Chapter 233 - Chapter 233: Dreams, Two Possibilities for the Future

In Hagrid's hut, Amanda, Hermione, and the others listened to him talk for nearly the entire afternoon.

From the reception they received when they first arrived at the Giant Tribe, to the chaotic and forced evacuation after the tribe underwent a massive change.

Not only that, but Hagrid also spoke about his childhood and his father for the first time.

Amanda and Hermione sat together, leaning against each other, quietly listening to the stories Hagrid told.

While deeply feeling the threat Giants posed to humans, they also felt the discrimination and unequal treatment that those with Half-giant blood suffered in the Wizarding World.

"Sigh," Hermione sighed, her arm around Amanda's waist tightening slightly. "Before fighting for equal rights for Giants and those with Half-giant blood, it is clearly more important to teach them civilization and peace."

"I agree." Amanda nodded in agreement. Only by ensuring that the Giant race could coexist peacefully with humans in the future would they be considered friends, and only then could she and Hermione fight for their possible equality.

Otherwise, if they were always enemies meeting on the battlefield with swords drawn, how could there be any talk of equal coexistence? Every meeting would be a life-or-death struggle.

Listening to Hagrid speak of these things, and hearing about how the Warmongers killed the original leader of the Giant race to take command of the tribes.

Hearing how the ordinary Giants in the tribe were forced to follow those Warmongers and join Voldemort's camp, Harry felt he finally understood what Amanda and Hermione meant when they said he couldn't be soft-hearted.

Not showing mercy to Voldemort, the Death Eaters, and those who slaughtered the innocent was the best way to save those who might be harmed by them.

When leaving Hagrid's hut, the boy appeared unusually calm; it was as if he had suddenly grown up, the innocence on his face largely replaced by maturity.

After having dinner and returning to the Dormitory, Amanda continued to sit at her desk, reading seriously and absorbing the knowledge into her brain. So far, she had finished reading ninety percent of the books in the Hogwarts Restricted Section.

With only the final ten percent remaining, Amanda would have read through every single book in the Hogwarts Library once.

Regarding this, Hermione and the others had no thoughts other than admiration. What else could they do? It wasn't like they could copy Amanda's method and try to finish reading every book in the Hogwarts Library, right?

This wasn't something others could learn just by wanting to; their brains would explode!

While Amanda was reading, Hermione was taking a bath in the washroom, and Cho Chang and Marietta Eckmore were still in the common room, huddling together on the sofa and discussing the future.

Meanwhile, Harry, whose mindset had been deeply altered, was lying flat on his bed, staring fixedly at the top of the bed curtains.

After staring for a long time, his eyes felt sore, and the gold and red curtains seemed to start spinning. Before long, his eyelids grew heavier and heavier, finally closing tightly.

After entering the dream world, he didn't have dreams where he was the protagonist as usual, nor did he have a dreamless sleep until dawn.

On the contrary, this time he felt like he had become some kind of animal crawling on the ground, because the perspective was incredibly low.

It didn't even feel like a four-legged animal crawling on the ground, such as a dog, wolf, lion, or tiger; instead, it felt like a snake or a lizard.

When his peripheral vision occasionally caught the writhing body of 'himself' at his side, Harry realized—oh, it's a snake; he had turned into a snake in his dream.

Wait, how could he turn into a snake in a dream?!

Harry's heart jolted, but fortunately, his Occlumency had been well-practiced under Amanda's guidance. He could clearly feel the existence of his own consciousness, clearly feel that he was dreaming, and also clearly realize that he could wake up immediately if he wanted to.

But... he suddenly felt that he didn't want to wake up immediately, because he recognized what this Giant snake he had become was.

Wasn't this Giant snake the one that was always by Voldemort's side? He had seen this Giant snake from other perspectives in his previous dreams.

He also remembered the reason he could see these things was that Amanda said there was a Soul fragment of Voldemort in his forehead, so he could see part of the situation on Voldemort's side.

Then this was a great opportunity to obtain information about Voldemort. He wanted to see exactly what Voldemort was sending this Giant snake to do.

