'Now what am I supposed to do with these beasts?' I thought about the gifted critters.
They were rare prized beasts all from different corners of Nirn and Oblivion. The first was a Cobalt Sep Adder hatchling. This ancient winged species of snake was mythed to have been created by Diagna, god of the sideways blade. They were short slender dark blue serpents native to upper Hammerfell with notoriously ferocious temperaments and a poison that was HIGHLY lethal. The two leathery wings on their backs were also fully functional to allow the serpents to fly short distances but not for long.-
The second was a newborn Watcher. Watchers were typically found in Cold Harbour, Molag Bals plane and when mature used by him as wardens to his prisons due to their large eyes that allow them to perceive most things in a certain range and strong magical powers. They basically looked like Dungeons and dragons Beholders but with normal tentacles and hidden mouths. The one I was gifted would make a fine guardian of wherever I choose to set down roots once it matures in a few years.-
The third beast was a twilight Indrik fawn. Indrik are magical deer to put it simply. They are like Spriggans considered incarnations of Nirn and are highly territorial and hostile if you are caught trespassing. The twilight variant are ones that Azura took a fancy to long ago and bred for her realm with gleaming star-like horns and dark hides with sparkling dots on the fur and a few scarce feathers on the things. Both the first and second beast were troublesome things as neither could be trained beyond not attacking one or two beings. Basically they could be taught not to try and murder me or Lokjun but that was about the extent of how far that training could get.-
Still I never even considered getting rid of them as they were both very precious creatures for different reasons. The Adder because it was annoyingly difficult to get the venom without either killing the things or owning a trained one. As an alchemist I more than most understood the value of that venom. As for the Indrik that thing was an agricultural treasure. Much like Spriggans the plantlife in the area an Indrik inhabits is always going to be lush and verdant.-
Whenever I eventually set up an ingredient garden the Indrik would serve not only as a protector for it but also as the best growing aid you can find without actually getting a god involved. Honestly the Watcher was the least troublesome of the gifted beasts as it not only was smart enough to understand speech but were known for their absolute loyalty to whoever raised them up. This was an evolved trait actually as they were basically snacks for most of their younger lives and so evolved loyalty to keep them alive from extinction.-
In the end I chose to put it off for until I returned to Nirn.
"Looks like Nocty REALLY likes you! You must have performed admirably, at least not terribly. Admirably terrible! Now then whilst I happens to be in a fine mood lets get you back to Nirn. Off you pop!" Sheogorath said with a grin faster than I could react as he popped up and I suddenly found myself in that cave I dug out before going to the isles originally.
"Ha~ fucking madmen I swear." I muttered with a sigh.
At least I was dressed so that was something.
'Speaking of clothes I should probably change.' I thought suddenly very aware of how I looked.
Six foot nine with large muscles contained in a red suit with crabs on it, a pair of boots with crab legs on them and a top hat with moving crab pincers. I would be lucky not to get attacked on sight. The hat and boots could be forgiven since it was not unheard of for adventurers to carry more than one unusual artifact. It came with the territory. Sometimes you just came across stuff that was really good and it stood out like a sore thumb. A full set however meant bad shit usually and was a death sentence.-
Thankfully I had spare clothes in my storage plane. Nothing fancy but I had a nice tailored blue mages robe with the symbol of the college on the back and some cotton pants that would not draw much attention. Mages weren't that uncommon after all. There were at least a handful or two in each major city and gods knew how many in the wilds. My large build might draw some attention but after seeing no weapon on me most people would just consider it a waste that such a natural warrior was a magic user before going about their business.-
I fed the three new beasts that I had in the plane before unsealing the cave and stepping out into the cold air of Skyrim, or at least I thought I was.
It was endless hot desert as far as the eyes could see.
"Shit."
Turns out good ole Uncle Sheo decided to pull a switcharoo on me.
He swapped the cave I made in Skyrim with one that judging from my connection to Lokjun was in Hammerfell.
'I am REALLY not safe here.' I thought seriously.
Forgetting the wild dangers of this province my biggest problem was that Hammerfell was still an active warzone. The province was still fighting the Thalmor and that meant skirmishes all over this place were nothing worth mentioning. The Thalmor could legitimately field an army to kill me if they learned I was here. There was no worrying about the concordat or the empire striking back if they did. This place was open fucking territory militarily for them.-
'I hate having to rely on something I just learned.' I thought with a grimace as I focused on my newly learnt dawn magic and cast the [disguise self] spell found there.
A shimmer of white soft light swept over me and all of my elvish features shifted and softened into pure human ones and my face puffed out while my hair turned black. The biggest change was that my size dropped to barely six feet and my muscles vanished making me look like a pale skinny Breton mage with a funny hat. The Ehlnofey could freely change their appearances and this piece of dawn magic was a small preserved piece of this legacy with a key flaw, it dispelled the moment you took any damage. It was in the end a temporarily set alteration spell after all.
