"This is nothing like what we agreed on!"
"Ruoning, what the hell are we supposed to do now?"
Huaye stared at the one-sided slaughter in front of him, eyes wide. This was nothing like the scene he had imagined, where he would lead the male angels on a glorious rampage.
These little angel girls were far stronger than he had expected.
"What are we supposed to do? At a time like this, you're asking me that?"
"Other than carving out a path through blood, do we have any other option?"
Ruoning, the brown-haired angel with a matronly face, frowned. Ever since she had thrown in with Huaye, she had aged noticeably. Aside from his bloodline, there was really nothing about Huaye that could be counted on, and dealing with him left her exhausted and frustrated.
"All right, your call. Then we kill."
Huaye looked at the impatient Ruoning, and a shadow flashed through his eyes, one no ordinary person would ever have noticed.
"Hear my order, follow me, kill!"
"If any of you keep running, then heh, you already know what happens next!"
Ruoning raised her sword and shouted, her dark-energy signal spreading through the void.
"Kill!"
The angel scum who had been getting massacred by Jovian's hundred thousand school-uniform angels all showed a flicker of fear when they saw the blade in Ruoning's hand. Forced to choose between Ruoning in front of them and the lovely, delicate angels behind them, they had no choice but to scrape together what little "courage" they had, form up, and prepare to fight the school-uniform angels to the death.
"Crush them all!"
The moment Ruoning saw the angel scum rally again under her roar, she gripped her sword and charged at the front.
"Traitor Ruoning, kneel and die!"
The second two school-uniform angels spotted Ruoning, they shouted in fury and rushed her with flaming swords in hand.
"Two nobodies who aren't even guardian angels think they can challenge me? You're ten thousand years too early!"
Ruoning looked at the two ordinary school-uniform angels with contempt and flew straight toward them with her blade ready.
"Ah!"
Two flashes of silver light cut through space, and in a single exchange, both school-uniform angels were struck down.
"That's all?"
Ruoning looked at the two angels she had defeated, her eyes full of disdain.
As Kayle's former Left Wing Guard, Ruoning had overwhelming combat experience and fighting power second only to king-level chief gods. In an instant, she had cut down the two school-uniform angels leading the charge.
"If you people lost to opponents at this level, then you really are worthless!"
"Pull yourselves together. They're nowhere near as strong as you imagined!"
After cutting down the two angels, Ruoning did not recklessly keep pushing forward. Instead, she lowered her sword and roared at the countless angel scum behind her.
"Kill! Kill them all!"
"You saw it too, those little bitches aren't invincible!"
"Follow Ruoning and grab every last one of them!"
Huaye knew Ruoning was trying to fire up his men. After messing around with her for thousands of years, he knew her too well. He immediately joined in and shouted to his followers.
"Kill! For our king!"
The foppish angel scum, after seeing Ruoning defeat two school-uniform angels so easily, suddenly all felt like they could do it too. One after another, they charged forward shouting and tangled with the school-uniform angels in battle.
"They're not completely useless after all."
Ruoning let out a quiet breath at the sight, forcing down the tremor in her wrist. These new angels were even stronger than she had imagined. Their third-generation divine bodies were absolutely real.
But right now, she could not let any of that weakness show. Otherwise, this whole pack of angel scum would scatter on the spot.
"Go bring me those two beautiful angels that got cut down. It's been forever since I've had a beautiful female angel, I'm so pent up I can barely stand it. Bring them over so I can cool off!"
Huaye looked at the two sweet-looking school-uniform angels Ruoning had struck down and gave a lewd grin. He was already sick of Ruoning's shrewish face. It was time for a change.
"At once!"
The guards at Huaye's side immediately sashayed over toward the two fallen angels after receiving his order.
"Hehehe..."
"Being favored by our king is an honor for you two!"
The two burly male angels, dripping with affected mannerisms, sneered obscenely at the two fallen school-uniform angels.
"Pah! Die, angel scum!"
A vicious flash passed through the eyes of the two school-uniform angels. Ignoring the blood still pouring from their wounds, they lunged forward and wrapped themselves around the two angel scum.
"You... what are you doing?"
The angel scum's faces changed at once when they saw the shocking strength that suddenly exploded out of the school-uniform angels. A terrible feeling rose in their hearts.
"Long live our king!"
The school-uniform angels smiled and shouted at the top of their lungs.
