Just as Erza and the others—three humans and two cats—were walking toward the Royal City, a siren suddenly blared from the sky. Everyone's expressions turned to panic as they ran toward the so-called shelters.
It was as if they had done this many times before; in a matter of moments, the noisy streets were completely empty.
"The Evil Dragon is here?"
Just as Erza showed a look of confusion, an unprecedentedly terrifying Roar reached her ears, nearly deafening her.
Immediately following was a violent storm that destroyed all surrounding buildings. Dust and debris rose everywhere, and the three humans and two cats were blown away by the gale.
*Cough! Cough! Cough!*
"What's the situation?"
"What just happened?"
The three crawled out from the ruins, choking on the dust and smoke, hurriedly covering their mouths and noses.
"Quick! Dragon Slaying Squad, move out!"
"Activate defense mode!"
Many armored soldiers gathered. Amidst the shouts, countless magic circles expanded, and the magical runes on the city walls lit up. A hemispherical, transparent magic barrier enveloped the entire Royal City!
Before everyone could breathe a sigh of relief, a giant purple dragon suddenly streaked across the sky and slammed hard into the magic barrier. In an instant, the world shook violently, as if the entire Royal City were about to be knocked flying!
Waves of destruction swept through, and the ground immediately began to sink!
General Number Eleven, clad in full armor, stepped forward, drew his sword, and roared, "Members of Squad Eleven, follow me! Strike out and eliminate the Evil Dragon!"
"Attack!"
The city gates opened. Led by General Number Eleven, over a thousand soldiers pushed hundreds of Dragon Slaying Cannons into position below the walls. After injecting them with magic power, they fired simultaneously at the Purple Evil Dragon!
*Boom! Rumble!*
Beams of purple magical light pierced the sky, continuously blasting the dragon backward. Explosions kicked up wild winds and flames that ravaged the heavens.
Although the artillery fire was thunderous and grand, the weapons didn't cause much damage. The Purple Evil Dragon merely retreated a few steps before letting out a Roar. The blast instantly sent a large group of soldiers flying and knocked the Dragon Slaying Cannons rolling far away.
Natsu looked on in utter shock: "It really is a dragon!"
"But why is it attacking humans?"
He had always felt that humans and dragons could coexist peacefully, just like he did with Igneel.
Erza hadn't expected to actually face a dragon head-on. Could her previous guess have been wrong?
There was no time to overthink it; regardless, this was her mission.
Since it chose to attack a human kingdom, it was definitely an enemy!
And that so-called Dragon Slaying Squad was simply no match for a giant dragon. Even with hundreds of Dragon Slaying Cannons, it still wasn't enough!
The only plan now was for Natsu and Gajeel, the two true Dragon Slayers, combined with her Dragon Knight, to gather all their strength to slay the dragon.

The three humans and two cats rushed through the city gates without hesitation, heading straight for the giant dragon!
General Number Eleven's gaze narrowed as he roared urgently, "What are you three doing? Come back! That's not something you can face!"

Natsu laughed confidently. With Happy's help, he soared into the sky, arriving directly in front of the Purple Evil Dragon. Magic power gathered in his mouth as he unleashed a Roar.
"Fire Dragons Roar!"
Towering flames swept out. The terrifyingly high temperature caused even the air to distort, looking from a distance like layers of ripples.
However, the Purple Evil Dragon was too fearsome. With just a flap of its wings, it dispersed all the flames.
It looked at the tiny Natsu and laughed loudly: "Ant, are you just scratching an itch for me?"
As it spoke, it raised a claw and swatted Natsu. Like swatting a fly, it slammed him directly into the earth until he was out of sight.
"Natsu!"
"Iron Dragons Roar!"
Gajeel attacked from behind the Purple Evil Dragon, blasting a Roar into its head. However, it didn't cause the slightest bit of damage, and he was immediately whipped a thousand meters away by its tail.
"Requip: Dragon Knight!"
Erza's body was enveloped in a red magic circle. The next moment, a tall mechanical knight appeared. In comparison, it was only one size smaller than the Purple Evil Dragon.
The Purple Evil Dragon laughed disdainfully: "What is this? A mechanical toy?"
Erza gave a cold snort: "Whether it's a toy or not, come and see for yourself!"
Saying that, she piloted the Dragon Knight to leap high into the sky, then stomped down fiercely toward the dragon's back.
"Hmph!!"
The Purple Evil Dragon sneered, swinging its long tail to precisely coil around the falling Dragon Knight's legs before slamming it violently into the ground.
It then dove down, pressing the Dragon Knight's head into the earth with its massive claw.
"Fire!"
On the other side, seeing Erza's group at a disadvantage, the Dragon Slaying Squad started their artillery fire again. They bombarded the dragon fiercely, the powerful firepower pushing it back a thousand meters.

