Chapter 47 - The beast of the B-rank dungeon

Inside the portal…

This one is very different from the last. There is a pressure here that feels powerful. You guys should leave and report this to the Adventurers Association.

"Alright, let's go, guys," Lio said as he, Lyra, and Aelira left the portal.

Then something strange happened, the portal began to change colors, eventually becoming red…

When Lio realized there was something wrong with the portal, he tried to go back inside but couldn't. Then the guards came up and reported that a B-Rank dungeon had become a SSS-Rank dungeon to the Adventurers Association…

"Is there anyone inside?" A guard asked.

Lio couldn't understand what the guard was saying, but he could feel what the guard was saying, and Lio nodded his head…

"There is someone inside the dungeon! Call for medics and call for the SSS-Rank hunters of Japan to help just in case! Have everyone in a 1 km radius evacuate as well!" one of the guards commanded.

Back to Aerin…

What is going on? I can't leave.

That means I can only do one thing, clear the portal. What a hassle. No sense in complaining now, might as well get this over with.

Then Aerin continued further into the dungeon and eventually came across a forest in a desert…

This doesn't make any sense. How would a forest be in a desert? There is no water or wet dirt for miles.

Aerin then went inside the forest to explore and find out how a forest could survive in a desert…

Hmm, still no water. However, I feel like the space here is distorted, as if something in the forest is warping space within it. However, there is only one thing that could do that in this portal, some sort of monster must be nearby and not want to be found.

How can I get this monster to reveal itself? If I scare it enough, it might attack, so let's try that.

Then Aerin used his Dominant Aura technique and exuded a killing intent so potent that all the trees within a kilometer radius of him began to wilt and die almost instantly…

Grrrr!

There you are, didn't like that feeling, did you?

Then an Orc Mage appeared…

A big goblin, interesting.

"I'm not a goblin," The Orc Mage said as he began to cast a spell.

Of course, casting a spell while I'm still talking to you.

You beasts have no manners.

"We have manners, just not to weak humans," The Orc Mage said as he cast his spell and sent ice shards flying towards Aerin.

I'm having a sense of déjà vu. Oh, that's right, that's what the last monster said before I killed him.

When the ice shards got to Aerin, they had no effect, but it looked like they had hit him…

"How did you survive that?" The Orc Mage exclaimed.

My Spatial Barrier is rather cool, isn't it? It can activate on its own or when I want it to. It's basically instant immunity to magic attacks that can't affect an infinite space.

"What!" The Orc Mage screamed.

Yeah.

Then The Orc Mage began to charge at Aerin…

Huh? Hand-to-hand combat, not a bad strategy. Unfortunately, it still won't help you.

The Orc Mage continued towards Aerin, then punched Aerin in the face…

Pft! Oh look, you drew some blood. Congratulations! Now it's my turn.

Then Aerin began to become immaterial and levitate. When Aerin had gotten to a certain height, he said…

Divine Eye phase one, Judgment!

Then The Orc Mage was erased, no body, no soul, nothing was left of The Orc Mage…

Well, I wonder if that was it.

Aerin then looked at the portal as it began to turn blue again…

It seems that was it.

I don't often use the Divine Eye, but when I do, it always amazes me. The first phase is Judgment. If I decide a being is evil, I can just erase them body and soul. The second phase is Purification. It allows me to cast out demons or those who have possessed a body that isn't theirs. The third phase is Divine Foresight. It allows me to see up to ten years into the future. All of the phases are extremely powerful; however, there are extreme repercussions if I use my Divine Eye too much. Plus, the eye itself looks weird, so I usually conceal it.

Well, either way, it's a nice little ability to have.

Now I should probably get back to my team.

Then Aerin left the portal…

"Medics, make sure he is okay!" one guard said.

"Investigation team, be on standby to ask the patient some questions, and someone get the director!" another guard added.

What is going on?

"You were trapped inside a SSS-Rank portal," the lady medic replied as she treated Aerin's sliced cheek.

Really? The beast inside there didn't seem that powerful, all he did was warp space for a bit and hit me in the face once.

"Huh? Are you saying you cleared the dungeon?" The leader of the investigation team said as he turned around and saw the portal close.

Yeah, so what?

"It can't be, the first SSS-Rank adventurer in The United States," the leader of the investigation team said with surprise.

Look, I'm fine, can I meet back up with my team now?

"Sure, but I need to know where to find you if I have any questions," the leader of the investigation team added.

Me and my team are staying at the housing complex provided by the Adventurers Association.

Then Aerin and his team left to check in to their new home…

At the housing complex for adventurers…

Wow, this is fancy.

"Damn right it is," Lio replied.

"There are two rooms, one for each couple," Lyra said teasingly.

Then Lio and Lyra went to one room while Aerin and Aelira went to the other…

What is next in Aerin's journey? Find out soon…

To be continued…
