Sara woke up with a sharp pain in her head, a consequence of the night she had lived through—one unlike any she had ever experienced before. She opened her eyes with difficulty, scanning the room in search of the time as the bright sunlight filled the space.
Lina was nowhere beside her—only her scattered nightclothes remained. She reached for the clock and froze when she saw it was already eleven in the morning.
That meant she had missed her last lecture before the exams.
She jumped out of bed in a panic, hurriedly putting on her clothes, determined to catch whatever classes she still could. She struggled against the fatigue and the heaviness in her head, while fragments of the previous night began to surface in her mind—disconnected images she had no time to fully process.
She paused for a moment…
The car.
The one that had taken her and Lina to the party.
Who was that man? Why did he drop them off and disappear?
Did Lina know him?
She shook her head, trying to push the thoughts away, and quickly finished getting dressed. Despite the pounding in her head, she rushed out and caught the bus to the university.
Her mind was racing the entire ride. Scattered memories, unanswered questions… and only one person who might have the answers: Lina.
As soon as she arrived, she headed straight to the campus café, searching anxiously. She soon spotted Lina sitting with a group of girls from the party, laughing and chatting.
Sara walked up to her without hesitation and interrupted:
"Lina, I need to talk to you. Now. In private."
Without waiting, she pulled her aside and said in a tense voice:
"Tell me everything that happened last night. I remember some things, but not all… I want to know from the beginning—especially about the owner of that car."
Lina's expression shifted instantly. She looked uncomfortable, tilted her head slightly, and rubbed the back of her neck before answering hesitantly:
"He's… one of your admirers. He's the one who sent the car with his driver."
At that moment, it felt as though the ground beneath Sara's feet had given way.
"An admirer… of me?"
It was the first time she had ever heard such words directed at her. Her body trembled, her emotions colliding all at once. Without saying another word, she turned and walked away, leaving Lina standing there, confused.
She couldn't process what she had just heard.
She climbed the stairs to the lecture hall and took her seat, trying to focus on the class, but her mind was lost in a storm of thoughts.
Then suddenly—
A soft voice came from behind her:
"Sara…"
She slowly turned.
It was one of the faces she had seen at the party. A tall, handsome young man with green eyes, black hair, and a charming smile. His appearance reflected elegance and confidence, and the watch on his wrist hinted at a high price.
She greeted him quietly, then turned back, attempting to ignore him.
But a thought struck her—
Was he there last night?
Her mind began to connect the pieces…
He was the one who approached her.
The one who asked to speak with her.
The one who led her away…
Her eyes widened.
She remembered…
His confession.
Their dance.
The two drinks they had shared…
And then—
Nothing.
A complete void.
Fear crept into her heart.
What if something more had happened?
What if she had lost control completely?
She glanced back at him and found him watching her with a faint smile.
She couldn't take it anymore.
Quickly, she gathered her belongings, stood up, and left the lecture hall—even as the professor was about to explain the exam format.
She walked out in a hurry, her heart pounding violently…
And inside her, one question echoed over and over again:
What really happened that night?