The Purple Evil Dragon soared into the sky and roared upward, its violent power intimidating everything: "All of you, die!"
Surging magic power was released as poison fell from the sky, instantly submerging and corroding the entire land.
"Watch out!"
Natsu and Gajeel hurriedly propped up magic circles, gritting their teeth to resist the storm of poison falling from above.
"Get down there!"
Erza leaped up. Relying on the Dragon Knight's jumping ability, she instantly reached the back of the Purple Evil Dragon, grabbed its tail, and slammed it toward the earth.
"Fire Dragon Mode!"
Natsu's eyes were filled with fury as his entire body ignited with black-red flames. He had reached the highest temperature he could achieve, capable of burning even magic power to nothing.
"Iron Dragon Mode!"
Gajeel also activated his strongest form, his entire body turning a dark black as pillars of magic light pierced the sky and earth.
One black and one red, the two launched continuous attacks against the Purple Evil Dragon. Every punch and kick carried terrifying destructive power. After over a hundred full-strength strikes, the dragon scales were beaten until they were glowing red.
"Damned human brats!"
The Purple Evil Dragon suddenly flipped its body and shook violently, trying to throw the two off. However, Natsu and Gajeel were like sticky plasters, grabbing onto protrusions in the dragon scales and continuing their fierce assault.
"Damn! It's actually this hard!"
Natsu and Gajeel's fists were swollen from the impact, yet they hadn't even knocked off a single scale. Both of them began to doubt their lives.
Could it be that their status as Dragon Slayer Mages was fake?
At this moment, the Purple Evil Dragon finally thought of a way; it simply rolled on the spot, pinning Natsu and Gajeel beneath it, nearly crushing the breath out of them.

Natsu and Gajeel roared urgently: "Erza, now!"

Just as the Purple Evil Dragon was pinning Natsu and Gajeel down, Erza roared. Piloting the Dragon Knight, she raised her greatsword high. Gathering purple magic power, she soared up and cleaved down fiercely.

The giant purple dragon seemed to sense danger and hurriedly stood up to dodge. However, this strike was too fast and too fierce; it cleaved directly into its chest, triggering a scarlet magic storm that submerged everything within ten thousand meters.
*Boom! Rumble!*
The sky lost its color as dark clouds rolled in. Bolts of lightning struck down madly. The earth crumbled and tore apart, cracks spreading for thousands of meters as if it were the end of the world.
"What a fast attack!"
"This is too exaggerated. With such brilliant magic power, those three are too strong!"
"Is this the Fairy Tail Guild?"
All the soldiers on the city walls held up their hands to shield themselves. The light produced by that terrifying purple magic explosion was almost blinding.
The magic storm lasted for a full ten minutes before it gradually subsided.
"Haha, we're saved!"
"That was a close one!"
Natsu, Gajeel, Happy, and Lilly crawled out of the dirt again, their faces showing joy. Even they had been caught in the aftermath of that strike and nearly kicked the bucket.
Fortunately, the dragon's body was large enough to take the brunt of that terrifying magic power.
