"Interesting."
Qin Yu extinguished his cigarette butt.
A cold smirk curled at the corner of his mouth.
"So it's a watchdog that lost something."
"Can't find its master."
"So it wants to take its anger out on me?"
"Since you're here."
"You're not leaving."
Qin Yu turned around.
He grabbed the [Kiss of Death] beside him in one swift motion.
"Ruo Bing, Elena."
"Here!"
"Let's get to work."
"See that big, pulsating meatball down there?"
Qin Yu pointed towards the bottom of the Abyss, beyond the reach of the searchlights.
There.
A massive shadowy mass.
Was contracting and expanding like a heart.
With each expansion.
It would spew out vast amounts of green acidic fluid.
"That's its false heart."
"Also its power source."
"Since the real one is gone."
"Let's blow up the fake one too."
"I want to see."
"What's inside this Titan's belly."
"Besides rotten flesh."
"Is there any other worthwhile loot!"
"Roger that!"
Li Ruobing had been waiting impatiently.
She cast a disgusted glance at the surrounding mucus.
"This place stinks too much."
"Let's finish this quickly."
"And go back for a shower!"
"Whoosh—"
Li Ruobing was the first to charge out.
She didn't use her gun.
Instead, she directly activated the jetpack of her Exoskeleton Armor.
Her entire body shot forward like a cannonball.
Holding that several-hundred-pound heavy hammer aloft.
She aimed straight for the meatball and smashed down.
"Eighty!!"
"Big hammer!"
"Smash it!!"
The moment Li Ruobing charged out.
The surrounding tentacles that had been dormant.
Awoke.
"Hiss hiss hiss—"
Countless vine-like appendages, thick as pythons.
Emerged from the fleshy walls on all sides.
With a sound of tearing air.
They lashed towards the small black dot in the air.
"Hmph."
A cold snort rang out.
It wasn't Qin Yu.
It was Elena.
She stood on the ship's railing.
Her left arm.
That newly installed [S-Class Berserker Prosthetic].
Was now fully deployed.
The five fingers had transformed into five high-speed rotating alloy blades.
Even.
A red energy sphere ignited in the center of her palm.
"The boss paid."
"So we work."
Elena's figure vanished instantly.
When she reappeared.
She was already behind Li Ruobing.
"Slash!"
A crimson crescent-shaped light blade.
Swept out horizontally.
"Thud thud thud thud thud!!"
The dozen or so vines attempting to ambush Li Ruobing.
Were instantly severed.
The cuts were smooth as mirrors.
The green sap didn't even have time to spray out.
Before being scorched into black charcoal by the intense heat.
"Nicely done!"
Li Ruobing let out a loud laugh.
By now.
She had reached a position above the giant meatball.
"For your grandma..."
"Open!!"
"Boom—!!"
The great hammer descended.
Smashing onto the meatball.
The meatball convulsed violently.
The thick layer of keratin on its surface.
Was directly cratered by the impact.
Green slurry erupted wildly.
"Groooan—!!"
A deep, muffled roar of agony.
Echoed throughout the internal space.
The monster was in pain.
The entire "cavern" began to shake violently.
The root-like structures overhead started falling frantically.
As if a cave-in was imminent.
"It's getting desperate."
Qin Yu stood at the ship's bow.
He still hadn't moved.
He held the gun steady.
His eye pressed against the scope.
He was searching.
Searching for that truly fatal point.
A creature of this level.
Couldn't be killed just by destroying a single power source.
Its regenerative abilities were too monstrous.
The vines that had been severed just moments ago.
In only a few seconds.
Had already sprouted new buds.
"It must be a one-hit kill."
"Its weakness..."
"Since it has no heart."
"Then where is its soul?"
"That is..."
Qin Yu suddenly raised the muzzle.
Aiming behind the fleshy sphere.
At an inconspicuous, small bulge wrapped in layers of rotting flesh.
There was no energy reaction there.
No defense.
It looked just like a tumor.
That place.
Was the convergence point of all the golden threads.
The "brain" of this monster.
Or perhaps... the last remnants of its sanity.
"Found you."
The corner of Qin Yu's mouth lifted.
His finger rested on the trigger.
The newly evolved [Netherworld: Death's Kiss].
The red flowing light on the gun's body.
Began to madly converge at the muzzle.
The surrounding air.
Started to distort.
A heart-palpitating pressure.
Spread out.
"Ruo Bing! Elena!"
