She barely remembered the way home or walking home
As she reached home she went straight to her room , she dropped her bag and sat on the bed, staring at her phone for a moment.
She unlock it , then she typed.
Irene: You didn't come to school. Are you okay?
A few seconds passed, then she got a reply from lucian
Lucian: I'm fine.
Irene frowned slightly, is that it?
She typed again.
Irene: That's not an answer.
Lucian: Just stay out of trouble.
Irene stared at the screen,then exhaled slowly.
Irene :Of course.
The next day was Saturday,school was gone, noise and stress reduced.
But Irene didn't feel rested.
Because now there was no distraction.just only her and her thoughts laying on her bed
"Bauuu", mia peeked through irene's window
Irene looked up, Mia was standing in front of her window arms crossed.
"what are you doing here," Irene said quickly.
Mia raised an eyebrow. "what am i doing?, in my bestfriend house? ", she said before the opened the window and went to her room
" One day you day you will fall down from that window", irene joked
Mia stepped closer and sat beside her. "okay!you want me to fall down from your window", she laughed it off too
"What have you been up to"mia asked as she lay on irene's bed
" What do you mean by that", she replied, her eyebrow raised
"Hmm, irene you and i have been friends since we were kids and you still don't trust me, you didn't open up to me, you have been acting weird this days and you are telling me you are fine", mia accused
" I trust you but you don't really know what i'm passing through you can't just judge me like that, it's heavy... "Irene said, her voice breaking before she burst into tears as she stand up from the bed and start walking around
Mia sighed softly. "Okay… what's going on?"
Irene looked away, the breath in and breath out before she started" I've told you about the vampire bite, right? "
"Yep", mia replied , while she sat on the bed
Irene continued "Okay, hmmm after the vampire bite thing i couldn't explain happened"
"Like what? ", mia asked softly enough to calm her nerves down
" Like weird.. You can't understand even if i told you, it'll just sound stupid and dump in your ear", irene explained
"Okay, i understand that is weird, but trust me i will try to understand"mia said
"It's happened like this, i was bitten and i start to feel strange not as a vampire or a human, and somethings i feels like a vampire and sometimes i feel like a human, i don't even understand", irene tried to explain
" Okay, i get you, right now all you need to do is to relax, have fun and then have a vampire that can guide you and you already have that, so nothing to worry about just have fun, okay? ", mia encongared as she pulls her into a hug
" So do you know what next? ", mia asked as she holds her hand
" What? ", irene said
" P-A-R-T-Y", mia grinned she rushes to irene's wardrobe and flinging it open dramatically.
"Alright, tonight we are fixing your mood," she declared, pulling out dresses one after another. "No stress, no overthinking, just vibes."
"Mia" Irene started, but a small laugh escaped her.
,Don't ,'Mia' me," she shot back, holding up two outfits. "blue or red?"
Irene looked at the difference then she said . "blue? "
"Good choice," Mia said proudly, tossing it onto the bed. "You're going to look stunning."
She turned back to the wardrobe, still digging.
"Wait,heels or sneakers?" she asked.
"Sneakers", she replied
" No, i think heel will do", mia said as she help her to select a white heel
Irene paused, then smirked. "Hmm… we'll see."
A while later, music filled the room as Mia did Irene's hair, humming along loudly.
Irene sat in front of the mirror, watching her reflection.For the first time in days, She didn't look scared, or confused but lighter
"Done!" Mia announced, spinning her chair around.
Irene blinked at her reflection,she looked… different.Not alone the outfit but the make up hair and all
"You like it?" Mia asked, leaning forward.
Irene smiled softly.
"Yeah… I do, i love you, mia", she said
Mia clapped once. "i love you too buddy "
Mia grabbed her bag and headed for the door, before irene stoped her "not like that, is like this", irene said as she jump out from the window
" Ohh, i gat you", she said before she jumped too
The sun was still high when they stepped out.
Mia stretched her arms dramatically. "See? This is what you needed."
Irene smiled faintly. "Fresh air?"
"No," Mia grinned. "Distraction.", she said
Their first stop was a small game center down the street.
The place was buzzing laughter, music, flashing lights, people cheering over silly competitions.
Mia dragged Irene straight to the arcade machines.
"Come on, let's see if you're actually good at anything," she teased.
"I am good at things," Irene replied.
"Prove it.",mia said
A few minutes later, mia starred at the screen in disbelief
"I demand a rematch," Mia said,
Irene laughed, holding the controller up slightly. "i won. Accept it."
They both burst into laughter.
They moved from one game to another—racing, shooting, even a dance game Mia insisted on trying.
At one point, Irene forgot everything.The confusion, The fear, The strange feeling inside her.
For a while, She was just Irene.
After the games, they headed to a nearby restaurant.
The place was cozy, filled with soft music and the smell of good food.
They picked a table by the window.
Mia dropped into her seat dramatically. "I'm starving."
"You're always starving," Irene said.
"Because I have taste.", mia replied as she applied a lip stick on her lip
Irene rolled her eyes, smiling.
They ordered food nothing fancy, just things they liked.
Their food arrived, and for a while, everything felt normal again.Talking,Eating,Laughing.
