For a few long, agonizing seconds, Silver remained entirely still beneath the crushing weight of her palm. He didn't fight her. Instead, his dark golden eyes slowly crinkled at the corners, craning upward to hold her gaze with a terrifyingly submissive compliance.
Seeing his complete lack of resistance, a slow, predatory warmth began to replace the cold fury in Evangeline's chest.
She looked down at him, her dark eyes tracing the pale expanse of his bare chest where the cold water was still drying.