"Get out of the way!"
Qin Yu shouted in a low voice.
The sound wasn't loud.
But the two didn't hesitate for a moment.
Immediately leaped aside to both flanks.
The next second.
"Bang!"
There was no earth-shattering explosion.
Only a soft sound.
As if Death had snapped its fingers right by your ear.
A bullet entwined with black lightning.
Flew out of the barrel.
It ignored space.
Ignored obstacles.
Even ignored the obstruction of the massive fleshy sphere.
[Trait Triggered: Absolute Penetration!]
[Trait Triggered: Spatial Erasure!]
The bullet directly pierced through the still-bleeding fleshy sphere.
Precisely.
Nailing into that inconspicuous little bulge behind it.
Time.
Seemed to freeze for an instant.
Then.
That little bulge.
Like a sand painting.
Silently...
Vanished.
Not exploding.
But disappearing into thin air.
Along with that patch of space.
A piece had been carved out.
"..."
The wildly thrashing tentacles around.
Suddenly froze.
Suspended in mid-air.
Like a group of snakes that had been paused.
The still violently contracting fleshy sphere.
Also stopped.
The entire world.
Fell silent.
"Is it over?"
Yao Qian poked her head out from behind the control panel.
Her small face filled with tension.
"No."
Qin Yu put away his gun.
The muzzle still smoking with faint black tendrils.
He looked at the massive space that was rapidly graying and withering.
"It's liberation."
With the disappearance of that core.
This enormous [Forest Black Goat].
Was dying.
Its fleshy walls began to dry and crack.
Its tentacles began to turn to ash.
That nauseating vitality.
Was cut off.
[Ding!]
[Congratulations, host, for successfully killing "Corrupt Black Goat of the Forest (Incomplete Titan)"!]
[Cross-level kill detected!]
[Settling Plunder Value...]
[Items obtained: ...]
Before the system notification could finish.
Qin Yu's gaze.
Was drawn to something that had fallen.
From the spot where the little bulge had disappeared.
It wasn't equipment.
Nor was it material.
It was a stone slab.
A tattered, moss-covered stone slab.
Before the slab could fall into the acid.
Qin Yu's figure flashed.
He directly jumped down.
And caught it.
The slab was heavy.
Cold to the touch.
Some strange characters were carved on it.
Unreadable.
But in the very center.
A picture was drawn.
It depicted a person.
Holding five glowing stones in their hands.
He stood before a massive gate.
And that gate...
"As expected."
Qin Yu looked at the stone slab in his hand.
His gaze was profound.
"This monster."
"Came out from that gate."
"Or rather."
"It was the gatekeeper."
"But the gate broke."
"And it went mad."
"Brother-in-law!"
Yao Qian's shout came from above.
"This place is about to collapse!"
"The ship is severely damaged!"
"We need to evacuate now!"
"Got it."
Qin Yu tucked the stone slab into his chest.
He glanced up at the collapsing dome overhead.
Huge stones and rotting flesh.
Were raining down like drops of water.
"Ruo Bing, Elena!"
"Back to the ship!"
"We're getting out of here!"
"As for the spoils this time."
Qin Yu patted the stone slab against his chest.
"These are more than enough."
...
Five minutes later.
On the sea surface.
A massive whirlpool was forming.
That island-sized colossal corpse.
Was slowly sinking into the depths of the ocean.
"Whoosh—!!"
A streak of blue light.
Shot up from the center of the whirlpool.
It was the President.
Though covered in wounds.
Its armor plates pitted and scarred.
And draped with green mucus.
It still stood domineering.
Still upright.
"Cough, cough, cough..."
"Brother! You finally made it out!"
Not far away in the air.
Qi Chun's flying saucer.
Was billowing black smoke.
Teetering on the verge of collapse.
It seemed that during the battle outside earlier.
Fatty hadn't had an easy time either.
"I saw the island sink."
"I thought you'd been buried along with it!"
"Don't jinx me."
Qin Yu stood at the bow of the ship.
Letting the sea breeze disperse the stench clinging to him.
He looked at the stone slab in his hand, now freshly cleaned.
Then glanced at the seemingly calm sea in the distance.
Where undercurrents surged beneath the surface.
"Old Qi."
"Get ready."
"Ready for what?"
Qi Chun was taken aback.
"Ready to move."
Qin Yu turned around.
His gaze fixed on the distant east.
The direction where the Underwater Garden had been.
