Chapter 190 - Chapter 190: Who Is the Elite-Qualified Pokémon?

"Dangdang! The next item is a great helper for civilian trainers. With it in hand, you can monitor your Pokémon's condition anytime, anywhere. What is it?"

The "Big Sheep" auctioneer clearly knew her routine well. Instead of unveiling it immediately, she bent slightly and called out to the crowd.

"Pokédex!"

"Pokédex!"

As expected, a group of excited male trainers shouted the answer loudly.

"That's right, everyone is very smart! Our second item is an undamaged first-generation Pokédex. Starting price: 150,000 Pokédollars, with a minimum increment of 5,000. The auction begins now!"

For this bronze-tier item, the auctioneer didn't bother dragging things out. After a quick hype-up, she revealed it and struck the hammer to start.

"Airi, you can try bidding, but there will probably be more later. If it goes over 300,000, stop and wait for the next one."

Icarus said casually, clearly not interested.

"Mm! (ω)"

Unlike him, Airi was extremely excited. She hadn't expected her target item to appear so early.

"180,000!"

When the price hit 160,000, Airi raised her paddle and jumped it straight to 180,000.

"185,000!"

"190,000!"

That didn't scare anyone off. The market price of a first-gen Pokédex was around 200,000 anyway.

"250,000!"

Now the real competition began.

"260,000!"

Without hesitation, Airi followed.

"265,000!"

Others were increasing steadily.

"270,000!"

Hearing this, Airi was about to call 280,000, but Icarus quietly raised three fingers.

"300,000!"

She immediately bid her limit—jumping by 30,000 in one go.

That made several bidders hesitate. Everyone knew more Pokédex units would appear later—they'd read the brochure.

"300,000, first time!"

"300,000, second time!"

The auctioneer followed the standard pace, without adding any tricks. This wasn't an item worth overplaying.

"300,000!"

At the last moment, a young male trainer hesitantly raised his paddle.

"Brother Icarus…?"

Airi looked at him, unsure.

"Add 10,000."

He sighed and gestured.

"310,000!"

The auctioneer's eyes lit up. She clearly hoped the other bidder would continue.

But he shook his head firmly.

"310,000, first time! Second time! Third time! Sold! Congratulations!"

The hammer fell quickly.

"Airi, congrats. Go to the aisle and ask a staff member—they'll guide you to payment and collection."

"Mm! I'll be right back!"

She nodded eagerly and hurried off.

"The third item, please!"

The following items included Pokémon Eggs, young Pokémon, and powerful TM moves, but none were essential to Icarus. Even a Geodude with high potential didn't interest him—Shitou already covered the tank role.

As for Airi, she was completely absorbed in her new Pokédex.

"The next item is the final lot of this morning session!"

"I can reveal in advance—it's a newborn Pokémon with elite-level potential!"

The venue instantly exploded.

"Cough…"

Behind her, a cage was shaking violently.

"Open it!"

"Stop teasing us!"

"Alright—final item!"

The red cloth was pulled away.

Inside was a small, trembling Pokémon clutching a bone—wearing a skull helmet.

"It's a Cubone!"

"It looks terrified…"

"It evolves into Marowak!"

The auctioneer smiled.

"This Cubone was captured by the Great Elder of the Wuneng Family. Its mother—a Marowak—was an elite-level Pokémon."

"Of course… she's already dead."

"The bone it carries is made from its mother's remains."

Now it's consistent.
