Chapter 210 - Chapter 101: Ryuunosuke, the Artwork

"Ryuunosuke Uryuu, isn't it? I must say, you are one of the few beings in the world who has truly startled me. Yes, no need to be modest, you really did surprise me. Beasts like you, who look like humans, are indeed rare, a rare species... What do you think I should do with you?"

Her voice was utterly cold and devoid of emotion. Her words seemed like a question, but the man, whose facial features were already squashed together, clearly couldn't answer.

"Although I'd like to let you experience this sensation yourself, unfortunately, I don't possess your 'exquisite' craftsmanship. But since I can't achieve a similar sensory experience, I'll compensate with time."

Various spells were cast upon Ryuunosuke Uryuu through Rin's gripping hand: consciousness clarity, life sustenance, heightened senses, Enhancement Magic: sensitivity, resilience, endurance... All sorts of spells to enhance physical sensitivity, maintain consciousness, and prolong life were applied to Ryuunosuke Uryuu. Then, Rin's empty left hand snapped her fingers in the air with a crisp sound—

"Snap!"

A flash of magical energy enveloped Ryuunosuke Uryuu and vanished instantly. Hundreds of grotesque, barbed blades instantly pierced the trembling figure, turning him into an "iron hedgehog"! The body, pierced all over, sprayed blood in all directions into the air like a punctured water bag.

"As you can see, like your Servant, I am also a Magus. Or rather, compared to amateurs like Bluebeard, I am a true Magus. Your antics yesterday in Fuyuki City, stirring up trouble everywhere with magical artifacts, caused quite a bit of inconvenience for me and my colleagues."

At this point, Rin, holding Ryuunosuke Uryuu like a tattered sandbag, casually threw him with force towards the ten-meter-high dome. Her powerful arm easily sent him crashing heavily against the stone dome. Before he could fall, a greatsword shot up, piercing his abdomen and pinning Ryuunosuke Uryuu to the ceiling.

"As a reward for successfully disgusting me, I can't let you die so easily. Of course, I'm not expecting you to reflect on your life in your final moments; I simply want to do this. With my magical skill, you should have about 15 hours to slowly enjoy life."

Again, magical energy condensed to form another barbed, grotesque sword. Aimed at Ryuunosuke Uryuu's face, the only part not pierced, the bizarre and ferocious short sword, thrown with immense force, shattered all his teeth. The blade, driven by powerful inertia, emerged from the back of his neck and half-embedded itself into the stone ceiling.

Ryuunosuke Uryuu was thus pinned to the ceiling in this strange posture, his grotesque and tragic appearance no less shocking than his own works.

After dealing with this human pest, Rin looked at the girl on the table, who had been disemboweled but was still clinging to life. She wasn't dead, and her consciousness was still clear. Just as Rin had done to Ryuunosuke Uryuu, Caster had also cast spells of clarity and life-extension on her, to better satisfy their cruel pleasure of abusing life.

However, because of this, I can still save her... Using magic, I blocked the girl's sensation of her body, waved my hand to blast away the nails pinning her intestines to the table, and returned the exposed internal organs to her abdominal cavity. Then, I unfastened the girl from the crucifix, helped her lie flat, and took out surgical scalpels and tools Rin used for making dolls from her magic pocket. I quickly and carefully returned the displaced internal organs to their original positions. Because of the magic's protection, there was no need to worry about bacterial infection. After confirming that the organ positions were correct, I then used Healing Magic to heal the girl's wounds.

When the pretty girl's injuries healed, only a numb silence remained on her youthful face. No matter how much she cried out, no one would respond. She could only watch as her companions, captured with her, were one by one tortured and made into bizarre and terrifying objects, until it was inevitably her turn. A young, tender child encountering such a disaster, her fragile young heart must have already broken.

Just like... Sakura in the original work/canon... But Sakura won't have to go through that anymore, and there's no need for pointless sadness.

Rin thought this, reaching out to help the girl, whose body was now fine, sit up. The small body looked only six or seven years old. Rin sighed and stroked the top of the girl's head.

"Little sister, what's your name?"

Her inner world was shattered, but she wasn't unconscious. The girl looked up with a blank, numb expression at the older sister who had rescued her, and replied:

"Kotone."

Kotone... Rin vaguely remembered that name. If she hadn't changed the course of fate, and had gone to school like a normal child as in the original work/canon, she would have become her classmate.

In the original work/canon, Little Rin and Kotone were still very good friends. Worried about Kotone's safety after seeing frequent news of incidents in Fuyuki, Rin even snuck out and returned to the dangerous Fuyuki City for a 'Little Rin's Big Adventure,' almost losing her life to the tentacles of a tentacle monster.

I didn't expect it to be her... "Ah... Kotone, look into my eyes."

Kotone looked at Rin as instructed, and a shimmering blue magical light flashed in Rin's crystal-clear emerald eyes. Kotone immediately fell softly, as if tired, her eyes hazy, and leaned into Rin's arms.

Rin had just used mental magic to erase Kotone's memories from after school yesterday. This period of memory was too cruel for her; if not erased, she would be unable to continue living a normal life.

Memory erasure is not some inconceivable, profound magic; on the contrary, it is a widely popularized technique in the world of Maguss. Erasing the memories of ordinary people who accidentally witness the use of magic is a method Maguss often use to maintain secrecy. The requirement for this spell is that the caster must have an absolutely overwhelming mental advantage over the target, or the target must completely open their mental sea without resistance.

Rin carefully placed the unconscious Kotone aside and surveyed the gruesome and appalling scene. After the initial feeling of nausea, Rin could now look at these horrific 'artworks' without changing her expression.

If I had brought Lancelot directly to eliminate Marshal C yesterday, these things would not have come into existence. But I will neither repent nor feel ashamed.

No one knows what kind of crazy actions a madman in despair will take. What kind of bizarre magic would be recorded in the book of the abyss of the spiral labyrinth (codex of the spiral city), filled with evil Cthulhu evil gods' destructive magic and an infinite magic core grimoire?

To directly confront such a self-destructing time bomb is absolutely irrational from any perspective.

Therefore, Rin would not lament that her decision caused the deaths of these children. Even if time flowed backward, Rin would still act the same way. Rin is a person who acts according to her own will and interests. The tragedy she wants to save is a predetermined tragedy that she deems worthy of lament. If she truly wanted to change all the tragedies in the world, she would probably have to become a 'hero of justice' like Kiritsugu Emiya.
