Jay slowly raised a finger, pointing it directly at Sophia's nose.

Her chest was still heaving, her voice dropping to a dangerous, low mutter. "Soph..."

Sophia didn't flinch. Instead, her smirk transformed into something sharper, something that made the hair on the back of Jay's neck stand up.

It was the look of a strategist who had already won.

Jay's eyes narrowed, her fury momentarily replaced by a cold wave of suspicion. She leaned in, her voice a barely audible whisper. "What's in your mind? What are you planning?"

The smirk on Sophia's face deepened until it was a full, wicked grin.

Without saying a word, she took a bold step forward. Her body was almost touching Jay's, the proximity so sudden that Jay's instincts kicked in.

Jay took a step back.

Sophia took another step forward, closing the gap instantly.

Jay took another step back, her heels clicking against the hardwood floor.

Step.

Step.

Step.

Jay was being herded like a startled deer, her back moving closer and closer to the open space of the living room.

"Soph... what are you doing?" Jay stammered, her voice losing its edge of anger and turning into pure confusion.

Sophia didn't answer with words. She just kept that maddening smirk plastered on her face.

Suddenly, she increased her pace, moving with a blur of speed.

Before Jay could react or turn to run, Sophia's arms shot out, her hands locking firmly around Jay's waist.

"Soph... let me go," Jay whispered, her face flushing a whole new shade of red as she twisted, trying to pry Sophia's fingers off her. "Let go!"

Across the room, the scene was surreal. Keifer stood frozen on the stairs, his hand still gripped tight on the railing, looking like a statue of a CEO.

Beside him, his mom was just as still, her mouth slightly agape.

They watched the two girls in total, bewildered silence—as if they were watching a high-stakes Netflix drama without any subtitles, trying to piece together a plot that was getting weirder by the second.

The air in the living room turned thick and heavy, the kind of silence that feels like it's vibrating.

From the doorway, their mom finally found her voice, though it was barely a breath. "Soph... Jay..."

Sophia didn't even look away. Her smirk was steady, her eyes locked onto Jay's with a playful, predatory focus.

She reached up, her movements slow and deliberate, and tucked a stray strand of Jay's hair behind her ear.

"Oh, Jay," Sophia whispered, her voice low and melodic. She let her thumb graze over Jay's eyelid, tracing the curve where her lashes were trembling in shock. "Your hair... and these eyelashes..."

Jay felt like the floor had turned into liquid. She couldn't move; she could barely breathe.

Sophia's thumb moved down, dragging softly across the line of Jay's bottom lip. "Oh, Jay... your lips."

Jay's mind went into a complete short circuit. The "Ice CEO" brother and the laughing mother were completely forgotten as Sophia's grip on her waist tightened, pulling their bodies flush together.

"Oh, Jay," Sophia murmured against the shell of her ear, "your thin waist."

The contact sent a literal jolt through Jay. Her voice came out in a high, vibrating pitch that sounded more like a panicked bird than a human.

"SOPH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

Sophia didn't pull back. She leaned in even closer, her lips almost touching Jay's burning cheek as she whispered the final blow.

"Jay, you are so beautiful," Sophia breathed, her smirk never wavering.

"Totally irresistible. No wonder some people can't keep their hands off you."

Jay stood there, frozen in Sophia's arms, her brain completely fried.

She was trapped in the middle of the living room, being "wooed" by her best friend, while her husband watched from the stairs in a state of absolute, suit-clad paralysis.

The living room was thick with a tension that felt like a movie scene playing in slow motion.

Jay, her head spinning and her heart hammering against her ribs, looked at Sophia with total disbelief.

Her voice came out as a shaky, strained whisper that carried through the silent room.

"You both are really siblings," she gasped, her eyes darting between Sophia and the figure on the stairs. "Both of you... just constant flirts."

With a sudden burst of energy, Jay shoved herself away from Sophia's hold, desperate to find some space.

She stumbled back, her heels skidding on the floor—until she hit something solid.

Thud.

She didn't hit the wall. She hit a wall of warm, expensive fabric and muscle.

Jay's back pressed firmly against Keifer's broad chest. He had climbed down the remaining stairs with the silent precision of a predator, and before she could even gasp, his large hand locked onto her waist, steadying her against him.

Jay looked up, her neck craning back, and her eyes locked with his.

Keifer's gaze was dark, intense, and hovering just inches from her own.

He leaned in, his breath ghosting over her ear in a low, dangerous whisper.

"What did you say, Jay?" he murmured, his voice a deep vibration she could feel through her spine. "I'm a flirt?"

"Keifer..." she breathed, her brain melting for the third time that morning.

He didn't pull away. Instead, he raised a brow, his grip on her waist tightening just enough to let her know he wasn't letting go.

He slowly turned his head toward Sophia, his expression shifting into a sharp, protective glare.

"And you," he said, his voice dropping into that commanding CEO tone. "Stay away from my wife."

Sophia didn't look intimidated at all. She crossed her arms, a playful, defiant spark in her eyes as she looked at the two of them pressed together.

"How, Keifer? How can I stay away? She's so hot. You can't blame me for wanting a piece of the action."

Jay's face went from red to a literal purple. She squeezed her eyes shut, wishing with every fiber of her being that the expensive hardwood floor would simply open up and swallow her whole.

"....."

The tension in the room finally snapped, not with a fight, but with the sound of their mother doubling over.

Her laughter echoed through the hallway, loud and unrestrained, as she clutched the doorframe for support.

"Stop... please... let her breathe!" she gasped out, wiping tears from her corners of her eyes.

"Look at her face... my baby Jay... haha! She's practically glowing!"

She waved a hand dismissively at Keifer, trying to regain her composure.

"And you, Keifer! Leave her alone and go to the office. You'll be late otherwise, and your father will have my head for keeping his best manager here playing games."

Jay was a walking bonfire, her skin so hot she felt like she might actually start steaming.

She kept her eyes fixed on Keifer's tie, unable to look at anyone.

Keifer didn't move immediately. Instead, his smirk widened, a glint of pure, unadulterated mischief in his eyes. "Yes, Mom.

You're right,"

he said, his voice smooth and satisfied.

But instead of letting go, he tightened his grip on her waist for one last, firm second, pulling her flush against his suit.

Before Jay could even process the movement, he leaned down.

He didn't go for her ear or her forehead—he pressed a lingering, soft peak on Jay's burning cheek.

The contact was brief but electric.

He pulled away, grabbed his briefcase, and walked toward the door with the effortless stride of a man who knew he had won the morning.

He paused at the threshold, casting one final, playful wink over his shoulder at Jay before disappearing into the bright morning light.

Jay stood there, rooted to the spot. Her mind was a complete blank, her body feeling like it had been turned to stone.

She was a statue of pure embarrassment, left behind in the silent wake of his exit while Sophia and her mom continued to chuckle in the background.

Hey buddies, how's the chapter?
