Closing her eyes and feeling the warm, soft hands on her temples, the faint pain in Amanda's brain was instantly swept away.
When she opened her eyes again, Alice and Neville had finished their conversation; Alice was holding her son, gently patting his back to comfort him.
Both mother and son had countless things they wanted to say to each other, yet neither needed to speak; they already understood one another perfectly.
"Thank you, Miss Amanda. If it weren't for you, I might never have had the chance to see Neville while conscious again for the rest of my life."
Alice looked at Amanda and thanked her solemnly; Augusta stood on the other side of the hospital bed, affectionately stroking her daughter-in-law's back while nodding gratefully toward Amanda.
"You don't need to be so polite," Amanda said with a calm expression, shaking her head. "You are heroes who fought against Voldemort, and Neville is my friend. Helping you when I am able to is only natural and goes without saying."
She turned to look at Neville's father, Frank Longbottom. "I'm sorry, my mental energy is a bit overextended today. I will come back tomorrow to restore Mr. Longbottom's self-awareness."
"We'll have to trouble you then." For this, the entire Longbottom family expressed their gratitude to Amanda, especially Neville, whose face was now so red with excitement that Amanda almost thought his capillaries were going to burst.
After saying goodbye to the Longbottom family and leaving the ward, the four of them left the space to the family; Alice had just woken up, and they surely had much to discuss.
Walking out of the ward, Amanda had her arm held by Hermione, while Ron turned his head and gave her a thumbs-up. "Amanda, you really are all-powerful."
"You can even handle the aftereffects of the Cruciatus Curse."
Amanda tilted her head and blinked mechanically. "As long as one has sufficient magic, mental energy, and calculation ability, any Wizard could do what I just did."
"Er, that means the vast majority of Wizards can't do it."
Harry muttered quietly from the side; Amanda's magic and mental energy... were those things an ordinary person could possess?
Setting aside magic power, which is generally innate, even mental energy—though it can be increased through training to some extent—
How many people could "train" their mental energy like Amanda did? Almost no one.
Holding Hermione's hand, they returned to the door of the examination room where Mr. Weasley was having his check-up; Mr. Weasley had just finished all his examination items.
A doctor from St Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries led him and five other adults out of the examination room and nodded to Mr. Weasley.
"Mr. Weasley, you have recovered very well. You don't need to come back for further check-ups; just rest at home for a few more days."
"Alright, thank you." Mrs. Weasley smiled with relief; hearing the news that her husband was fine set her mind completely at ease.
After finishing all the check-ups, Amanda and Hermione followed The Weasley Family, Harry, and Sirius back to 12 Grimmauld Place via the Floo Network.
After waiting for The Weasley Family to organize their things, Hermione suggested they take their leave.
"Aren't you two staying for lunch before you go?"
Mrs. Weasley looked at the two girls with gentle eyes, inviting them to stay.
"No thank you, Mrs. Weasley," Hermione said with a smile, shaking her head and gently patting the back of Amanda's hand, which she was still holding. "Amanda did some work just now and overused her brain; she probably needs to go back and sleep for a while."
Amanda was slightly stunned to hear this. She had indeed wanted to yawn several times just now but had suppressed it; she didn't expect... that Hermione would notice anyway.
"Alright then, you two must stay for a meal next time."
"Of course, Mrs. Weasley."
After saying goodbye to everyone present, Amanda and Hermione stepped into the green flames of the fireplace and returned to the Granger Residence in the blink of an eye.
The moment she stood firm, Amanda lightly waved her hand to restore the house's complete protection, instantly banning the Floo Network from the outside in.
Under complete protection, the Granger Residence could only be exited, not entered.
The strength of the protection was such that ninety-nine percent of the Wizards in the Wizarding World could only look on helplessly, completely at a loss.
The remaining one percent were Headmaster Dumbledore, Voldemort, and the person who had once caused monstrous waves in Germany and even the entire Europe.
