I stood Frozen, as I have realised how much of a disadvantage My Team is at. The opponents has Alexis who is baseball player. A strong bodybuilder. A boxer with nice reflexes and a track girl with agility of ghost
Most i could hope for now is that the task will be dependent more on the Mental attributes rather than physical attributes.
After announcing the Team, the next page of the file had rules written. Basic rules
"Both teams have to follow some basic rules"I read. I glanced over others, noticing a focused gaze of everyone staring back at me.
"There will be no physical fight. No one is allowed to hit anyone by intention, otherwise contestants will be immediately eliminated."
I read the first rule. Taking a pause for everyone to catch up before i continued
"During the task , teams can make strategies. But once the player of any team is Eliminated from round, then he can't give instructions or interfere in the task indirectly" second rule.
And finally the Task " the Team A and Team B will be facing each other in the lawn. There is a yellow line which divides the lawn in two areas." Everyone subconsciously glanced at the window, mirror door. A curtain from outside starts falling over it to cover outside view.
I immediately glanced at how the camera started focusing on the house mate's reaction on the curtain and i immediately continued reading.
" Two boxes are kept on each side. Both filled with dodge balls. Both teams have to wear the target Hats. Each hat will have a Target disc connected with it.
"It will be a game of dodge ball but to eliminate someone, you have to break the disc of the head." I turned over the page
"There will be at most three rounds. Each round of 14 minutes. Players could use the lawn area as cover. And then after each 14 minute. There will be an end of round. And the team with most players will win the round."
" After each round , there will be a 30 minute break. The task will start after 45 minutes. You can find the task clothes and hats in the magic box. Change and after the curtain is risen again. Each team leader will take a toss and choose their side. Thank you"
15 minutes later.
Time :- 9:30 am
Team A took a blue color uniform and Team B took Red. I wore a full sleeve shirt. Shorts and sneakers. Cap still in my hand. I stood in the kitchen area for privacy so i can have a discussion with my Teammates.
Each person choose their own style. Multiple preferences. I noticed how every Man in Team B chose sleeveless shirts. Girls in team B choose leggings rather than shorts. My eyes subconsciously glanced over at Lisa. She was discussing with her team. Her black hair, contrast to her pale beautiful skin.
I turned back to my team and I said "alright. We can't surely overpower them. The rule says we can't reuse the thrown balls. Even the ball which has just slipped out of hand, so we hide and choose one person and everyone will hit him. That way we can get point and they won't"
I looked over my team, my eyes landing on each of their. Luna looks like she wants to sleep. Mateo looks like he wants to sleep with luna. Rose looks determined. Riley looks a bit concerned but nods anyways. Ethan is distracted, he didn't even hear a word . Rina is the only one I can put some bet on.
When the curtain was removed , all housemates stood outside in the lawn. The yellow strip divided the lawn into two parts. Gym area and couch area. Against the pool and smoking area.
"Alex" lisa called me over and I walked over her. "Heads or tails" She asked me the first moment I reached the center. "Tails" I choose. She picked the coin and flipped it in air and allowed it to fall down.
We glanced at it and it was tail indeed. I won the toss. I glanced over both the areas and considered what could be the best option. "Well , I chose the pool area", her looking suprised me. A confused pout and as she stared at nowhere. Since she didn't expected this outcome.
I returned back to my team. Rose looks at me with wide, wondering eyes "what did you choose ,Alexy?". She asked me. "Alexy?" I thought for a moment, it was adorable to have nickname actually. "Pool area"
Riley looked concerned even more "pool area? But the gym area could have brought better cover". Rina adds on "i agree. They could easily take the cover behind gym items. Even if it's open gym, they get's certain advantage. We can't hide and counter properly."
I ignored the pleas for now. I glanced over at Lisa. Who was gazing at me. Our gaze met and for a moment none of us looked away, until sudden awkwardness washed over and we turned back to our team.i glanced back her team Taking position.
Victor, Alexis and Misha taking cover behind gym tools. Gym tools can't hide thier body entirely but it is difficult to hit through the equipment directly at the target.
I glanced over ave leslie. She is a olympic bronze medalist in the 100 meters. I wonder if her atheletic body will help her. She hides behind the couch for relaxing at the upper right corner of the lawn. She was hiding with Mia. Lisa joined them both behind that corner couch.
Noah sat behind the box. Feeding balls to others.
The ten seconds timer started. "Take cover everyone" Rina was quick one. Immediately sneaked in the cigarette area alongside Rose
Riley and mateo hide behind the Box which carried dodge ball. I and ethan hide behind the lawn chairs.
BUZZ
Round started
I expected coordination. I planned to just take down one of them and hide, but all around me was chaos.
Riley and mateo throwing the ball with full force which often goes wide. I had seen kids with better aim
And Ethan is just singing a ridiculous song. I stared at her with the purest form of shock. My mouth is wide open. And he is just scratching his ass.
"Ethan for heaven's sake! Do something, you ugly oldie"I said. I glanced at Rose and Rina who planned to hide to avoid getting hit. Atleast they are not getting hit.
Glancing up i noticed victor, mia and ave shooting like crazy.
Suddenly A ball hit my face , missing the target but leaving the heat of the ball. I picked the ball and threw blindly with full force at victor. The ball went wide and luckily took target from Alexis.
Lucky shot! I went back in cover. "Guys hide and avoid getting hit. We will surely win" I said.
Then i glanced at riley and mateo standing out of the zone alongside Alexis, meaning they got hit. Ethan was still scratching his but and sniffing.
I signalled Rose and Rina that they should come snd and go for blind shots. But Rose shook her head with puppy eyes. Afriad to get hit. Meanwhile Rina was just ignoring me. Don't the need food?
I glanced at lisa now standing bravely like she had won the round. Others all are standing in their positions. We were about to lose. If I just get one hit, I will get them.
I crawled behind the box. Sneaking my hand in to pick up the ball. The balls were just a few left. I couldn't get my grasp on any ball until a hand grasped mine to hand me a ball.
I almost pissed my pants. I started at camera and they surely got the ugly scared ass shot of mine . I immediately got up to see whose hand it was and I found Luna laying inside. Almost sleeping and staring at the sky.
"What the hell!" I thought. Suddenly a ball came and hit my target in this momentary lapse. And i was also out.
I lost all hope to win the first round, but Luna says "I am sorry. I should have not startled you. Let me repay the debt"
She stood up and picked the ball and threw it so hard and fast that I was shocked.
