As Toby Maguire's Peter was still agonizing over his choice of opponent, Tony walked up to Chen Ye and said, "How about you let me study that Cosmic Cube for a couple of days?"
Tony had no interest in the duel between the two kids. He was now intensely curious about the Space Stone and wanted to take it back for research.
Why did such a miraculous object exist in the universe? What was the principle behind its energy?
All these questions burned in Tony's mind. If he could defeat Chen Ye, he would have snatched the Space Stone and taken it home—perhaps even to enhance his armor's capabilities.
"Not for free. Five million dollars a day. Lend me a few days!" He held up five fingers, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Chen Ye looked at Tony's ostentatious display of wealth and was about to refuse outright. After all, the Space Stone still had its uses—it was needed to replenish the energy of his exclusive skill barrier.
But then he saw Peter still lingering there, indecisively searching for an opponent.
A sudden idea struck him.
"Forget the money. I already charged you a hundred million dollars. I'll lend you the Space Stone for two days," he said casually.
He had no intention of returning the Space Stone anyway; the thing was too useful.
When Tony heard this, his eyes lit up.
However, he didn't immediately show excitement. Instead, he watched Chen Ye warily. He understood a fundamental truth: the free ones are always the most expensive.
He waited for Chen Ye's next words.
*Could it be that Chen Ye wants to avoid the trouble of S.H.I.E.L.D.?* Tony thought. *If it's for the Space Stone, I don't mind taking on S.H.I.E.L.D. for him.*
"But you'll have to fight this kid," Chen Ye said, pointing at Peter.
Tony was taken aback. He had expected an outrageous demand, not something so simple. Now he had no reason to refuse.
"Still saying he's not your apprentice? You're awfully protective," Tony teased.
"No problem. Let's see how strong your apprentice really is." Tony nodded, a spark of combativeness in his eyes. "But I won't hold back."
"No problem. Hit him hard. Peter isn't as weak as you think," Chen Ye replied calmly, his expression unruffled, as if he had absolute confidence in Peter's abilities.
Tony dismissed Chen Ye's response with a shrug. *How strong could some kid who's barely out of his teens really be?*
He walked over to Peter and patted his shoulder. "Kid, your Master asked me to be your opponent." His tone carried a hint of mockery, as if he didn't take Peter seriously at all.
Hearing this, Peter felt a surge of tension. He didn't know Tony's true strength, but he trusted Chen Ye unconditionally.
He nodded, trying his best to appear composed.
"Now that the opponent's chosen, let's get this over with quickly," Tony said, turning to leave the restaurant to prepare for the spar outside. He just wanted to end the fight quickly and take the Space Stone home to study.
But as Tony and his group started to leave, Chen Ye stopped them. "No need. We'll fight right here."
Everyone looked puzzled. The restaurant was cramped—how could they fight here?
"Huh? How are we supposed to fight in here?" Harry was the first to question.
"Are you going to destroy your restaurant?" Wanda exclaimed in surprise. Tony didn't object, though he knew this would limit his abilities.
He stared at Chen Ye, wondering what his plan was.
Chen Ye, with a mysterious smile, said softly, "Who said we have to fight here?"
His gaze swept over the crowd, finally settling on a blank wall in the corner of the restaurant.
At that very moment, as everyone's attention focused on him, the wall suddenly transformed. A door materialized out of thin air.
The appearance of this door left everyone present stunned and bewildered.
They exchanged puzzled glances, their faces etched with confusion.
Yet Chen Ye remained composed. He gently pushed open the door and turned to the people in the restaurant, saying, "Why are you just standing there? Come on."
As if waking from a dream, they immediately followed Chen Ye through the mysterious door.
Upon entering, they found themselves in a square room, roughly 100 by 100 square meters in size.
The walls were as smooth as mirrors, reflecting a faint, ethereal glow that gave the space an aura of mystery and depth.
Tony Stark's eyes widened as he took in the surroundings. "Is this also the Space Stone's power?" he asked, his voice brimming with anticipation and curiosity.
Freed by Wanda, Deadpool was even more excited, patting the walls and running his hands over the surfaces, as if trying to uncover the secrets of this hidden space. He had lived here for so long, yet had never discovered this secret realm.
Seeing the curious and puzzled looks on everyone's faces, Chen Ye naturally concealed the System's role and explained, "That's right, this space was created by the power of the Space Stone.
Moreover, it can continue to expand. Most importantly, no matter what kind of attacks you launch here, this space can withstand them. So, if you're ever bored, you can train here."
Hearing this, surprise and delight spread across their faces. Deadpool was the first to grab his two knives and slash at the wall, only to find no marks left behind.
No one noticed the faint wince of pain on Chen Ye's face. Heaven knew he had spent over 200 Friend Points to create this space. But seeing their awe and excitement, he could only console himself that it was worth it.
"Alright, enough testing for now. Let's start the spar. Harry, you'll face Pietro first," Chen Ye interrupted their fascination with the space and urged them to begin the competition.
Soon, Harry and Pietro stood face-to-face in the center.
"Let the match officially begin!" Jessica Jones announced, checking her stopwatch. Chen Ye had appointed her as the referee.
Pietro put on his goggles and asked Harry, "Should I take it easy on you?" His tone was brimming with confidence, as if the outcome of the match was already a foregone conclusion.
Hearing this, Harry immediately pulled out his Lost Driver and declared with unwavering resolve, "No need. Give it your all!"
Pietro shrugged.
Chen Ye turned to Deadpool, who was standing beside him with a look of utter despair, and asked, "Should we just call off the bet?"
Chen Ye knew Harry stood no chance. He had already sensed that Pietro had activated his mutant ability for super-speed.
Deadpool spun to face Chen Ye, stubbornly insisting, "Don't underestimate Harry! He has the shapeshifter you gave him, plus the world's number one invincible combat techniques I taught him. He can't possibly lose!"
Chen Ye shook his head gently and pointed to Harry, who was sparring behind Deadpool, saying, "It's over. Why don't you turn around and see how your apprentice, Harry, is doing?"
Deadpool turned around, half-skeptical, only to see Harry completely tied up with a rope Pietro had somehow produced from who-knows-where. The Lost Driver, which had been in Harry's hand, was now in Pietro's possession.
"No! Harry, how could you lose so quickly?! My beach, my sunshine, my beautiful women!" Deadpool roared, clutching his head in despair.
Unwilling to accept defeat, he walked over to Quicksilver and complained, "Couldn't you have gone easy on the kid?"
The crowd chuckled and shook their heads at the scene. Though this match had been utterly one-sided, the next one—between Chen Ye's apprentice, Peter, and Tony—had them all keenly interested.
