Henry stayed quiet after hearing the condition.
Because honestly—
it was a terrible deal for him.
If he signed the contract, he would never be able to directly harm Crowley. Meanwhile nothing in the agreement stopped Crowley from turning around and trying to kill him whenever convenient.
And Henry was fully aware he was probably already somewhere on Crowley's future problem list.
But at the same time—
without the method for making Colt bullets, killing Lilith later would become significantly harder. In another timeline Ruby might have eventually helped Sam recreate them, but Henry had no intention of relying on uncertain futures and demon favors.
He needed certainty.
And Crowley currently held it.
Henry narrowed his eyes slightly. "How exactly am I supposed to trust you not to come after me once Lilith's dead?" he asked. "Because let's be honest, I'm pretty sure my name's already sitting somewhere on your murder list."
Crowley gave a small amused smile at that.
"Oh, please," he said smoothly. "Everyone's on my murder list eventually."
Crowley continued calmly, "But here's the thing, Henry—you're the one who needs something." He lightly pointed a finger toward him. "I already stated my condition. It won't change."
The room became quieter after that.
Then Crowley glanced toward the clock on the wall.
"And unfortunately," he added casually, "time is ticking."
Henry let out a long sigh.
Honestly, he hated this.
The deal heavily favored Crowley, and both of them knew it. But without the Colt bullets, future fights against Lilith would become far more dangerous than they already were.
So unless he wanted to gamble the survival of everyone around him—
he needed this contract.
"Fine," Henry muttered finally. "I agree." Then he pointed at Crowley immediately afterward. "But don't kiss me. I hate men kissing me."
Crowley looked mildly offended.
"Hmmm," he said dryly, "how wonderfully old-fashioned of you."
With a lazy flick of his wrist, an old parchment appeared in his hand. Crowley tossed it forward casually, and the contract unrolled itself across the floor before stopping near Henry's feet.
"Read carefully," Crowley said while sitting back down in the chair. "I do so enjoy the part where humans skip the details and ruin their lives."
Henry crouched slightly and picked up the parchment with visible distrust.
Then he looked toward Bela.
"Bela," he said, "you're supposed to be good at finding loopholes, right?"
Bela raised an eyebrow slightly. "Supposed to?"
"I'm serious," Henry replied while handing her the contract. "I absolutely suck at this kind of thing."
Crowley smiled faintly from his chair. "Well that's reassuring."
Then the next hour turned into an exhausting nightmare of legal language and hidden tricks.
Henry sat beside Bela on the couch while both of them carefully went through every line of the contract.
Crowley, meanwhile, looked perfectly relaxed in the chair across from them, casually drinking while watching the process like someone enjoying live entertainment.
Every few minutes Bela would suddenly stop reading and narrow her eyes at another line.
"…This clause basically lets you redefine 'harm' whenever convenient," she said flatly.
Crowley gave a lazy shrug. "Flexibility is important in contracts."
A few pages later—
"Nope. This part practically guarantees he goes to Hell if he accidentally causes your death indirectly."
Crowley took another sip from his glass. "Accidents happen."
Henry rubbed his forehead tiredly. "You are genuinely evil."
"Thank you."
Bela kept reading.
The deeper they went, the worse the loopholes became. Hidden wording. Double meanings. Entire paragraphs designed to trap Henry later under technicalities.
At one point Bela actually looked impressed despite herself.
"This is disgusting," she admitted quietly while marking another section. "Legally speaking, anyway."
Crowley smiled proudly. "Flattery will get you everywhere."
Henry leaned back with visible frustration. "How the hell do humans even survive making deals with you people?"
"They don't," Crowley replied calmly.
Eventually Bela dropped the latest page onto the table with annoyance.
"You intentionally buried traps everywhere."
Crowley looked genuinely confused by the accusation.
"Well of course I did," Crowley said. "Fooling people is also an art form." A faint smirk appeared afterward. "And honestly, it's rather foolish of you to expect fairness from demons."
Henry ignored the smugness and pointed toward one of the rewritten sections Bela had marked.
"Well here's the final condition," he said flatly. "My soul does not go to Hell if I indirectly cause your death. I only agreed not to personally kill you."
Crowley's expression paused slightly.
"…How annoying," he muttered.
Because technically—
Henry was right.
The original wording gave Crowley too much room to manipulate the outcome later.
Crowley picked it up and read the correction carefully.
Then he sighed dramatically like they had ruined his favorite hobby.
"You two are absolutely dreadful to negotiate with."
"That sounds like a compliment coming from you," Bela replied.
Crowley glanced at her briefly before finally nodding once.
"Fine," he said. "Agreed."
Henry let out a tired sigh after hearing that.
Then he cut his palm lightly and pressed blood onto the parchment.
The contract glowed faintly for a moment before the light vanished into the paper itself.
"Finally," Crowley muttered as though the entire process had exhausted him personally.
Then he stood up and extended his hand toward Henry.
Henry looked suspicious for exactly one second before shaking it.
"It's been a pleasure cooperating with you," Crowley said smoothly.
"Pretty sure this counts as the worst decision of my month," Henry replied.
Crowley laughed softly at that before reaching into his coat and pulling out an old folded paper.
He handed it over.
"The formula for the Colt bullets," he said. "Try not to blow yourself up while making them."
Henry took the paper immediately.
"And as for Lilith," Crowley added while adjusting his suit calmly, "do kill her as soon as possible." His expression darkened slightly afterward. "She's becoming unbearable."
