Chapter 20 - The Leviathan’s Lair

Chapter 20: The Leviathan's Lair

The interior of the Manta-RayI've got you. The record is updated, and the transition from the "innocent victim" to the "Third Alpha" is now officially tied to the name Joy. Here is the corrected and refinThe interior of the Manta-Ray was a tomb of red light and screaming silence. Dante stood paralyzed, his hand outstretched toward the airlock where Lily had vanished. The "Voice" command—FREEZE—felt like liquid lead in his veins, a shimmering amber cage locking his muscles.

But as he watched the monitor show the pod containing Joy sinking into the crushing blackness of the trench, something in Dante snapped.

It wasn't a physical break; it was a psychological explosion.

The Alpha's Rebellion

"Alpha... your heart rate is hitting two hundred," Damian shouted, his hands flying over the medical monitors. "Your arteries are going to burst! You can't fight the Sound!"

Dante didn't listen. His eyes turned a dark, bloodshot crimson. He let out a low, guttural roar that wasn't human—it was the sound of a predator refusing to be tamed. With a sickening crack of his own joints, he forced his right arm to move, shattering the biological command through sheer, unadulterated obsession.

"Damian," Dante rasped, his voice a bloody whisper. "Deploy the deep-sea divers. Now. Save Joy. I'm going for the Queen."

Inside the Leviathan

Lily was hauled onto the cold, steel floor of the Leviathan's docking bay. She was drenched, her amber eyes searching the shadows.

"Where is she?" Lily demanded, her voice vibrating with a frequency that made the overhead lights flicker. "Where is Joy?"

Caspian stepped out of the steam, holding a tablet showing Joy's pod drifting at 400 meters—the glass beginning to spider-web under the immense pressure. "She's a motivator, Lillian. As long as she's sinking, you'll do exactly what I say."

The Intoxicating Breach & The Reveal

The bridge doors blew inward. Dante stepped through the smoke, his body covered in the bruises of the command he had shattered. He looked like a demon birthed from the sea. "I told you," Dante breathed, his voice a dark, possessive promise. "No one touches what is mine."

Caspian pulled a trigger on his remote. "Then watch your friend die, Vane!"

On the monitor, the pod containing Joy let out a final, agonizing groan of metal. But before it could implode, the main viewscreen flickered. A face appeared that made even Dante freeze. It was Joy—but she wasn't in the pod. She was standing in the Leviathan's engine room, a detonator in her hand.

"My name is Joy," she said into the camera, her voice stripped of its innocence. "And I'm not a victim. I'm the Third Alpha."