In the next instant, terrifying power erupted from their bodies.
"Have you lost your minds? If you do this, you'll die too..."
Only then did the angel scum realize what the school-uniform angels were trying to do. Their faces went white, like they had been scared out of their souls.
"We were already dead anyway. But even if we die, we're taking you with us..."
A savage look flashed across the beautiful faces of the school-uniform angels. Even at death's door, they were smiling. To die for their king was worth it.
Boom!
The moment those beautiful angels finished speaking, a spatial-isolation field instantly formed around them in a ten-meter radius. Then power equal to a supernova explosion, a hundred and fifty billion degrees of destructive force, erupted from their bodies. In a flash, it took the two angel scum with them, blasting them so completely that not even a single particle remained. Every trace of their information signatures was wiped clean. There was no possibility of revival left.
...
When the school-uniform angels across the battlefield saw those two pillars of light rise into the void, they all turned and offered their fallen sisters a solemn, respectful gaze. They were beautiful and graceful, yet utterly fearless in the face of death, and terrifyingly strong.
"Living bombs? This is your new king?"
The sight made sweat bead instantly across Ruoning's forehead. An explosion on that level was something no one in the known universe should have been able to tank. Even Sacred Kayle would have been blown into particles and forced to reconstitute herself afterward. But that was Sacred Kayle, one of the most powerful gods in the known universe, vastly stronger than Ruoning. There was no way Ruoning herself would survive an attack like that.
Even though she possessed subspace transport tech and did not fear these people's spacetime lockdowns, if something stronger froze her in place, she would die just the same.
"And you people actually serve a king like that? How pathetic!"
Ruoning roared, but when she looked toward Jovian, there was now unmistakable fear in her eyes. A ruler with power, ambition, and a cold enough heart, that was exactly the kind of king every civilization in the known universe had reason to fear.
"Our king doesn't need judgment from a traitor like you!"
The second Ruoning shouted that, several angels came at her with flaming swords drawn, ready to teach her a lesson for running her mouth.
"All of you, stand down!"
"She's one of our elders. You're no match for her!"
Just as those ordinary angels were about to strike, Leng, having already cut down hundreds of angel scum, flew over carrying a guardian-grade flaming sword.
"Leng..."
"Heh. I was wondering who could talk that big. Turns out it's you, girl."
"What, did you forget your teacher's power already?"
Ruoning looked at the girl she had personally trained, violence simmering in her gaze.
"No, no, you've got it all wrong. Total misunderstanding, my dear teacher!"
"How could I possibly be a match for you?"
The moment Leng heard that, she waved her hand frantically and put on a panicked look.
"Heh, at least you know better. If you know you're not my match, why are you still standing in my way?"
"Leng, I'm just saying, Kayle already lost, and your new king doesn't look that impressive to me. Installing bombs in your bodies, that's disgusting. Why not join us instead? Join the true Angel King. I'll let you keep serving as my lieutenant. I'll give you the privilege of standing second to one and above ten thousand."
"After all, whatever else happens, you're still my good student."
Ruoning narrowed her eyes and tried to tempt her.
"Heh. You don't need to worry about that."
Anger flashed in Leng's eyes. Ruoning's words had clearly hit a nerve. Leng lifted her sword, deciding to answer her teacher's question with steel.
"Leng!"
"Stop being stubborn!"
"You should know better than anyone that you can't beat me by yourself!"
Ruoning had never been a patient person, and Leng's answer finally pushed her over the edge.
"That's true. Alone, I'm definitely no match for you, teacher. But I'm not alone."
Leng smiled slightly. She knew perfectly well that she could not beat her teacher by herself, but that only applied if she was fighting alone.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
A bad feeling hit Ruoning instantly.
"It means your opponent isn't just Leng. It's us too."
The moment Ruoning sensed something was wrong, several high-level energy sources instantly surrounded her.
"Heh..."
Ruoning looked around at the angels surrounding her and let out a cold laugh. Every one of them was someone she recognized, the top senior guardian angels under Kayle.
Zhui, Mo Yi, Lingxi...
More than a dozen of Kayle's strongest senior guardian angels.
Even Zhixin, who had never specialized in combat, had come before her with a flaming sword in hand.
And at the center of them all was Yan, the one who had taken Ruoning's place.
"What, you're planning to gang up on one old woman?"
Ruoning did not make a reckless move. There was still no one in the known universe who could face ten senior guardian angels head-on without changing expression.
