Chapter 64 - Does It Bring Back Memories, My Lord?

Belfast let out a soft chuckle.

"Hehe, as expected of you, Master. Nothing can escape your notice."

As she spoke, she carefully withdrew a perfectly preserved white envelope from the pocket of her maid uniform.

Jun Hao looked at the letter, a premonition stirring in his heart. Perhaps the moment he could truly complete the system mission was finally approaching.

He hadn't expected this opportunity to come so soon. Without hesitation, Jun Hao accepted the letter from Belfast and tore open the envelope.

As he unfolded the paper inside, Amagi's elegant handwriting came into view. To ensure he could understand it, she had written the message using standard Dragon Empery characters.

[| My Lord, please be sure to meet me at the Royal Navy Dormitory port at midnight tonight. |]

[| Yours truly, Amagi. |]

The message was brief, but its intent was unmistakable.

After reading it, Jun Hao carefully folded the paper, slipped it back into the envelope, and tucked it into his trouser pocket.

"Using such a primitive method as a letter to deliver a message... I suppose it's because I don't have my communicator with me. Even if she sent me a message, I wouldn't be able to receive it."

Belfast bowed slightly, her tone apologetic.

"Yes, Master. Miss Amagi and the others tried to contact you as soon as they woke up, but there was no response. Perhaps that is the main reason she asked me to deliver this letter."

Jun Hao nodded in understanding.

"Alright, I understand. I'll go see Amagi tonight."

He paused for a moment before remembering something else.

"By the way, Belfa, there's one more thing."

Taking the empty glass of sweet water Jun Hao had finished, Belfast asked in her usual elegant manner, "Master, do you have any other instructions?"

Jun Hao looked at her and spoke casually.

"Speaking of the communicator, please find some time tomorrow to go to the office building and bring it back for me. I was in such a hurry when I left earlier that I forgot it there."

At those words, Belfast's hand paused briefly around the glass. A flicker of complicated emotion crossed her eyes.

She let out a soft sigh and murmured to herself in a voice too quiet for Jun Hao to hear.

"Sigh... what must come will eventually come..."

Jun Hao didn't catch her words and asked, "Belfa, what did you just say?"

After setting the glass aside, Belfast bowed solemnly in apology.

"Master, please forgive me for taking matters into my own hands. Actually... regarding the communicator, I intentionally chose not to remind you."

Jun Hao was stunned, clearly not expecting that answer.

"Intentionally? Why?"

A trace of self-reproach flashed through Belfast's eyes.

"Because I... also have a little selfishness. It is an honor for our entire Royal Navy faction that you have come here, Master. So I wanted... I wanted the Royal Navy girls to have some precious time alone with you, free from any outside interference."

She paused for a moment and lowered her gaze.

"Even if it was only for a few short days. Once you get your communicator back, messages from the other factions will surely come flooding in. By then, I'm afraid it will be difficult for you to belong entirely to us as you do now, Master."

Her voice was soft, yet every word reached Jun Hao's ears clearly. He knew her words were both an explanation and a subtle way of acting spoiled.

Jun Hao felt no resistance to this kind of behavior. If anything, he sometimes found Belfast's little schemes rather endearing.

This time, just as he had done with Elizabeth, he gently stroked Belfast's hair with a doting expression.

Belfast had never expected that one day she would be "coaxed" like this by someone.

"Belfa, oh Belfa... you're always full of tricks, but I've received your feelings."

Having earned her master's understanding, a more sincere smile blossomed across Belfast's face.

"Master, you are truly too understanding. One day, you might be lured away and devoured whole."

"Haha, it's fine, it's fine. Let them come. What husband would lower his guard against his beloved wife?"

Jun Hao waved his hand with a laugh.

"In any case, please bring me the communicator tomorrow, as I requested."

"Of course, Master."

Just as Belfast was about to leave, Jun Hao suddenly spoke again.

"One more thing! The documents! They really can't be delayed any longer!"

"Yes, I understand."

Belfast performed a proper maid's curtsy once more.

"Then please rest well, Master. I will take my leave now."

With that, she picked up the glass and departed with her usual elegant steps.

After receiving Belfast's assurance, Jun Hao finally felt completely at ease.

For now, he would enjoy a good soak in the bath. Then, after changing into a clean and comfortable set of spare clothes, he would wait for the appointed time with Amagi.

Perhaps because he kept thinking about everything that had happened today, or because his mental energy was unusually high, he didn't feel sleepy at all despite the late hour.

He didn't even bother checking today's port Harmony Level. Instead, he simply watched the clock in the room tick onward.

When the clock finally struck midnight, Jun Hao immediately got out of bed. Straightening his clothes, he prepared to head out early for the meeting.

However, when he opened the door, he found a familiar figure standing outside.

"Amagi? What are you doing here? Weren't we... supposed to meet at the port?"

As he stared at Amagi standing before his door, she slowly turned around at the sound of his voice.

Unlike the special maid uniform she had worn during her punishment for the "defeat CG," she had already changed back into a kimono.

Jun Hao recognized it at a glance. It was the kimono she used to wear most often back when her body had still been frail.

Seeing the surprise on his face, Amagi smiled. She folded her oil-paper umbrella and gave a graceful twirl in front of him, showing off her outfit.

"Does it bring back memories, My Lord?"

Jun Hao shook his head, his expression unusually serious.

"No. Actually, compared to this outfit... I prefer the one you wore after your rebirth from the flames. It represents your freedom from illness, becoming a healthy girl who can eat and drink as she pleases."

He gently stroked Amagi's soft cheek and said, "As for the reason, it's simple. I never want to see you return to your former state."

His words made Amagi's nose tingle with emotion.

"Honestly, My Lord... you're always so good at making us happy, just like you did at today's victory celebration."

"Haha, actually, if you want to see it, I can dance for you too. But you'll have to win an exercise first," he joked.

"Is that so? Then I'll have to work hard together with my sisters. However..."