The boy lying on the bed frowned slightly, and the Harry in the dream also narrowed his eyes to observe his surroundings carefully.

Through the Giant snake's vision, Harry saw clearly that this was a dark and narrow corridor. There were many doors on both sides of the corridor, and at the end of the corridor, there was another door.

The Giant snake slowly crawled toward that door, seemingly wanting to open it. Harry tried hard to see the door clearly, but in the next moment, his consciousness was violently ejected from the Giant snake's body.

"Harry! Harry!! Get up quickly, we have class today." Ron was shaking Harry vigorously.

"Mm, okay, okay, I'm getting up now." Harry opened his eyes blearily, feeling a wave of frustration in his heart as he looked at Ron.

He was just a little bit away, just a little bit away from seeing it clearly!

"So in your dream," Ron took a large bite of chicken leg meat and swallowed it, "you turned into a Giant snake?"

A person turning into a snake in a dream—this was the first time he had heard of such a novel thing.

"It wasn't just any Giant snake," Harry stirred the mashed potatoes in front of him, looked around, and then leaned into Ron's ear. "It was Voldemort's snake."

"What?!" Ron's exclamation almost broke through his restraint, nearly becoming a shout.

Realizing his mistake, he quickly lowered his voice, ignoring the two chicken legs in his hands.

"Merlin's fattest wool socks! How could you... how could you turn into You-Know-Who's Giant snake in a dream? This is too, too..."

Too scary? Harry wondered inwardly; had he scared Ron by being like this?

"Too unlucky!" However, Ron clearly never disappointed Harry. "Mate, how about you buy some more Safety charms or something next time you go to Hogsmeade?"

"Ron," Harry took a deep breath, looking at his friend with a mix of warmth and amusement, "you and I are both Wizards. In other words, you and I should both know very well that those Safety charms are just for tricking Muggles!"

"Just in case, what if they work?" Ron shrugged. "I just think it's really unpleasant that you're seeing things related to You-Know-Who even in your dreams."

"After all, his presence in reality is already high enough."

"I completely agree with you, Ron," Harry sighed helplessly, but his expression became solemn in the next second. "However, I think this is also an opportunity."

"I am a Horcrux that Voldemort accidentally created. Remember? Amanda said I could see some of the situation on Voldemort's side. That means maybe I can get some intelligence from my dreams!"

Harry spoke with increasing excitement. Now that he clearly knew his situation, he wasn't so repulsed by such dreams anymore.

On the contrary, he would seriously consider what kind of role such dreams could play in their fight against Voldemort.

"That sounds very risky, Harry." Ron frowned, looking at him uncertainly.

"It's really strange to hear those words coming out of your mouth."

Harry looked at Ron with some surprise. If he didn't know it was impossible for Ron to become anyone's Horcrux, Harry would almost suspect that the Ron in front of him wasn't himself.

Ron gave Harry's shoulder a punch without ceremony. "It's fine if I'm a bit reckless, but this concerns your safety, understand? I think we'd better go ask Amanda."

As he spoke, Ron pointed toward Amanda, who was sitting at the Ravenclaw Table, leaning against the back of her chair and sipping pumpkin juice after finishing her breakfast.

Harry had no objections to this. The two of them stood up together and walked toward the Ravenclaw Table.

At the Ravenclaw Table, Amanda, who was sipping pumpkin juice, saw Harry and Ron approaching her from the corner of her eye. She put down the pumpkin juice and turned to face them.

Hermione also put down her knife and fork, swallowed the fried egg in her mouth, and looked over sideways.

Looking at the expressions on Harry and Ron's faces, Amanda's brain subconsciously analyzed the situation and quickly reached a conclusion.

"Harry, Ron, good morning. I see an uncertain unease on your faces. Considering it's morning, and neither of you had any such emotions when you left Hagrid's hut yesterday."

"Therefore, the thing that made you uncertain happened at night. Considering various possibilities, I believe the most likely thing to have happened is that something went wrong with Harry's dream, with a probability of 52.3 percent. Am I correct?"

