Outside the building, Allen stood on the rooftop of the opposite building, the night wind rustling his black trench coat. His eyes glowed crimson in the darkness, clearly seeing Arima Kishou leading a team of Investigators away from headquarters.
"They took the bait," he murmured to himself, his figure flickering and disappearing into the night.
In District 20, Anteiku Cafe had closed for the night, but the lights were on inside. Yoshimura Kuzen had gathered all his employees, standing grim-faced behind the counter.
"The CCG has surrounded the entire District 20," the old man's voice was heavy, "It seems they are coming for us."
Kirishima Touka clenched her fists: "Is it because of that person?"
"Most likely." Yoshimura Kuzen nodded, "No matter what, we must be prepared. Touka, you take Kaneki Ken and the others out through the back door."
"What about you?" Kaneki Ken asked anxiously.
"I'll stay behind to buy time." Yoshimura Kuzen's kakugan flickered, "This is the manager's responsibility."
"Let me be the One-Eyed Owl one last time…"
Just then, the cafe's doorbell suddenly rang. Everyone instantly tensed, turning towards the door.
Allen pushed the door open, carrying a unconscious Investigator: "Sorry to interrupt your farewell ceremony."
He threw the Investigator to the ground, clapped his hands: "But you don't need to run for now. I've already lured all of the CCG's main force to District 5."
Yoshimura Kuzen looked at the Investigator on the ground in shock: "What did you do?"
"Just caused them a little trouble." Allen walked to the counter, poured himself a glass of water, "Now, it's time to talk business."
He scanned the crowd, his gaze finally landing on Yoshimura Kuzen: "The Washuu Family are ghouls, have been for generations."
A dead silence fell over the cafe.
Allen put down the glass of water, "They control the CCG, ostensibly hunting ghouls, but in reality, they are eliminating disobedient members of their own kind to maintain their rule."
Kirishima Touka's face was pale: "What about humans?"
"Just pawns." Allen sneered, "The Washuu Family needs humans as a food source, so they naturally won't truly eradicate all ghouls."
Yoshimura Kuzen's hands trembled slightly: "How do you know all this?"
"It's not important." Allen stood up, "What's important is, are you willing to help me overthrow the Washuu Family?"
Silence fell over the cafe again. After a long while, Yoshimura Kuzen slowly looked up: "How do you plan to do it?"
Allen's lips curved into a slight smile: "It's simple. Tonight, I will assault the CCG headquarters. You only need to do one thing—"
He ground coffee beans into powder and put them into the glass of water. The water, which had just been clear and transparent, instantly became incredibly murky: "Expose the truth to the public, stir up the waters. The murkier, the better the effect."
Just then, the cafe's glass suddenly shattered, and several smoke grenades rolled in. Allen's eyes narrowed, and he instantly deployed a Psychokinesis barrier, keeping the smoke out.
"It seems we have uninvited guests," he said coldly.
From the smoke, a white-haired figure slowly approached, his quinque weapon glinting with a cold light.
"I found you," Arima Kishou's voice was chillingly cold.
Allen smiled: "The White Reaper, Arima Kishou, has come in person. What an honor."
Arima Kishou's new quinque slowly unfolded. It was a long, silver-white spear, its shaft covered with intricate blue patterns like electrical circuits. The spearhead consisted of three rotatable blades, emitting a high-frequency vibrating hum in the air.
"IXA Modified," Arima Kishou's voice was icy, "Specially prepared for you."
The spearhead suddenly burst with a dazzling blue light. The three blades rotated at an imperceptible speed, cutting strange trajectories in the air. The ground silently split open with a deep, mirror-smooth cut as the spearhead passed over it.
Allen stood still, a playful smile on his lips: "This toy looks quite expensive."
Arima Kishou wasted no words. His figure instantly vanished from his spot, the IXA Modified drawing a blue arc in the air, aimed directly at Allen's throat. Where the spearhead passed, the air was torn into fine black cracks.
"Bang!"
A soft sound.
Allen used only two fingers to clamp the spearhead, which was capable of tearing through steel. The rapidly rotating blades emitted a harsh grinding sound between his fingers, but could not advance an inch.
Arima Kishou's pupils suddenly contracted.
"Good speed," Allen commented, "Just a bit lacking in power."
He gently twisted his fingers.
"Crack—"
The IXA Modified, touted as the CCG's strongest weapon, snapped in half. The blue patterns instantly extinguished. Arima Kishou reacted extremely quickly, immediately releasing the weapon and retreating, but Allen was even faster.
His figure suddenly disappeared, reappearing in front of Arima Kishou the next second. His right hand, like lightning, clasped the other's throat: "You've come at just the right time. It saves me the trouble of looking for you."
Arima Kishou's pupils suddenly contracted. He hadn't even seen Allen's movements!
"Bang!"
Allen slammed Arima Kishou heavily to the ground. The floor instantly cracked. The Investigator grunted, but, well-trained, he immediately counterattacked, his right hand forming a blade and thrusting directly at Allen's chest.
"Too slow." Allen easily dodged, delivering a hand chop to Arima Kishou's wrist. His five fingers splayed out weakly.
Inside the cafe, Yoshimura Kuzen shielded the others, retreating to a corner, watching the scene before him in shock—the CCG's strongest fighter was being completely suppressed!
Arima Kishou struggled to his feet, a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth: "Who exactly are you?"
Allen didn't answer. Instead, he walked up to him: "You are very strong. I hope you can bring me more surprises next time we meet."
He had no intention of killing Arima Kishou. After all, fighting one Arima Kishou advanced his progress more than fighting ten nameless thugs. Such a useful tool should be kept.
Allen's words instantly solidified the air in the cafe. Yoshimura Kuzen and the ghouls of Anteiku Cafe exchanged glances, completely unable to comprehend the man's logic.
"Is he praising that man named Arima Kishou?" Kaneki Ken whispered, his voice full of confusion.
Kirishima Touka's lips twitched: "This lunatic, he almost killed the CCG's strongest fighter just now, and now he's saying the other person is strong?"
Arima Kishou himself had an ashen face. As the CCG's undefeated legend, he had never suffered such humiliation. He struggled to get up but found that his whole body felt like it was falling apart.
"Don't rush to move. You're severely injured right now." Allen squatted down, casually placing a hand on Arima Kishou's shoulder.
Arima Kishou stared coldly at Allen: "What exactly do you want?"
"I told you," Allen showed an innocent expression, "I just think you're very strong, and I hope you can bring me more surprises next time we meet."
