Chapter 12 - A Good Song Never Dies

February 26, 2050 - 20:11

Da Nang, Vietnam - Nova Oriental Nightclub

Chisato was dragged to the dance floor against her will. The one who was dragging her was holding onto her hand and pulling her through the crowd.

The shift from the relatively empty private room to the dense, crowded dance floor was massive. Chisato had to weave and maneuver around the sea of dancing, drunken people.

It took a lot of effort for her to be able to weave through the crowd without touching anyone – or anyone touching her – to be able to get into a small, breathable hole in the crowd, especially when the alcohol intoxicated Chisato.

My finally let go of Chisato's hand, turned around, and looked at her with a smile on her face. Her body was already moving along with the beat of the song.

"Come on, show me how you party!" My leaned closer and raised her voice so that Chisato could hear through the booming music.

"But I don't know how to dance, I've never been to a club before," Chisato replied, feeling still quite awkward.

"You don't need to know how to dance to dance," My replied while grabbing Chisato's hands, entwining their fingers together, "Look around you, does it look like anyone here actually knows how to dance like a professional?"

Chisato looked around her, and true to My's word, it was a chaotic mess. There wasn't anyone actually using any professional dance moves, no coordination at all. All there was around her was a symphony of chaos, just people living and enjoying the current moment, appreciating the music.

Chisato focused back onto My. She was already moving her body, her hip swaying hypnotically left and right while her hands still joined with Chisato's, a smile bright on her face, illuminated by the various colored lights from the light show on the stage and the floor.

"If it helps, no one here cares about anyone else. They're just here to party and dance and get shitface drunk," My tried encouraging Chisato.

Chisato let out a sigh as she tried to let go of her own worry and social anxiety.

She finally moved her body, mirroring what people were doing around her and also the girl in front of her, although her body was still stiff.

"That's more like it, you're getting into it." My commented.

Slowly but eventually, Chisato moved her body with more fluidity and zeal. The song was a great pop and thanks to the encouragement of My, she was finally able to let go of her lingering anxiety.

Both of them danced along to the beat of the music in the sea of people, both of them only focus on each other. Smiles appeared on their face as they stared at each other.

Under the red lighting from the stage, My's emerald colored eyes stood out even more, and not in a bad way at all. Chisato was drawn in more and more by My's charm, a combination of her eyes, her physique, and her outfit, all of it combined with the lighting to give My quite an ethereal aura.

At least that was what Chisato's brain was thinking while being a lightweight drunkard.

As the beat dropped, My decided to be even more forward with her approach and brought Chisato into her embrace. Their boobs pressed on each other's bodies as they continued their dance.

A blush appeared on Chisato's face as she was experiencing a very lesbian panic, though, under the red hue, no one could tell.

'By the ancestor, she's grinding on me… her boobs are quite big too. Good lord, does that mean I'm a lesbian? … wait, no, last time I checked, I still like guys… Do I like her? I mean, I do, we even had sex before… on our first day of meeting too… is sex more casual outside of Japan?' A stream of jumbled thoughts ran through Chisato's head as she continued her dance with My, although it was more autonomous than consciously dancing.

By the time Chisato had her thoughts in control, the song was already over and transitioning to a new one. The crowded atmosphere and the constant dancing had both of the girls sweating already. Their bodies were still entangled together, feeling each other's warmth, sweat, and softness.

"Should we go for another dance?" My asked, a charming smile on her face. She was radiating a cool tomboy vibe.

Catching her breath and looking back at My, Chisato nodded, charmed by her appearance.

"Yeah, I don't mind a few more songs."

February 26, 2050 - 20:39

After non-stop dancing for half an hour, both of the girls decided to get to the closest bar to refill themselves with some alcohol.

My led Chisato through the crowd and approached the bar just in time for a vacant spot large enough for both of them to fit in.

They both leaned against the counter and waited for a bartender to come and take their order. A bartender, who just finished serving another customer, came over to the pair.

"Hello, ladies, what can I get for you tonight?" He asked in Vietnamese?

"Two Larue, please." My replied, already chose an option for Chisato since she didn't speak Vietnamese.

The bartender nodded and grabbed two tinted glass bottles from the refrigerator behind the bar counter and handed it over to the girls with the cap popped.

She grabbed the bottles and handed one to Chisato. She took the bottle, offered a thanks, clanked their bottles, and filled their thirst with a gulp of beer.

As the alcohol went down their throat, both of them let out a satisfying sigh.

"Nothing like a cold beer when you're thirsty huh?" My commented.

"Yeah, I didn't get to drink much alcohol back in uni, but you're right, this is good." Chisato replied.

"So you never had any before?"

"Didn't have an opportunity. It was mostly university, homework, projects, and more studies."

"University sounds boring, glad I didn't have to go to one." My chuckled.

It wasn't unusual that someone, at this time and age, didn't want to go to university. At a time where unemployment rate everywhere was horrendous, and the bar for entry-level jobs was a master's degree, it was no wonder that people would hesitate to go to university and potentially took on a massive loan.

Chisato was lucky enough to have parents who could afford her education, even if she ended up being a mercenary anyway.

