Nova's POV
Helena Coldwater's document was a forgery.
Finn found it in eleven minutes.
He had arrived in the east hall two minutes after Nova uninvited, unannounced, carrying three books and the expression of someone who had been anticipating exactly this kind of problem and had done the preparatory reading and he had looked at Helena's document for thirty seconds and said, very quietly, to Nova: the ink is wrong.
The Northern Territories Charter had been signed two hundred years ago. The document Helena was presenting as predating it was using an ink compound that, according to the specific historical text Finn had spent the previous evening reading because Finn spent every evening reading, hadn't been developed until fifty years after the Charter's signing.