Walking into the kitchen to pour a glass of hot water, Hermione came over and pressed the hot water into Amanda's hand. "Drink some, it will make the fatigue feel a bit better."
Amanda nodded slightly and took small sips of the hot water. The warmth spread from her throat through her entire chest; just as Hermione said, her fatigue felt much better, significantly dissipated.
Coming up behind Amanda and gently massaging her temples, Hermione said half-seriously and half-jokingly, "You certainly won't have to worry about finding a job after graduation."
"Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor Flitwick will definitely want you to stay and teach."
After all, a Professor-in-waiting who is both highly skilled and good at teaching students is hard to find.
"After today's events, St Mungos will surely try to recruit you as well."
St Mungos couldn't possibly not want a talent capable of resolving the aftereffects of the Cruciatus Curse.
Of course, by the time Amanda graduates, if Hermione is already the Minister for Magic, she would certainly join the fray to recruit her.
And in Hermione's view, when it came to recruiting—or more accurately, recruiting Amanda—no one else could beat her.
"Alright, no more chatting, go to sleep."
Hermione took Amanda's empty cup and waved her off.
"You held back three yawns yourself, did you think I didn't notice?"
Hermione raised an eyebrow as she spoke. Amanda blinked innocently twice, but she still obediently went upstairs, changed into her nightgown, and lay down on Hermione's bed.
"Sleep now." Hermione tucked her in and leaned down to kiss Amanda's forehead.
Amanda nodded slightly and fell into a deep sleep almost the instant she closed her eyes.
Hermione carefully stroked Amanda's cheek, stood up, walked out of the room, and gently closed the door.
At the same time, in the Weasley home, the rest of The Weasley Family fell into a long silence after hearing Ron recount Amanda's feat of waking Mrs. Longbottom.
Especially Mr. and Mrs. Weasley; both of them remembered the days of fighting alongside that gentle yet powerful couple.
"This is a good thing," Mr. Weasley said, pulling himself away from his memories with a bright smile on his face. "The Longbottoms are true warriors. Hearing the news of their awakening is truly heartening."
"Oh," Mrs. Weasley laughed softly and wiped her eyes. "I can hardly imagine it... Alice... that I would actually see the day she wakes up."
"That girl named Amanda really is like a miracle sent to us by Merlin."
Sirius said as he patted Harry's back; if not for this miracle, he might not be able to accompany his godson so freely now.
"Yes, she is the miracle Merlin bestowed upon us." As the people who had the most contact with Amanda, Harry and Ron nodded without hesitation.
The subject of their discussion, Amanda, slept until 4:30 PM. When she opened her eyes again, she saw Hermione holding her in her arms, letting her sleep with her head on Hermione's lap.
"Awake?" Hermione looked down at Amanda and playfully scraped her nose with her finger.
"How did you sleep?"
"Very well." Amanda's voice was slightly raspy from just waking up; she gently rubbed against Hermione's stomach, enjoying the sensation that she couldn't help but find captivating.
"Hungry?" Hermione put down the book in her hand and looked down at Amanda.
"A bit. I'll go make something to eat."
Amanda was about to get up but was pressed back onto the bed by Hermione. "I'll go. You sit for a bit longer and have a good rest."
"Mhm, then I'll trouble you, Hermione." Amanda responded, watching Hermione walk out of the room before leaning back against the headboard and comfortably narrowing her eyes.
After nearly ten minutes, Hermione walked in carrying a bowl of noodles.
She always saw Amanda making noodles, and now she knew how too; she had finally learned a dish outside of Western cuisine.
"Try it, how does it taste?"
"Thank you, Hermione, for your hard work."
Amanda thanked her politely, took the noodles with both hands, took a fork in her right hand, and began to eat heartily.
Taking a sip of the soup, Amanda looked up and gave Hermione a thumbs-up. "Hermione's cooking is excellent."
"It's not as good as yours." Hermione curled her lips into a smile, sitting on the edge of the bed and watching Amanda eat with a face full of joy.
