"Princess," Fionn called. He sat upright and brushed strands of hair from her face using the hand that he once used for his support. Kiara still sat on his laps. She looked at him, her eyes still red, though tears didn't come out. "We have to get up."
Kiara was hesitant; she didn't want to move. Looking between her dad and Fionn, she shook her head. "I won't. He'll attack you."
Julian scoffed. He supported his forehead with his hand and shook his head. What does she think of me? He thought. With a sigh, he looked her way. "Kiddo," Kiara looked at her dad. His lips curved into a reassuring smile. "I just wanna talk. I won't do anything to me."
"Sure, promise."
Julian held up his hands. "You have my word." He turned to his other daughters, nodding at them. "Help them up."
Beatris was the first to move, stepping forward with a careful glance at both men. Saddie followed closely, her movements slower, while Kayla lingered for just a second before joining them.