"What, are you scared?"
Yan smiled and asked with open mockery on her face.
"Scared?"
"Little girl, I was going to war and cutting down a thousand enemies before you were even born!"
"And you want to talk to me about fear? Heh..."
Ruoning sneered. She might be ugly and rotten on the inside, but she truly did have the right to throw her weight around in front of these angels. She had once been Kayle's Sacred Left Wing.
"Oh, you're scared."
"You can see it yourself. Even the low-level little angels you never thought much of have all been fitted with third-generation divine bodies and stellar-class drive engines now!"
"So tell me, what level do you think the rest of us are at now, when we were already senior guardian angels to begin with?"
Yan sneered, each word driving straight into Ruoning's heart.
"Little girl!"
Ruoning's expression darkened, but she did not argue. Yan was right. If even the low-level angels had third-generation divine bodies and stellar-class drive engines, and could ignite the miniature stars inside their bodies to trigger a supernova at any moment, then she could not begin to imagine what level these senior guardian angels had reached. They might already be on her level, or even above it.
Against Leng alone, Ruoning had still been confident. She could even have used the fight to gauge Leng's new strength.
But now...
Ruoning's mind held only one word.
Run.
Buzz!
Just as Ruoning prepared to flee, several senior guardian angels swung their swords at the same time and raised a spatial barrier.
"What is this supposed to mean?"
Ruoning frowned at the barrier that cut her off from the surrounding battlefield.
"Our king said we're using you for live-combat training!"
Yan stood there with one hand on her hip, smiling at Ruoning.
"What?!"
Ruoning felt a wave of humiliation slam into her. They were going to use her for training? They were really looking down on her that much?
"Then die!"
In an instant, the battle exploded.
"Ruoning's no pushover. Even I'm not sure I could take her down. And you're really sending a bunch of little girls in there? Aren't you worried they'll get butchered?"
Morgana noticed the huge spatial barrier, curled her lips upward, and spoke to Jovian.
"The 'little girls' you're talking about are equipped with massive stellar-class bio-engines, advanced anti-void bio-engines, advanced secondary bio-engines, and third-generation peak divine bodies stronger than a peak beast-body. Forget Ruoning, if you went in there yourself, they'd beat you flat."
Before Jovian could even speak, Hexi had already started mocking Morgana.
"You..."
"Heh, I'm not arguing with you."
Morgana shot Hexi a glare and said nothing more.
"Fitting every angel with a miniature stellar-class bio-engine and a mid-level secondary bio-engine, giving every angel another safeguard and another life, no one else in the universe could ever pull off something like this."
Kayle looked at the one-sided battlefield before her and spoke to Jovian in her usual calm voice.
"There are so many stars in the universe, just use them. It's not like the universe is going to disappear because it loses a few billion stars. The universe will keep turning and keep expanding no matter who's gone."
Jovian smiled. The Milky Way alone had two hundred billion stars, and on the scale of the entire universe, the Milky Way was as tiny as a paramecium. After Jovian cracked Leona's information, then combined the power of the Three Queens with the MCU Ant-Man's abilities, Tony Stark's genius inventions, and the computational power of Infinity Ultron, who had nearly destroyed the multiverse, he had successfully shrunk actual celestial stars and transformed them directly into bio-engines.
On top of that, Jovian had copied Kayle's secondary bio-engine. Even though it was only a simplified version, he still installed one in every angel. That meant every angel could, at a critical moment, detonate the stellar-class bio-engine inside her own body without hesitation and inflict devastating damage on the enemy.
From that day on, once the angels realized that every last one of them had been piled up into a third-generation divine body by Jovian's seemingly limitless resources, they understood a single truth. Kayle could bring the angels a future, but Jovian was the angels' future.
To these young angels now, Jovian was their god. If anyone dared say a single bad word about him, they would cut that person's head off and kick it around like a soccer ball.
That was also why the instant anyone insulted Jovian, these angels would roar and rush in to blow themselves up fighting to the death.
The war raged on, while Jovian was already starting to get sleepy.
This was a completely one-sided battle. There was no need for Jovian to worry about it at all. It would probably be over soon enough.
To be honest, if Jovian had not wanted to use this fight as training, so his angels would not be shaken if they ever ran into a brutal war against Darkseid, he would have locked down the surrounding space and dropped a supernova explosion on this pack of angel scum himself a long time ago.
