October 31, 1993, the afternoon of Halloween.

The weather was pleasant, with the warm autumn sun lazily shining over Hogwarts.

Lynn checked his backpack—stuffed with a fishing rod, a folding chair, various flavors of bait, and an alchemy book to pass the time—before heading toward the Black Lake in a rather cheerful mood.

It was Sunday, and the weather was good—the perfect time for fishing.

However, someone seemed intent on not letting him have his way.

Just as he reached the vicinity of the Entrance Hall, two figures stepped out from the side, one on each flank, blocking his path.

On the left was Amina, wearing her Uagadou school robes, and on the right was Ryan, dressed in his Ilvermorny uniform.

Lynn paused and looked at these two "roadblocks" from different continents, raising an eyebrow.

"What's the matter, you two? The weather is so nice today. Why aren't you out flying a few laps at the pitch or in the library discussing international magical differences? Why block me?"

Ryan offered a polite smile and spoke first. "We've been at Hogwarts for an exchange for a while now, and we haven't visited Hogsmeade Village yet. Since we're leaving soon, as a student of Hogwarts, shouldn't you fulfill your duties as a host and take us for a tour?"

He said it as if it were a matter of course, as though it would be a great discourtesy if Lynn refused.

Lynn was left speechless for a moment.

"Ryan, I remember telling you both—I don't have permission to go to Hogsmeade. You can go by yourselves. Just head out the Castle gates, follow that main road, and you'll see a bunch of houses. The signposts are very clear.

"Or, if you find walking boring, it's not impossible to come fishing with me by the Black Lake. I can lend you a rod..."

As he spoke, he stepped to the side, trying to slip past the gap between them.

"Hey—don't be in such a hurry to leave!" Amina stepped across and blocked him again. "Look at this. What is it?"

She pulled a neatly folded piece of parchment from her pocket and shoved it into Lynn's hand.

Lynn gave her a puzzled look and unfolded it.

The content was roughly:

I, Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, hereby grant permission for Lynn to travel to Hogsmeade Village during extracurricular hours, provided he complies with school rules and relevant Ministry of Magic regulations. This permission is effective immediately.

Below it was a line of small print:

Special approval granted at the friendly request of the Uagadou and Ilvermorny exchange students. May your trip to Hogsmeade be pleasant.

Holding the permission slip, Lynn's eyes widened.

He looked at the slip, then at the two smiling faces in front of him, unsure what to say.

"No… was this really necessary?" Lynn didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Just to drag me to Hogsmeade, you actually went to Headmaster Dumbledore to get a permission slip? What exactly did you tell him? That I'm antisocial and need social correction?"

He genuinely couldn't imagine what excuse they had used.

"So? Are you touched?" Amina leaned in with a grin.

Lynn curled his lip. "Actually… Hogsmeade isn't that special. Honeydukes just has more candy, the Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks is decent, and Zonko's Joke Shop is a bit noisy… It's not as interesting as fishing in peace."

Ryan crossed his arms. "Just say whether you're going or not."

The implication was obvious: they had secured the permission slip and cornered him. Today, he was going to Hogsmeade—willingly or not.

"Fine, fine." Lynn waved a hand. "If I'm to be the guide, then I'm the guide. But let's be clear: I'm only responsible for showing you the way and introducing the main shops. You're on your own for any expenses. Don't expect me to be both your guide and your wallet—I already give you a generous cut of the profits."

Ultimately, Lynn led the two of them along the main road toward Hogsmeade.

The autumn scenery was quite pleasant, with trees along the road turning gold and crimson, and mountains rolling in the distance.

Lynn gave a casual introduction, "Over there is the Shrieking Shack. It's said to be haunted, and Snape once left a bottle of an extremely vile potion inside. That smell… Anyway, walk a bit further and you'll see the village."

Upon arriving at Hogsmeade, the fragile alliance between the three dissolved almost immediately.

Ryan's goal was clear. "See you later at the Three Broomsticks," he said, before heading straight toward the deeper parts of the village—toward shops that sold magical materials, rare herbs, and creature by-products. He was clearly planning to restock.

Lynn had no urgent need for materials. He shrugged and looked at Amina.

"What about you? Where do you want to go?"

Amina scanned the village, clearly fascinated by its British magical charm.

"Honeydukes first! And then—oh, there's a pet shop over there!"

The pet shop was bustling, filled with the sounds and smells of various magical creatures.

Amina was clearly interested in many of them, but her attention soon settled on a small animal curled up on a cushion.

It looked like an ordinary ginger kitten, but it had long tufts of fur at the tips of its ears, rare amber eyes, and a tail more flexible and powerful than that of a normal cat.

The shop assistant explained that it was a half-blood cat with Kneazle ancestry.

Amina fell for it almost instantly.

After some bargaining, she successfully bought the kitten and named it "Kaya" on the spot—a Uagadou-style name meaning "Agile Hunter."

The kitten nuzzled her hand affectionately, purring softly.

The two walked out of the shop, Amina holding her new pet, heading toward the material shops to regroup with Ryan.

As they walked, something in the shadow of a nearby corner caught Amina's attention.

It was a large black dog.

It looked scrawny but had a broad frame. Its fur was matted and dirty, and it sat quietly, its eyes scanning the passing wizards—lingering a little longer on students wearing Hogwarts robes.

At that moment, the dog's gaze met Amina's.

One person and one dog—eyes locked.

Amina slowed slightly. She tapped Lynn, who was distracted playing with Kaya, and pointed toward the dog.

The movement startled the already alert animal.

It jerked violently—

Then, without hesitation, turned and bolted, disappearing into the deeper shadows of a nearby alley.

"What's up?" Lynn looked up, following her gesture, but saw only an empty corner and a few trash bins.

Amina lowered her hand. "Nothing. There was just a black dog there." She paused. "It felt… off. Like it might be an Animagus."

Lynn glanced at her. "…What does that have to do with me?"

The moment the words left his mouth—

[Ding! Mission Issued]

[Mission Objective: Ensure the traitor who betrayed Ollie's mother is punished]

[Reward: Form Resonance]

[Effect: Ability to cast spells while in Animagus form]

[Note: You must have an Animagus form first; if you do, forget I said anything]

Lynn: "…"

He hadn't learned Animagus transformation.

But that wasn't the point.

The point was—who was the traitor?

And where?

His mind raced.

The mission mentioned a traitor… they were in Hogsmeade… Amina had just spotted a suspicious black dog… Ollie's mother… betrayal… Animagus…

That dog…

Could it be…?

Yes. Highly likely.

That black dog was probably Sirius Black—the wanted fugitive. And according to rumors, he was the traitor who had betrayed the Potters.

If Ollie's mother had also been betrayed… or indirectly affected by that same betrayal…

The logic connected.

All of this flashed through Lynn's mind in an instant.

"Amina," Lynn said suddenly, his tone urgent, "I need to go—now. Go find Ryan at the Three Broomsticks first. I'll catch up!"

"Huh? What's the emergency? You—"

Before she could finish, Lynn had already bolted.
