Chapter 6 - The Awakening ( Pt 1 )

Later that evening, Lin Tianyu's phone vibrated.

He glanced at the screen.

Mom.

He picked up almost instantly.

"Hello?"

"Tianyu! I heard from your homeroom teacher that you fainted in class today," his mother said, her voice sharp with worry. "What happened? Are you eating properly? Do you want me to send you some more money?"

Lin Tianyu smiled faintly.

"I'm fine, Mom. Just a small nosebleed. The nurse said it was nothing serious."

There was a pause on the other end, followed by a relieved sigh.

"You scared me. Your father almost took leave from the office to come to school."

"Don't stress yourself too much. If you fail to awaken, you can always manage one of our Divine Resource Shops. Your uncle said he'd pay you well."

Their family wasn't wealthy, but they weren't struggling either.

They owned a modest three-bedroom apartment in the inner district of the city. His parents ran a stable import business, dealing in specialty foods and low-grade relics. Business picked up during festivals but slowed in ordinary months.

Lin Tianyu thought of the parallel Earth, the one where he had always played it safe, never confessing to Xu Qing. Back then, he would have quietly joined his uncle's business too.

Only now, with a golden finger and a chance to awaken, he knew he wouldn't settle for ordinary.

" Don't worry mom, I will definitely awaken."

" Mhm, if that's the path you have chosen, then we will definitely support you as you."

Lin Tianyu felt his chest tighten inexplicably. " Parallel world or not, my parents have never changed."

After some more casual conversation, the call finally ended. Lin Tianyu lay on his bed, his eyes fixated on the ceiling.

He recalled the system screen; the little bit of hope that had started to rise in his heart was quelled as he stared at the blue interface.

He dismissed the screen and closed his eyes. After tossing and turning for a while, he suddenly sat up and took out his phone.

He unlocked his phone and opened the search page.

If he was going to step into this path, then he needed to understand it clearly.

He typed:

"Difference between Divine Seed, Divine Vein, Divine Manifestation."

Very quickly, countless forum posts and official explanations appeared.

The first three realms were clearly separated in both growth and power.

The Divine Seed Realm was the foundation. Entering into the divine seed realm was as simple as awakening a divine godhead. Ironically, 85 % of the human population fail to awaken a divine godhead, which meant 85% of the human population would never enter the Divine seed realm.

This was both bad and good news; the good news was that there were fewer people to compete for the otherwise scarce divine resources.

The bad news was that on an intergalactic stage, the human race was lacking in core fighting power; perhaps if they had more awakened humans, they could fight for more powe.

Anyway, that was not Li Tianyu's problem now. Since he had awakened the memories of his two lives, he had a good collection of class knowledge of the Divine Seed realm. After all, they had been preparing to enter the Divine Seed realm for the past 3 years.

In the divine seed realm, the body would undergo slight or huge enhancements depending on the level or type of Godhead they awakened.

Yes, Godheads were divided into levels. After all, in the different mythologies, some gods were more powerful than others. How could their godheads be the same then?

Humans categorized godheads into four levels officially: Demi Deities or Demi Godheads.

True Godheads

High Tier Godheads

Main Godheads

There were also the elusive Primordial Godheads, but many Divine Path Scholars argued that those gods did not truly exist but were part of the celestial phenomena of the Path of Gods.

However, what truly baffled Lin Tianyu was the fact that almost all the famous gods of his past life had been forgotten in this era, there was no Odin or Thor...not even Zeus, who was considered one of the most famous gods in mythologies.

It was almost as of someone or something had intentionally wiped out the names of these gods.

" Puzzling" Li Tiny sighed rubbing his temples with a sigh, it seems his path to the top would be on hell mode right from the get go.

" Anyway this should not be a major concern for now" He refreshed the Federation Browser and opened a video site.

Lin Tianyu searched for battle footage. The first videos that appeared were recordings of sparring matches and field tests involving Divine Seed Realm warriors.

The difference from ordinary humans was immediately obvious.

A warrior with a Demi Godhead shattered a concrete wall with a casual strike.

Another awakened with a True Godhead crossed dozens of meters in a single leap before punching through the side of a two storey house, the house exploded into chunks of rock projectiles and dust debris.

The higher the Godhead rank, the more terrifying the display.

According to official estimates, powerful Divine Seed Realm warriors could easily demolish small buildings and, in some cases, bring down entire structures with a single attack.

Lin Tianyu clicked through video after video, his expression growing increasingly excited. His resolve to awaken grew stronger and stronger, which man had not dreamed of becoming a real life super hero, swooping in at the last moment to save the world.

Such a dream was impossible in his past life, but now he was here, what was just a mere fantasy was becoming a reality.

"This is only the first realm..."

He then searched for footage of Divine Vein Realm experts.

The results were far more shocking.

A civilian recording showed a Divine Vein cultivator standing in the center of a raging river. As spiritual power erupted from his body, the torrent split apart around him, exposing the riverbed beneath his feet.

Another clip showed an expert punching into the side of a hill.

The next moment, the entire hillside collapsed amidst a deafening roar.

The comments beneath the video were filled with awe.

Divine Vein Realm warriors could already be considered walking weapons of mass destruction.

Compared to them, Divine Seed cultivators looked like children playing with firecrackers.

Lin Tianyu swallowed.

The gap between realms was simply absurd.

Naturally, he searched for Divine Manifestation Realm battles next.

Unfortunately, there were almost no complete recordings.

No one was insane enough to stand nearby with a camera when beings of that level fought.

Most of the available material consisted of military reports, satellite images, and footage captured from dozens of kilometers away.

Yet even those fragments were enough to leave him speechless.

One image showed a ravine stretching for hundreds of kilometers across barren land.

According to the report, it had been created by a single sword strike during a battle between two Divine Manifestation experts.

Another satellite photograph displayed a vast depression in the earth shaped like a gigantic fist print.

The surrounding mountains had simply ceased to exist.

There were also records of forests flattened by shockwaves, lakes evaporated overnight, and storm systems altered by clashes between high-level cultivators.

Officially, these were classified as natural disaster-level events.

Lin Tianyu stared at the screen for a long time.

His previous understanding of power had been completely overturned.

On Earth, even the strongest humans relied on technology, armies, and weapons.

Here, a single individual could rival nature itself.

A strange excitement began to rise in his chest.

Fear.

Anticipation.

A trace of ambition.

All mixed together.

No wonder countless people dreamed of awakening. No wonder civilizations competed for divine resources.

Power on this level was enough to change one's fate, the fate of a family, and even the fate of an entire race.
