Chapter 124 - Chapter 7 (Part 1)

"..."

For a good few seconds, Rotsard remained completely still.

He wasn't even breathing, only staring at his dismembered limbs, not even daring to look at the places where they should be.

The only reason as to why the room didn't turn into a literal bloodbath was that Rotsard's nearly black blood was still basically gelatinous and immediately began to clot at the wounds.

It didn't even hurt… it all was just… numb.

"...! …! !!!"

Rotsard's breath gradually hastened as the panic was settling in.

What did he do?

WHY DIDN'T HE CONSIDER THE RISK OF MESSING WITH A GATE-TYPE SPELL!?

…well, a third-rate villain's mindset isn't the easiest to get rid off… not that he actually tried either…

With haphazard breath, and his face turning ghastly pale, Rotsard stood up and immediately got hit with a wave of nausea as he got lightheaded and almost fainted right there on the spot.

*THUMP*

Luckily, he didn't actually faint, at the last second taking a step forward and saving himself from falling face-first to the floor.

"I have… I have to get some help… h-hospital wing…! I have to get to the hospital wing…"

He started muttering to himself in attempt to remain conscious.

"I… better take those with me…"

After taking a few steps towards the door, he looked over his shoulder and muttered at his limbs sprawled on the floor.

When he approached them and reached out to grab both, the sight of only his left, handless, arm caused a second wave of nauseating lightheadedness, and, for a moment, Rotsard's vision turned dark.

"I… no… I can do it… I CAN do it…!"

Once again, he barely resisted fainting, and started muttering to himself.

His attempts at grabbing both the arm and a hand were unsuccessful.

While he could prop up and get a hold of his right arm, the lack of an attached working hand made it basically impossible to properly get a hold of his left hand…

"...ghn…"

…so he kneeled down and grabbed it with his mouth, only barely holding back nausea…

It was already dead in the night, so the hallways were empty, which had its positive and negative sides.

Negative - there was no one to help him.

Positive - there was no one to start mass panic over seeing a one-handed ghastly pale youth with beastly yellow eyes carrying a dismembered arm and a severed hand in his mouth.

….considered all that, it wasn't surprising that he missed a flabbergasted grayish-white bird with black stripes over its widened eyes and wings, staring at his struggles through the window with its beak wide open from sheer shock…

It was quite a bit of the walk to the hospital wing, and even Rotsard's goopy blood began to drip down, but that honestly wasn't on top of his priorities list.

When he finally made his way to the hospital wing, he first hurriedly knocked on the door before awkwardly opening it and backing his way in…

"What's the emergency? What's going o…?"

"..."

Rotsard was greeted by one of the nurses who just so happened to be close, asking in a worried voice while he was turning to face her…

He did not recognize the young woman, which meant it must have been a new hire to replace Miss Lila, but honestly, he didn't care in the slightest who it was.

He just wanted help.

"..."

"..."

But as the two made eye contact, they stayed completely silent and…

"..."

*THUMP*

"?!?!"

Without letting out as much as a whimper, the new nurse fell down like a log, fainting on the spot and causing the injured youth to flinch and take a step back in shock.

"...what was that…?"

"...!"

The noise the unconscious nurse caused alarmed the others and at least one more person was coming to check on the situation, making Rotsard flinch once again.

…it… it really looked bad for him, didn't it…?

Standing over an unconscious woman while holding a dismembered arm and biting onto a severed hand…

Once he was seen like that, it would cause…!

"Oh, faes of light, nature, and water!"

"!!!"

…but before he could even attempt to fix anything, he was spotted, and the nurse who appeared jumped in shock and immediately traced a sign that was supposed to ward off evil in the air in front of her.

…well, it seemed that would be it…