What other moment could be more natural and relaxing than this?
Considering dinner was only a few hours away, Hermione had specifically made the noodles light, fearing it might affect Amanda's appetite for dinner.
After finishing the noodles and soup, Amanda's stomach felt warm and comfortable, yet it wouldn't prevent her from eating dinner later.
Evenings with the Granger family were always cheerful; everyone sat together watching television and chatting, with joy spreading through everyone's hearts.
A joyful night passed, and the next morning, when Amanda and Hermione arrived at St Mungos again.
As soon as they stepped out of the fireplace, a doctor from St Mungos walked up to them.
"Miss Amanda, Miss Granger, good morning. I am Fispu Olly; you can call me Fispu."
"Our Dean heard that Miss Amanda cured Mrs. Longbottom yesterday and wanted me to ask Miss Amanda for permission to observe while you treat Mr. Longbottom today. Would that be alright?"
Amanda nodded noncommittally, her voice devoid of emotional color. "It's fine with me, but Fispu, you should really ask the Longbottom family if they allow you to observe."
After all, it was Frank Longbottom who was to receive treatment, and Amanda believed the opinion of the Longbottom family as the patient's relatives was more important.
"We already asked last night," Fispu hurried to explain. "Old Mrs. Augusta and Mrs. Longbottom both said that if you, Miss Amanda, feel there is no problem, then it is fine."
Amanda nodded at his words. "Alright, then you are welcome to observe." Though they might not learn anything even after watching.
Amanda added that last part silently in her heart, but fearing she might dampen the doctor's enthusiasm, she didn't say it aloud.
"Thank you so much!"
Fispu thanked her excitedly; they were about to witness the powerful ability of the first person in history capable of resolving the aftereffects of the Cruciatus Curse.
If they could learn this technique, St Mungos would no longer fear receiving patients suffering from the Cruciatus Curse in the future.
With this in mind, when Amanda was treating Frank, a full circle of doctors and nurses stood around his hospital bed.
"First step, enter the patient's brain." To make it easier for the doctors and nurses to observe, Amanda even added her own commentary.
"Please look into my eyes, Mr. Frank."
Hearing someone call him, Frank looked up blankly and immediately met Amanda's eyes.
Wandless, non-verbal Legilimency?!
The doctors standing around the bed stiffened in unison; well, they couldn't even learn this first step.
However, the next steps broke them even more. "Because the brains of those affected by the Cruciatus Curse are very fragile, their memories are exceptionally fragmented."
"So it requires entering the patient's brain and memories very gently and slowly with magic."
Amanda explained while controlling her magic with micro-precision. "Note this step: everyone's brain situation is different, and even the same person's brain changes in real-time."
"Therefore, we need to analyze the patient's real-time brain condition to calculate and choose exactly how much magic we need; it cannot be a fraction too much or a fraction too little."
"Otherwise, it might cause secondary damage to the patient's brain, or the strength might be insufficient to assemble the patient's memories in the next step."
As Amanda spoke, the St Mungos doctors around the bed had already put away their notebooks and quills.
There was no point in taking notes... they couldn't learn it, they simply couldn't learn it.
Miss Amanda's first step was still alright, as they could just use a wand to perform Legilimency, but from her second step onward, it was no longer something they could learn.
Though they gave up recording, Amanda's actions and explanations continued.
"After fully entering the patient's brain, wrap all the patient's memory fragments with magic, while simultaneously distinguishing the scenes and the patient's age corresponding to these fragments."
"Assemble the memory fragments that should be linked together, just like a puzzle."
The explanation of the third step ended; Amanda's eyes flickered as she quickly distinguished those memory fragments and joined the ones that belonged together.
The doctors from St Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries standing nearby were already completely numb. Distinguish memory fragments and then assemble them?
This... their coming today really seemed a bit redundant; out of the three steps Miss Amanda had completed so far, they could only do the first one, and even then, they needed the help of a wand!
