Aubrey and Glaiza got close to Chandrika as if an anchor.
"Chandrika…I think he will do something to us," Glaiza whispered with a shaky voice.
"What are we going to do?" Aubrey asked.
Meanwhile, Miguel simply smiled creepily as he stepped forward.
Chandrika didn't step back.
She stayed where she was, placing herself slightly in front of Aubrey and Glaiza without making it obvious.
"Stay behind me," she said quietly.
"See?" he said, taking another step forward. "Now you're starting to understand the situation."
No one answered.
Outside, a distant burst of gunfire echoed across the base.
Then another.
Then silence.
Miguel tilted his head slightly, listening for a second before looking back at them.
"Listen to that," he said. "That's your 'rescue.' That's your 'security.'"
He chuckled under his breath.
"They're losing control out there. And in here…"
He spread his arms slightly.
"It's just us."
Aubrey shook her head.
