Cherreads

Chapter 12 - chapter 12

B: Theresa is an almost-50-year-old auntie.

C: Theresa is the magical girl TeRiRi.

D: Theresa embezzled her subordinates' salaries to buy Homu comics and merch.

Theresa: Why is it me again?! Is bullying the principal really that fun?!

"Theresa… this time, you're not going to say you don't know again, right?" Himeko asked suspiciously.

"…This question tests embarrassment level," Bronya said thoughtfully. "Bronya believes that if the principal imagines herself in each option, the one she would find most unacceptable is probably the correct answer."

Everyone turned to look at Theresa.

The principal looked like she was in pain.

"Principal, I wasn't involved in my father's ME Corp affairs," Mei said, "but I think letting this drag on could cause losses and strain alliances."

"Auntie, you don't want your niece's chest to shrink to be as small as yours, right? People will think our family genes are bad," Kiana added anxiously.

"You… you all…"

Her niece's pressure crushed Theresa's final resistance.

"…Fine. I'll say it…"

With grief in her heart, Theresa looked at the four options and muttered:

"Cecilia's secret photos? I do have some. I take them out when I miss her, and I've shown them to Himeko before."

"Almost-50 auntie… that feels bad, but my age isn't exactly a secret."

"Magical girl TeRiRi… that's an anime I watched as a kid. I admired it and even cosplayed once. Amber got dragged into it too. Grandpa probably kept backup photos…"

"Embezzling subordinates' salaries? Slander! I'm a responsible principal!"

All four options felt ridiculous. None of them seemed murderous—just embarrassing.

…Wait. If she eliminated A, B, and D…

Then the answer had to be the magical girl TeRiRi.

Only Grandpa and Amber would know about that old incident…

Amber!

Theresa's eyes widened. She hurried to answer—

Amber: Choose C.

Theresa: I choose C!

[Detected: Amber submitted the answer first.]

[Amber chose C.]

[Correct.]

Reward: For the next three days, Overseer Otto will work overtime at "007" intensity (Ganyu version).

(Ganyu description about being a work-obsessed secretary…)

[TL note: just a reminder to those who haven't play genshin, ganyu was the most hardworking person in the whole game as far as I know of]

"Lord Otto, stop playing games. The documents from all regional branches are stacked this high." — Amber

Curious after hearing Amber and Rita's report, Otto instantly appeared in his office and began processing the mountain of paperwork.

His focus was unprecedented—almost like when he was trying to save Kallen. Amber watched from the door, sincerely grateful to the Q&A system.

"So this is the power of another world… truly incredible," Amber murmured.

"Terrifying… rewards like this exist?" Kiana wiped sweat from her forehead in relief and fear.

"Each person's reward is something they desire internally," Bronya analyzed. "Miss Amber must be dissatisfied with Overseer Otto slacking off."

Theresa shivered under Himeko's gaze.

"Maybe it's a reward for Amber," Mei said, "but for Overseer Otto…" she trailed off.

"In Shenzhou there is a saying," Fu Hua said, "miracles always come with a price. While hope is gained, despair is also spread. If someone is saved, someone else will suffer."

Kiana didn't fully understand, but the chat was lively.

Tesla: Hahaha! He deserves it. I'd love to see Otto's suffering.

Einstein: Evil reaps evil. Thinking about future rewards… like Tesla actually doing experiments seriously… comforting.

Tesla: Einstein! What do you mean—

Rita: I'd love to meet Miss Ganyu. Overseer Otto's current state is honestly scary.

Amber: I'm satisfied. But "Liyue"… never heard of it. A coastal city in Shenzhou?

Fu Hua: There's no place called Liyue in Shenzhou.

Before they could discuss more, the screen changed.

"My Judah, become a blade… transcendental key, appear… monster sleeping in the deep memories…"

The video began.

A sparsely furnished room appeared. Two little girls sat on the sofa.

One white-haired girl with ahoge was sweating and trembling like a child waiting to be scolded.

The other, a gray-haired girl with a dark magic hat, read dramatically from a notebook.

"I was careless… I even forgot to bring Judah when I left."

Then a refined, elegant lady-like loli opened the door and entered.

Everyone recognized her.

"…That's me?" Theresa tilted her head.

"Ah-Da, did you bring a friend home to play?"

Theresa smiled gently and approached the sofa.

Just then, the gray-haired girl turned her head—revealing the notebook in her hands.

It had a pink bunny design and the words: "TeRiRi's Secret."

"…What would you like to eat—ugh?!"

Theresa's voice cracked. Her expression froze. She instantly grabbed the girl's head and dragged her into the room.

The door slammed shut.

"What… where did you get that book?" Theresa asked, veins popping on her forehead as she carried Judah.

Her tone sounded like a question, but it wasn't one.

"Hand it over."

The terrifying aura made refusal seem impossible.

"Y-You insolent one…!" The girl trembled but shouted, "This is the authentic record of the magical girl of light, Lady TeRiRi, conqueror of countless battlefields! Not for mortals to touch!"

Theresa stepped back in embarrassment, blushing in shame.

"…Just give it to me!"

To avoid social death, she shamelessly tried to take it by force.

But the girl's agility was absurd. Every attempt to grab her failed. Eventually she clung to the ceiling corner like a cockroach, holding the notebook in her mouth.

"No notebook! No life either!"

"…Why are you so fast…" Theresa panted.

She couldn't catch her. She'd have to outsmart her.

"Ahem… little one," Theresa said gently, "let me tell you a secret. I'm actually very good friends with TeRiRi…"

"If you give me that book, maybe I can get you TeRiRi's autograph."

By the end, Theresa's face was red. Using such shameless tactics on a child… truly disgraceful.
