What is this?
Jessica eyes widened as she stared at it for a long time. The tattoo was something she had never seen. Her years of experience had taught her every type of Tattoo that could had existed.
"What happened?"
Jeb asked with confusion in why was she staring at his palm for a long time. He could not figure out the reason of her strange behavior. Jeb pulled his hand back as he waited for an answer. He was very confused as his eyes narrowed further as Jessica stood there quietly-no sign of any emotions, nor surprise she had experienced before.
She covered her blonde hair with her hands, tilting her head backward as a quiet and ominous feeling washed in the atmosphere. Then she tilted her head forward, staring at Jeb directly.
Her eyes had no sign of warmth nor coldness, it had nothing. Her gaze was not hostile but it stirred a great feeling of uneasiness in Jeb's heart.
"What are you?"
She asked Jeb with utmost seriousness. Her voice implied deadly calmness and a sense of authoritativeness. Her question shook Jeb as he didn't understand what was happening
"What...?"
Jeb replied with growing uneasiness and confusion as siren of danger slowly crept up in his mind.
Jessica sighed deeply as she looked up at the ceiling seemingly contemplating her decision. She was about to do something but stopped as she turned to speak.
"Tell me, what are you?"
Jeb's mouth slowly opened as he didn't understand what was she talking about. But he instinctively knew that he had to answer or he might be in serious trouble.
"What do you mean..?"
Jessica seemingly glared at Jeb as her pupils contracted rapidly into a small point. She clenched her fists tightly but not in a hostile manner.
Whoosh!
The air shimmered, bending around her in a ripple. One moment, she was on the far side of the room; the next, she was behind Jeb in position to attack. Her speed was so great that even light seemed sluggish infront of her.
Jeb couldn't react, his mind still in that moment. He felt a stream of air brushing off his ear as his hair glided in that direction. When he realized what had happened it was too late.
Jessica lunged at him like a missile, air bending around her fists as she prepared to hit him.
Then something happened, her blow didn't connect but stopped just about when it was about to hit him. The force of the blow was still strong enough to make Jeb wince as a strong gust of air washed over his face causing his hair to drift greatly.
"Why did you try to hit me?!"
Jeb asked as fear crept in his face. He had fallen down in shock as his whole body flinched greatly when the strong gust of wind hit him.
Jessica stood towering over, him her beautiful blonde hair swaying by her motion. Her radiant face that could let her get away from any crime if she just turned to look the person. A strange and red glow emanated from her palm like Jeb but it was a star with intricate and complex design.
"I had to check something...but my suspicion was wrong"
"...What?"
Her answer made Jeb very confused as he wondered what was wrong with her.
"Your tattoo...is something that I have never seen once in my lifetime."
Jeb grew more and confused as he couldn't understand why that was a reason to attack somebody.
"But why did you attack me just because of a tattoo"
His answer made her sigh as she leaned in his direction.
"Let me explain it from first, you know that the monsters that attacked your town were unnatural and definitely not from this world."
Jeb silently nodded as memories of the destruction and his mom's death haunted him.
"That monster attack was something that we'd call an Invasion and that Invasion is something caused by creatures of another world."
Jeb nodded in new found understanding that the attack on his homeland was caused by monsters of another world. He couldn't understand on thing and then asked,
"How did the monsters come on earth and invade?"
"You are very bright indeed...The Invasion happens through a portal and they come through it. But some humans gained abilities that could help them fight those monsters. The humans that gained abilities called themselves the Unnatural. "
Jeb slowly understood as he realized one thing.
"That means I am also a Unnatural...and you too."
Jessica smiled as she said,
"Very well...you and me are also the Unnatural. Anyways, the Unnatural created a organization named I.N.F short for Invasion Neutralization Force and this force takes care of Invasion."
Jeb flinched as he realized something. His blood boiled as he struggled to contain his anger. He realized that that destruction and madness could be neutralized.
"Why...didn't this force come to my hometown?!!"
