Chapter 11 - CHAPTER : 11 False Departure

Shin Yato turned away and walked toward the shattered window.

He looked out over the ruined capital—smoke rising, fires still burning, cries echoing faintly through the streets.

"…What a pitiful sight," he murmured.

Then he turned his head back toward the king.

"So," Shin Yato asked calmly,

"do you know where my powers are?"

The king's body stiffened.

"I… I don't know, sir," he said, his head bowed deeply.

Shin Yato tilted his head.

"What?" he said, his tone unchanged.

"You're a king, and you don't know anything?"

"I'm sorry," the king replied quickly, still bowing.

"I truly don't know. Anything related to you was kept highly classified."

"…Oh?" Shin Yato said, a small smile forming.

"Highly classified?"

"Yes, sir," the king answered.

Shin Yato looked back out the window.

"So," he continued casually,

"who are these so-called they?"

The king swallowed.

"…The Holy Kingdom," he replied, his voice trembling.

The air in the room grew colder.

Shin Yato let out a soft breath.

"…Those creepy fuckers are a kingdom now, huh?" he said calmly.

Then his lips curved upward.

"I thought I slaughtered every last one of them," he added, his voice almost joyful.

He turned his gaze back to the king.

"So," Shin Yato continued lightly,

"I will learn where my powers are, right… Your Majesty?"

"Yes," the king answered immediately, his voice trembling.

"But… it will be difficult."

"Difficult?" Shin Yato repeated, his tone unchanged.

"Yes, sir," the king replied, still shaking.

"They are ranked among the top four kingdoms on the entire continent."

"…Top four, huh?" Shin Yato murmured.

He tilted his head slightly.

"So," he asked casually,

"how many kingdoms are there on this continent?"

"T-twelve kingdoms, sir," the king replied, his voice still unsteady.

Shin Yato smiled faintly.

The kind of smile that made the air feel heavier than before.

"Hm…" Shin Yato murmured.

"How many days will it take, and which direction is this 'great kingdom' in?"

His tone remained calm.

"It will take three months," the king replied, his voice still trembling.

"And it lies to the south."

"Okay," Shin Yato said simply.

"I've got the information."

He turned away.

"I'm leaving."

The words stunned both the king and the queen.

Before either of them could react, Shin Yato leapt through the shattered opening and landed in the streets of the capital below.

He began walking south.

The streets were soaked in blood, as if rain had fallen from the sky itself. The sight was devastating—lifeless bodies scattered everywhere, severed limbs lying among broken stone and burning debris. Children cried while clinging to their dead parents. A baby suckled milk from its dead mother's chest, unaware of what had already ended. Wounded soldiers groaned in agony, while a few remaining people and soldiers desperately tried to help whoever they could.

It was a scene of absolute ruin.

Night slowly fell.

By the time Shin Yato reached the outskirts of the capital, the king, the queen, and the survivors within the palace felt a fragile sense of relief.

They believed the crisis was over.

Shin Yato stopped.

He turned back.

A small smile appeared on his face as he raised his hand toward the capital. Black flames formed in his palm, flickering softly.

"Burn," he said calmly.

The black fire shot forward.

Slowly, relentlessly, it spread across the capital — devouring everything in its path.

Screams rose instantly, growing louder and louder as people panicked, trying to run, trying to escape, only to fail.

The cries were so horrific it felt as though hell itself had descended upon the world.

Shin Yato watched for a moment.

Then he spoke softly.

"We will meet again."

And he walked away — south, toward the Holy Kingdom.

Behind him, the capital burned.