"Er... completely correct." Harry gave Amanda a thumbs-up, once again deeply feeling that Legilimency in the Wizarding World was actually just so-so.

After all, you still have to chant a spell to use it. Look at the Muggle World's Micro-expression study and Human psychology; if you learn them well and combine them well, you can know what someone is thinking just by looking at them.

If you add Amanda's computing power to that, there are almost no secrets left in the world.

"It's like this: yesterday I dreamed I turned into a Giant snake, specifically Voldemort's snake. Then I—no, the snake—was crawling through a dark and narrow corridor. There were doors on both sides of the corridor, and it wanted to open the door at the very end."

Harry described everything that happened in yesterday's dream as best as he could.

Hermione frowned as she listened carefully, her attention mainly focused on the corridor Harry mentioned, while Amanda extracted even more information.

"Harry turning into that Giant snake in his dream proves that the snake has already become Voldemort's Horcrux. That's why you can share senses like vision."

She first stated this point with absolute certainty.

"So that's how it is." Harry nodded, signaling Amanda to continue.

"Setting aside for a moment where the place you saw is, I'm not yet sure if Voldemort is aware of this connection. If he is, he is very likely to use this connection to deceive you and set a trap for you."

"That is, using false images transmitted to your brain to make you believe they are real."

"But what would be the purpose of doing that? Why would he need to lie to me?"

Harry looked at Amanda without quite understanding. Voldemort lying to him? For what?

"To lure you out of Hogwarts," Amanda replied to Harry's question almost without needing to think. "Based on an analysis of Voldemort's likely behavior patterns, he might choose a location outside of Hogwarts."

"It's very likely the place you saw in your dream last night. He would make something happen there that could trigger your impulses and attract you to rush out of Hogwarts."

"For example, letting you see someone getting injured there, or letting you see anyone close to you being captured and tortured there."

"Hmm." Harry weighed it and felt Amanda was right. If it were either of those two situations, he would definitely go to save them directly.

"So that means I can't believe anything in the dreams?"

"No, on the contrary, you can believe it once." Amanda shook her head, her fingers lightly tapping on the Ravenclaw Table.

"According to reasonable speculation, Voldemort has not had the chance to clearly know that you are a Horcrux he accidentally created, but he will likely realize the connection between your brain and his. As I just said, he is very likely to use this to deceive you."

"But before that, he needs to prove one thing first."

"To prove that my brain really does have a connection with his!" Harry also reacted. So Voldemort would test him once.

"Exactly," Amanda nodded affirmatively. "So there is a high probability that the next things Harry sees will happen twice. The first event will be real, a test by Voldemort to see if you can actually see the situation on his side."

Amanda held up two fingers as she spoke. "The second event will be false, a means for Voldemort to lure you out."

Withdrawing her hand, Amanda began to summarize. "In conclusion, Harry, you can be more inclined to believe the first dream you see next, but the second one is absolutely untrustworthy."

"Of course, to be safe, if you have a similar dream again, you can find me using the communicator. This matter is very important and takes priority over my sleep. No matter how late it is, you must find me immediately."

"Through your description of the dream, I can perform real-time Modeling in my brain and judge whether it is a real situation."

"If it's a false situation, then everything you see must be a false memory woven by Voldemort. Based on an analysis of Voldemort's arrogant and conceited personality, the false memories he weaves will definitely have flaws."

"I can analyze where the flaws are through simulation of the Modeling, and use that to judge its truth or falsehood."

"Okay! I understand." Harry nodded vigorously. The next time he had such a dream, he would definitely use the communicator to find Amanda as soon as he opened his eyes.

"Harry, Ron," Hermione waited until Amanda and Harry had completely finished before speaking up to interject, "you've both heard what Amanda said. So remember, don't be impulsive. If something happens, find us first, or find a Professor."

"Don't worry, Hermione." The two boys nodded in unison and agreed. They might be impulsive about other things, but when it came to Voldemort... they could still distinguish what was important.