Before Chisato could say something to My, they were interrupted by someone else.

"Wassup beauties? Mind if I join you guys for a drink?" A heavy central Vietnamese accent came from behind them.

A hoodlum-looking man interjected in their conversation. He had a typical hoodlum and wannabe gangster appearance, slickback hairstyle, a leather jacket, and a pompous look on his face to complete the set.

Behind him was a group of men who dressed similarly to their leader while sporting perverted looks on their faces.

Chisato, with no idea of what the man was saying but recognizing the situation, was confused but kept her caution up, while My had a more neutral expression and a raised eyebrow.

"I'm sorry but we're just here for a good night, if you don't mind." My offered a polite reply and refusal.

However, the man, who was either too dense to take a hint or didn't care, continued.

"Oh come on ladies, the night is still young and it'll be boring with just the two of you. You guys could come to our VIP room and hang out with us. It'll be fun, and drinks are on us." The man offered again while looking back at his group of "friends".

At this point, the people in the immediate surroundings took notice of the situation and spread away from the group, either ignoring or avoiding the situation.

An alarm was blaring inside Chisato's mind. Despite having been trained on martial arts and combat techniques for the past week, Chisato was still a rookie. While My was an excellent fighter, the situation was clearly unfavorable to the two girls. A two versus fifteen was not a situation they wanted to be in.

"Look buddy, I'm just here to have a drink and party with my friend; we're not here to date or hook up," My raised her voiced slightly, a slight, annoyed look appeared on her face.

The man clearly didn't know how to take no for an answer and stepped toward Chisato and placed his hands on her thigh and squeezed it.

"Oh, don't be like that, you'll never know if you like it or not." His flirtatious tone was nothing short of creepy, "I promise you two will have the bes…"

Before he could finish his sentence, My's palm was planted on his face at full force, sending the man staggering back to his group of underlings.

The slap left a ringing in the mobster's ear, and his vision was dazed. His underlings were holding him up and checking on him while a few others stepped toward My and Chisato.

"You fucking bitch, he offered you a good time and you dared to hurt him?"

"You ungrateful hoe, don't even think you could get away from here without compensation."

The goons shouted their threats at My and Chisato; however, they soon stopped. The leader, who just got back on his own feet, signaled them to stop.

"That was very rude of you ladies, to slap an innocent man just because he was asking you out." A creepy smile crept from his face, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Either you come with us and let us have fun with your bodies, or we can make you come regardless."

The leader smiled, thinking he had clearly cornered the girls.

A palm print was visible on his face, still sore from the slap the tanned bitch just gave him.

'I've doing this shit so many times with no problems, and yet, this bitch dared to slap me? This is my fucking turf and I get to do whatever the fuck I want with you hoes,' He was already thinking of what deranged sexual activities he would subject the two girls to once they are intimidated and comply with his demand.

However, unlike what he expected, My let out a low chuckle while still leaning against the bar, the beer bottle still in her hand.

"Do you think you'll get out of this shit unharmed? There are fifteen of us and two of you!" The man spouted out in annoyance.

"Fifteen men against two women, your mommy sure taught you how to be manly huh? By hiding behind your goons while intimidating women?" My taunted him with a grin on her face.

A vein bulged on his forehead. It was a childish insult, but as someone who lost his mother, it hit a sore spot in his psyche.

"Besides, you're not the only one who has friends."

My pointed at the group of mobsters, or more precisely, behind them.

This prompted the leader to turn around to see what the girl was pointing at.

To his surprise, there was a group of men already standing behind them. Each of the men was much more muscular and appeared more well-trained than his own group.

In the front was Peter, his fist clenched and his face filled with seriousness. To his side was Edric, his top missing, and his muscles flexing. Long was on Peter's other side, physically smaller than Edric, but made up for his shortcoming with furiosity on his face, and the two beer bottles in his hands. Max, just like Edric, was somehow also missing his top, but instead of flexing his muscles for intimidation, he was more so flexing his good-looking body to the ladies in the audience. Kasem was straight to the point and assumed a Muay Thai ready posture. Enzi was the last of the group, standing behind all the guys with his hands crossed. Even though he was in the back, the leader assumed that he was also quite a tough opponent, just based on the fact that Enzi was a big, intimidating black man.

However, only counting the weirdos behind him, there were still six men against his group of fifteen. The situation was still in his favour.

"Sure, you may have some friends, but we still have the number advantage. Seven versus fifteen is an obvious answer."

"Yeah, it's an obvious answer, we'll win. Plus, you forgot to count us in. Too much of a pussy to fight some girls?"

At this point, the man's patient was already empty, not that he had much of it to begin with. He clenched his fist and shouted at his men.

"Teach these bastards a less…AH!"

He didn't get to finish his sentence, as a beer bottle flew toward his face and slammed into his mouth, sending a tooth flying out of his mouth.

Chisato, who was witnessing the whole debacle, turned toward My with a flabbergasted look on her face.

'WHAT THE FUCK KIND OF SITUATION ARE WE IN RIGHT NOW???'

She cried out in her own thought while preparing for a fight.
