"Exactly what it sounds like!" Gu Yi adjusted her breathing before continuing.
Perhaps sensing Qin Xiao's lack of understanding, Gu Yi reached out and drew a streak of orange-yellow light in the air. The light stretched endlessly in both directions, its ends disappearing into the void.
"This is the timeline of our world. Every person, event, and thing operates along this line."
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but this suddenly appeared before my eyes... so I..." Natasha suddenly appeared, pointing at the simulated timeline.
"It's alright. Come here! There's nothing to hide!" Qin Xiao waved Natasha over.
He then gestured for Gu Yi to continue.
"This line should be boundless, stretching into the past and future. But now..."
Gu Yi waved her hand at the long line.
She directly intercepted a segment in the middle.
"This is our current state. Let's say this point represents our present."
Gu Yi casually marked a spot.

On either side of the circle, she replaced the original orange-yellow with short black segments.
"Time has its own unique, inviolable laws. It's impossible to connect the beginning and end of a single timeline. So, it must be that two timelines have been joined end-to-end, forming this circle."
"These two points—the black segments—are where I saw the past and the future, and where the two timelines merge."
Gu Yi pointed to the black segments.
"I don't know how he managed to make this transformation, but it's clear I can't break through these two areas!"
"Who is he? Do you know who's behind all this?"
Qin Xiao's ears perked up at the pronoun "he" in Gu Yi's words.
"Yes, I know. He's a time traveler—Conqueror Kang!"

"This Conqueror Kang is obsessed with traversing time. He's visited almost every temporal node measured in years. His very presence and his advanced technology have caused massive changes at each point in time."
With a wave of her hand, the timeline erupted into a dense network of branching paths.
"The emergence of these branches brought forth more, and even more deranged, Conqueror Kangs!"
"Each of them sought to reshape the future or alter the past according to their own will, ultimately igniting wars across multiple multiverses!"
"Countless multiverses were reduced to ash. In the end, one Kang emerged victorious. He unified all the timelines that hadn't been annihilated and established the Time Variance Authority to oversee and control the development of each timeline, preventing the formation of new branches and the outbreak of further wars!"
Gu Yi waved her hand, and countless orange light strands materialized, converging into a single, thick timeline.
"This timeline, which encompasses all the controlled timelines, is what we call the Sacred Timeline!"
Qin Xiao glanced at the Sacred Timeline with a puzzled expression. He was also puzzled as to why his own existence hadn't triggered the intervention of the Time Variance Authority.

Ultimately, for the sake of multiversal peace and timeline stability, Agamotto sacrificed himself. By overexerting his power, he used the Eye of Agamotto to help Conqueror Kang control and regulate all timelines, thus creating the Sacred Timeline.
