking apart.

The countless trapped souls slowly separating from the failed fusion.

Morvain lowered his head.

His monstrous form fading rapidly now.

"…Then what comes after balance?"

Harold answered immediately.

"Choice."

The corrupted realm shattered.

Light exploded through the darkness.

The trapped Titan fragments dissolved peacefully.

The failed experiments disappeared one by one.

And Morvain—

Began turning to ash.

Not destroyed violently.

Not erased.

Released.

His fading eyes remained fixed on Harold.

"…Maybe…"

A weak breath escaped him.

"…That's why they feared you."

Then—

He disappeared completely.

The corrupted realm collapsed.

And Harold opened his eyes back in the real world.

The creature in front of him had returned to normal.

Human.

Alive.

Breathing.

The Academy stood silent.

Everyone watching him.

Storm stared blankly.

"…Okay."

A pause.

"…What the hell are you now?"

Harold exhaled slowly.

For the first time—

He didn't have an answer.
